About PanBao66 六六生煎王

PanBao66 六六生煎王, which translates to "Six Six Pan-Fried Bun King," is a Chinese restaurant located at 136-20 Roosevelt Ave #29 in Flushing, New York. As a part of the Chinese Restaurant category, PanBao66 六六生煎王 focuses on its specialty: shengjian bao, or pan-fried buns. These are a popular Shanghainese street food, known for their savory filling, soupy interior, and crispy, slightly charred bottom. Based on the available customer reviews, PanBao66 offers freshly made shengjian bao at competitive prices, although customers should be prepared for a potential wait.

Details about the environment of PanBao66 六六生煎王 are not extensively provided in the reviews. One reviewer mentioned a "long wait," suggesting that the focus is primarily on the preparation of the food rather than an elaborate dining atmosphere. The mention of accepting Apple Pay and credit cards at the same rate as cash indicates a modern and convenient payment system. However, aspects such as seating capacity, decor, or the overall ambiance of the restaurant are not described. It is likely that PanBao66 functions more as a quick-service eatery specializing in takeout, although dine-in options might be available.

In terms of services, the primary offering of PanBao66 六六生煎王 is the sale of its signature pan-fried buns. The reviews indicate that the buns are made fresh, which contributes to the potential wait times. The restaurant appears to efficiently handle payments with various options available. Whether they offer other menu items besides shengjian bao, or services like delivery, is not mentioned in the provided feedback. Customers interested in a full menu or delivery options may need to contact the restaurant directly.

The key feature of PanBao66 六六生煎王 is its freshly made pan-fried buns. Customers have noted the "great technique" employed in their preparation, resulting in a good amount of soup inside the buns and a desirable "crispy bottom." These are hallmarks of well-made shengjian bao. The filling is described as "just OK" by one reviewer and "generous" and "tasty" by another, suggesting that the flavor of the filling is generally acceptable, though perhaps not the absolute highlight for all palates. A point of comparison is made to the Shanghai style, which typically features a very thick bottom bun (almost 3/4 inch), whereas the buns at PanBao66 are noted to have a very thin bottom. Another reviewer also expressed a preference for a thicker, fluffier wrap, but found the offering satisfactory given the price.

The pricing of the shengjian bao is mentioned as 6 for $9 and 8 for $11 (as of December 2024). One reviewer explicitly stated that "these prices can't be beat" compared to their preferred spot in Manhattan, highlighting the affordability of PanBao66. This suggests that a significant feature of this restaurant is its value for money, offering a relatively inexpensive way to enjoy pan-fried buns. However, customers should be aware of a potential "long wait" or "a bit of a wait," likely due to the fresh preparation of the food.

Currently, there is no information available regarding any specific promotional offers or discounts at PanBao66 六六生煎王. The reviews do not mention any special deals or loyalty programs. Local users interested in such information would need to contact the restaurant directly using the provided phone numbers: (917) 563-1243 or +1 917-563-1243.

The location at 136-20 Roosevelt Ave #29 in Flushing is in a likely bustling area known for its diverse culinary scene. This accessibility makes it a convenient option for locals and visitors alike seeking this specific Shanghainese specialty.

In conclusion, PanBao66 六六生煎王 in Flushing, NY, is a Chinese restaurant specializing in freshly made pan-fried buns (shengjian bao) at competitive prices. The buns are praised for their soupy interior and crispy bottom, although some customers might find the thinness of the bun different from their preference. While the taste of the filling is generally well-received, it might not be the standout element for everyone. Customers should be prepared for a potential wait due to the fresh preparation. The restaurant offers convenient payment options. For those looking for affordable and authentic pan-fried buns in Flushing, PanBao66 六六生煎王 is a worthwhile option to consider, especially if price is a significant factor.

Freshly made but long wait (more than 10-15 minutes). Great technique: good amt of soup and crispy bottom. The taste of the filling is just OK. I prefer the Shanghai style of a very thick bottom bun - almost 3/4” so this one is very thin. 6 for $9, 8 for $11. A bit of a wait. Apple Pay, credit card at same rate as cash. Dec 2024

The pan fried buns here are pretty good. I still prefer my spot in Manhattan; but these prices can't be beat. The filling is generous and soup in the buns, tasty. I prefer a thicker, fluffier wrap; but for this price, I'm still happy with what I got.

Everytime when I'm in Flushing and craving for fried buns, this is the place for it! You can see them making it. These buns are always served fresh and hot, and are very affordable, with sets of six or eight buns priced around $9 to $11. It tastes flavorful with their pork filling and savory broth. Pan Bao 66 is located in the New World Mall food court in Flushing. The wait doesn't take that long and good service. It's a great spot to try if you're in the area and looking for tasty, freshly made fried pork buns. Inside the New World Mall, they also have different food courts serving different kinds of food. It's spacious inside with plenty of seatings as well.

Unlike the others, I found the skin part to be too thick (born/raised in Shanghai, I know my food so idk why others are saying they prefer it to be thick), but I haven’t tried any other 生煎 places in nyc, so this will suffice. Juicy and generous fillings. 6 for $10 or $14 with a soup. Waited 15 min ish.

The store is located in the food court on the Lower Level of the New World Mall. They only took cash when I visited so I would prepare some. I was lucky enough to get some right after they just finished a batch so I didn't need to wait for long. Tasty, moist pork filling and hot, flavorful broth wrapped inside satisfyingly chewy wrappers with a golden crispy bottom. I recommend having these dumplings with some vinegar to cut the richness since it got a bit too fatty for me after a few (very good) bites.
