About Panda Cafe
Welcome to Panda Cafe, a Chinese restaurant located at 10070 Dumfries Rd, Manassas, VA 20110, USA. As a part of the local Chinese restaurant scene, Panda Cafe provides the Manassas community with options for enjoying Chinese cuisine, primarily through takeout services, though dine-in may also be available. This introduction aims to offer a comprehensive and objective overview of Panda Cafe based on recent customer reviews found online, highlighting the various aspects of their food, service, and overall experience to inform local users.
One customer shared their initial experience with Panda Cafe through a takeout order. They found the restaurant to be "pretty good," noting it wasn't "amazing, but great in all aspects." This suggests a generally positive first impression. The order consisted of a large portion of "chicken with broccoli" and a large portion of "shrimp fried rice," totaling $26. This provides some insight into the pricing and portion sizes at Panda Cafe, indicating that they offer generous servings for the price.
The reviewer provided specific feedback on each dish. The "Shrimp Fried Rice was pretty good - not amazing." However, they noted a textural issue, stating, "It seemed like it was a bit under-cooked, or maybe left out too long (?) because the rice had a crunchy texture to it, in the middle." This observation points to a potential inconsistency in the preparation of their fried rice, which might affect the overall enjoyment of the dish for some customers.
On a more positive note, the "Chicken with Broccoli was great." The reviewer described its flavor as having "a very strong pronounced front flavor, similar to that which you get when you add A1 or Teriyaki sauce to something." They clarified that it was "an extreme frontal flavor, not a blended smooth flavor," which could be appealing to those who prefer bold and distinct tastes. The quality of the ingredients was also praised, with the "meat" being "nice and tender" and the "broccoli" cooked "perfectly" – "not too mushy and not stiff." The reviewer gave this dish an impressive "8/10" and noted "a nice even balance of meat to vegetables," indicating a well-proportioned and enjoyable dish.
Despite the generally positive feedback on the food itself, this customer pointed out a logistical issue with their takeout order: "There were no condiments in the bag, or plastic-ware." This lack of essential items for a takeout meal could be inconvenient for customers who are not eating at home or who expect these to be included with their order. This is an area where Panda Cafe could improve to enhance the overall customer experience for takeout orders.
The reviewer also had positive things to say about the staff, describing them as "very helpful, happy, and polite." This positive interaction with the staff contributes significantly to a good overall impression, even if there are minor issues with the food or order accuracy. The reviewer concluded by stating that while they still prefer their regular spot, China Star (noting its Monday closure), they would "keep this place in mind for future visits, because the food was decent and the people were kind." This suggests that Panda Cafe is a reliable alternative, especially when their preferred option is unavailable.
Another customer provided a glowing review, proclaiming, "This is, by far, the best Chinese food I've ever had." This strong endorsement suggests that for some patrons, Panda Cafe offers exceptional quality. This reviewer identified themselves as someone who "obviously eats way too much and loves to order takeout," particularly "Chinese food and sushi," indicating a significant experience with takeout cuisine. They mentioned this was their "third/4th order, and each time, I have not been disappointed," highlighting consistency in their positive experiences.
This enthusiastic reviewer specifically praised several dishes. They noted that the "pan dumplings are HANDMADE!!" (with an accompanying picture showing one partially eaten), emphasizing the freshness and care in their preparation. The "Eggroll are crispy and REAL. not like some places you see," suggesting a higher quality compared to standard offerings at other Chinese restaurants. The "Bourbon chicken" was described as "to die for!!" indicating it as a standout and highly recommended dish.
The overall impression from this reviewer was one of exceptional freshness and flavor: "Everything tastes so fresh, so real, and mouth watering." They went as far as to say, "Let's put it this way... if you order from here... everyone else's Chinese food will taste bland and gross," which is a very strong statement about the superior quality they perceive at Panda Cafe.
Based on these reviews, the environment of Panda Cafe is not explicitly detailed. As a restaurant offering takeout and potentially dine-in, it likely has a physical location with a kitchen and a service area. The presence of helpful and polite staff suggests a welcoming atmosphere for those who might visit to place or pick up orders. However, there is no specific information about the decor, cleanliness, or overall ambiance of a dine-in area, if one exists.
The services offered by Panda Cafe include takeout, as indicated by both reviewers. The first reviewer's experience suggests they may also offer delivery, although this is not explicitly confirmed. The availability of phone numbers, (703) 368-9900 and +1 703-368-9900, confirms that customers can place orders via telephone. The second reviewer's mention of "order takeout" also supports this service. Local users seeking to dine in or inquire about delivery options should contact Panda Cafe directly.
