About Panda Express

Panda Express, situated at 7400 Bay Rd within University Center, Michigan, serves as a Chinese restaurant option for the local community, particularly catering to the students and faculty of the nearby university. As part of a well-known national chain within the Chinese Restaurant category, this location aims to provide familiar American-Chinese cuisine. However, recent customer reviews present a mixed perspective on the overall experience at this particular Panda Express outlet.

One customer expressed significant dissatisfaction, stating that they would give the location zero stars if possible. Their primary complaint centered on the perceived value, alleging that the restaurant "completely rip you off because you're on campus." This reviewer claimed that the serving strategy involves filling bowls or plates with a disproportionate amount of sides such as rice or chow mein, while providing a minimal quantity of meat, all while charging the same prices as other Panda Express locations. This suggests a concern that the on-campus location might offer less protein for the same cost compared to off-campus counterparts, leading to a feeling of being overcharged due to the captive audience of the university setting. Furthermore, this reviewer raised concerns about the quality of the chicken, describing it as "often gross," which is a serious indictment of a key menu item.

In contrast, another customer offered a more positive review. They noted that the location is somewhat secluded due to being on a college campus. However, they found the food to be "great" and specifically praised the servers as "amazing." This feedback highlights a positive aspect of the customer experience, suggesting that the service provided by the staff at this location is commendable. The positive remark about the food quality also directly contradicts the negative feedback from the other reviewer, indicating a potential inconsistency in food preparation or differing standards and expectations among customers.

Given these contrasting opinions, it is difficult to provide a definitive description of the environment of this Panda Express location. The positive reviewer does not comment on the ambiance or cleanliness, while the negative reviewer focuses solely on the food and value aspects. As it is located on a college campus, it might be reasonable to expect a casual and functional environment catering to the student population, but this is speculative based on the limited information provided.

Regarding services, both reviews implicitly refer to over-the-counter service typical of Panda Express, where customers order at a counter and receive their food for immediate consumption either on-site or for takeout. The positive reviewer's mention of "amazing" servers suggests efficient and friendly order taking and food delivery at the counter. However, the reviews do not provide information about other potential services such as online ordering, delivery options (whether through Panda Express directly or third-party platforms), or catering services that this location might offer.

In terms of features, the primary feature identified is its location on a college campus, which, according to one reviewer, might influence its pricing and portioning strategies negatively. The positive reviewer, on the other hand, suggests that despite its secluded location, the quality of the food is high. There is no mention of any unique menu items, special promotions, or other distinguishing features that set this particular Panda Express apart from other branches, beyond its campus setting and the conflicting reports on food quality and value.

Finally, neither of the provided reviews mentions any specific promotional information relevant to this Panda Express at University Center. It is unknown whether this location offers any student discounts, special deals tied to campus events, or any other promotions that might be specific to its university setting.

In conclusion, the Panda Express located at 7400 Bay Rd, University Center, Michigan, presents a mixed picture based on the limited recent customer feedback. One reviewer expressed strong concerns about being overcharged due to the campus location, citing small meat portions and poor chicken quality. In contrast, another reviewer found the food to be great and the servers amazing, despite the somewhat secluded location. Without further information regarding the environment, a comprehensive list of services, unique features, or any promotional offers, potential customers are left with these divergent opinions to consider. Those associated with the university might find the convenience of an on-campus location appealing but should be aware of the reported concerns about value and food quality. Conversely, others might find it to be a satisfactory option, particularly if they experience the "amazing" service and "great" food reported by one reviewer. Further reviews or personal experience might be necessary to form a more conclusive opinion of this Panda Express location.

I'd give it 0 stars if I could. They completely rip you off because you're on campus. They fill your bowl/plate with as much sides (rice/chow-mein) as they can then give you as little meat as possible while still charging the same price as the other locations. Chicken is often gross...

This is a small restaurant in the food court of a university so, it is rather small with a somewhat limited selection of food. It is also somewhat pricey, but not overly so. If you need a quick bite this is the place to go.
