About Panda Chinese Restaurant

Panda Chinese Restaurant is located at 6473 LA-44 #119, Gonzales, LA 70737, USA, serving the local community with Chinese cuisine. They can be contacted at (225) 257-4933 or via their mobile number +1 225-257-4933. As a Chinese restaurant, Panda Chinese Restaurant aims to provide a variety of dishes, likely for both takeout and dine-in customers.

Based on the limited customer feedback available, the environment of Panda Chinese Restaurant is not explicitly detailed. However, its location within a strip mall setting suggests a casual and functional dining space. One review mentions that the service is provided by "a one man show," indicating a potentially small operation where one individual manages various aspects of the restaurant, possibly including taking orders, serving, and perhaps even cooking. This could contribute to a more personal but potentially less formal atmosphere. Customers might expect a straightforward and efficient setting rather than elaborate décor. To gain a better understanding of the ambiance, additional reviews or a visit to the location might be necessary.

In terms of services, Panda Chinese Restaurant appears to offer both takeout and dine-in options. The review mentioning "a one man show" suggests that the service might be direct and to the point, potentially very efficient as noted by the reviewer ("so he is quick"). However, this could also mean that during busy periods, service might be slower due to limited staffing. The heavy accent of the person taking orders was mentioned as a potential communication barrier by one reviewer, though they advised not to let it deter potential customers, suggesting that the food itself might be worth the effort. This implies that while there might be a slight hurdle in communication for some, the overall service is still functional.

The features of Panda Chinese Restaurant present a mixed perspective based on the two available reviews. One review is overwhelmingly negative, describing the food as "the worst Chinese food I ever tasted," even after having visited "hundreds of different Chinese restaurants." Specific criticisms include the rice not being fully fried, General Tso's chicken having an off color and rubbery texture, and egg rolls being excessively salty. The only item deemed edible by this reviewer were the crab rangoons. This strongly suggests significant issues with the quality and preparation of several key dishes. On the other hand, the second review offers a more positive outlook, stating that the "food is good" and specifically recommending the "steam dumplings" as "awesome." This reviewer also highlights the efficiency of the service due to it being a "one man show." The stark contrast between these two reviews makes it difficult to pinpoint the consistent features of Panda Chinese Restaurant. It is possible that the quality of dishes varies, or that individual palates and expectations differ significantly.

The "one man show" aspect could be considered a unique feature, potentially leading to quicker service in some instances but also potentially impacting consistency or the ability to handle a large influx of customers efficiently. The positive mention of "steam dumplings" could indicate a specialty or a particularly well-prepared item on their menu. However, the serious concerns raised about other dishes like fried rice, General Tso's chicken, and egg rolls cannot be ignored.

Currently, no promotional information for Panda Chinese Restaurant is available in the provided text. It is unknown if they offer any specials, discounts, or promotions to attract customers. Given the conflicting reviews regarding food quality, any potential promotions would need to be considered with caution. Local users interested in any promotional offers should contact the restaurant directly at (225) 257-4933 or +1 225-257-4933 to inquire. Checking local online listings or community pages might also provide information about any current specials or deals.

In conclusion, Panda Chinese Restaurant in Gonzales, LA, receives highly contrasting reviews regarding its food quality. While one customer found multiple dishes to be exceptionally poor, another praised the food as "good" and specifically recommended the steam dumplings. The service is noted to be efficient due to the restaurant possibly being run primarily by one person, though communication might be slightly challenging for some due to the server's accent. The environment is likely a standard strip mall setting. Potential local users should be aware of the significant divergence in customer experiences when considering Panda Chinese Restaurant. Trying specific dishes like the steam dumplings, based on the positive review, might be a way to gauge the quality firsthand. Contacting the restaurant directly for any current promotions or to inquire about specific dishes might also be beneficial.

Had to be the worst Chinese food I ever tasted and I've been to hundreds of different Chinese restaurants. The rice wasn't completely fried as it was still partially white throughout not to mention the general tso chicken color looked off and was very rubbery. I never tasted a salty egg roll before until I visited this place. Crab ragoons were the only thing edible throughout this meal.

Food is good, he is a one man show so he is quick and to the point. Accent is a little heavy but don’t let that deter you. Steam dumplings are awesome.

I gave them one last chance. Never again. The restaurant has gone down hill over the years. We ordered Mei Fun and it was terrible. Greasy, hard brown noodles with hardly any vegetables or shrimp. Had to cook vegetables in order to eat it!

I went there a few hours ago... I ordered 2 Vegetable lo mien with pork fried rice combos ... me and my mom open our plate and for one the rice and the noodles was very light... my mom didn't have any pork in her fried rice and we both didn't have much vegetables in lo mien at all..... not only was he stingy with the sauce, also the vegetables and the pork... I don't appreciate being ripped off like that, everyone is struggling to make ends meet but it you providing a service to people make sure you do right by consumers because that's how you get blessed. I will not be coming back.

Worst food ever. I have never thrown food away until today. The chicken wings were enormous and did not taste like chicken. The beef in the beef and broccoli did not look like meat at all. Just a waste of time and money. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone. Stay away!