Key features of Panda Cafe, as gleaned from the customer reviews, include generally good food with some standout dishes like the Chicken with Broccoli and the Bourbon Chicken. The handmade pan dumplings and crispy, "real" egg rolls are also notable. The staff are consistently described as helpful and polite, contributing to a positive customer service experience. However, potential drawbacks include occasional inconsistencies in food preparation, such as the crunchy shrimp fried rice, and the lack of condiments and plastic ware with takeout orders. The strong, pronounced flavors in some dishes, like the Chicken with Broccoli, might be a feature that appeals to some but not others.
There is no promotional information available in the provided text. Chinese restaurants often offer lunch specials, family meal deals, or discounts on certain days or for specific order amounts. Local users interested in any potential promotions at Panda Cafe should inquire directly when placing an order or visiting the restaurant.
In conclusion, Panda Cafe in Manassas, VA, appears to be a local Chinese restaurant that offers a generally positive experience, particularly for takeout. Customers have praised the helpful and polite staff and highlighted some exceptional dishes like the Bourbon Chicken and the Chicken with Broccoli. Customer Reviews
I would say this place is pretty good. Not amazing, but great in all aspects. I ordered a take-out, for the first time trying this place. I got the chicken with broccoli and some shrimp fried rice. Both large, the total came out to $26. The Shrimp Fried Rice was pretty good - not amazing. It seemed like it was a bit under-cooked, or maybe left out too long (?) because the rice had a crunchy texture to it, in the middle. The Chicken with Broccoli was great. It has a very strong pronounced front flavor, similar to that which you get when you add A1 or Teriyaki sauce to something. You can tell there's an extreme frontal flavor, not a blended smooth flavor. The meat was nice and tender, and the broccoli was cooked perfectly. Not too mushy and not stiff. It was great, and I'd give it a 8/10. There was a nice even balance of meat to vegetables. There were no condiments in the bag, or plastic-ware. The staff were very helpful, happy, and polite. All things considered, I still prefer my go-to spot at China Star, but since they are closed on Mondays, I will keep this place in mind for future visits, because the food was decent and the people were kind.
This is, by far, the best Chinese food I've ever had. And I am a big guy who obviously eats way too much and loves to order takeout. Especially Chinese food and sushi. This is my third/4th order, and each time, I have not been disappointed. These pan dumplings are HANDMADE!! ( I already ate one in the picture.) Eggroll are crispy and REAL. not like some places you see. Bourbon chicken...to die for!! Everything tastes so fresh, so real, and mouth watering. Let's put it this way... if you order from here... everyone else's Chinese food will taste bland and gross.
Regular customer for at least five years, probably ordered more than 60 times, no exaggeration. I order delivery from here about 1-2 per month for gaming gatherings at my house. The food is always good, at least an 8 out of 10, gets here within 30 mins 90% of the time, and is always hot. The portions are large and reasonably priced. The delivery fee is very generous. Every one of my guests routinely enjoys the food, otherwise we wouldn't keep coming back for more. Their web site is "classic" and works. For me, the food is what I care about most, and they have their priorities straight. If you're looking for flash, razzamatazz, or pristine perfection, then go somewhere else. They've messed up my order three times in five years, once was on me. Each time a simple call to the restaurant and they made it right. This is a high value old school Chinese food restaurant. One of the last.
First time ordering here. Ordered at 4pm for a 7pm delivery. Delivery was spot on at the door 5 minutes before my scheduled time. Ordered Pork Fried Rice, Beef Lo Mein and Sesame Chicken. Pork fried rice was very good. No complaints. Lo Mein noodles were overcooked and soggy. The sesame chicken was over cooked and chewy. I’m hoping they were extremely busy being it’s New Years Eve and this is why food was subpar. I’ll try them again on a regular day to see if it’s better. But I can say one thing food wasn’t greasy like some other places I’ve ordered from.
I order from here often . Most times as delivery as I do not live near the location. The food is fantastic however I enjoy any Chinese food options with the spicy mustard. None of the options for deliveries allow you to select sauces like that from the menu so I always type it in. The restaurant NEVER EVER EVER sends any. I know they see the text as it’s always on the receipt plus they follow my “no onion” request on my other entree option. It happens so often that it has to be intentional at this point and I do not mind paying however it’s NOT an option ANYWHERE. I feel they should accommodate that or update their menu on these platforms to allow customers to select it from the menu. It’s really disappointing every time I get a delivery to not have it as requested.
