One enthusiastic reviewer who visited during Chinese New Year described their experience as "awesome," highlighting the restaurant's "great menu," which they found to be a significant asset, especially when it comes to Chinese food options in the Coachella Valley. This suggests that Palm Tree Palace offers a wider variety and perhaps more authentic dishes than some other local Chinese restaurants. The reviewer specifically raved about the roast duck, calling it "excellent," indicating a mastery of this classic Cantonese dish. They also lauded the pan-fried dumplings as "outstanding" and thoroughly enjoyed the Singapore noodles, further showcasing the quality and flavor of their offerings across different categories.
Another reviewer provided a concise yet powerful summary of their experience, giving Palm Tree Palace a 5-star rating across the board for food, service, and atmosphere. It suggests that Palm Tree Palace excels not only in the quality of its cuisine but also in creating a welcoming and enjoyable environment with attentive staff.
A minor drawback mentioned by a recurring customer is an issue with the fountain sodas being frequently flat. However, this seems to be a relatively minor inconvenience, as the restaurant offers alternative beverage options, including can sodas and other drinks. This suggests that while there might be a technical issue with the fountain system, the availability of other choices ensures that customers still have a range of drink options to accompany their meals.
Another review echoed the positive sentiments, stating that the "food taste good" and offering a general appreciation for the "diffrent flavors" present in the dishes. This implies a menu that goes beyond standard Americanized Chinese fare, offering a more nuanced and authentic taste experience. This reviewer also commended the service, noting that the staff "keep checking on you," indicating attentive and proactive service that enhances the dining experience. Furthermore, they described the atmosphere as having a "good vibe" and noted that the place "looks clean," contributing to a comfortable and pleasant environment.
This reviewer concluded by offering a strong recommendation for "everyone," suggesting that Palm Tree Palace has broad appeal and can cater to a wide range of diners. They also specifically mentioned enjoying the Mongolian beef, BBQ pork, and Kung Pao chicken, providing further insight into the variety and quality of their main course offerings. The inclusion of these popular dishes alongside more specialized items like roast duck and Singapore noodles reinforces the idea of a comprehensive and satisfying menu.
Based on this consistent positive feedback, Palm Tree Palace appears to be a standout Chinese restaurant in La Quinta, CA. Its features include a diverse and well-regarded menu, with specific highlights such as the roast duck, pan-fried dumplings, and Singapore noodles. The mention of Mongolian beef, BBQ pork, and Kung Pao chicken indicates that they also excel in more familiar favorites. The service is consistently praised as excellent and attentive, contributing to a positive dining experience. The atmosphere is described as having a good vibe and being clean, suggesting a comfortable and welcoming environment for diners.
While the issue with flat fountain sodas is a minor point of concern, the availability of alternative beverages mitigates this inconvenience. The overall impression from these reviews is overwhelmingly positive, positioning Palm Tree Palace as a top choice for local users seeking high-quality Chinese food in La Quinta. We came here for Chinese New Years, and it is awesome. They have a great menu, which is hard to find in the Coachella Valley when it comes to Chinese food. I love roast duck, and it's excellent here. The pan-fried dumplings were outstanding. Loved the Singapore noodles.
Food 5 star Service 5 star Atmosphere 5 star Only problem is I've come here multiple times and fountain sodas are flat. But they have can sodas and other beverages. Food taste good, diffrent flavors Service, they keep checking on you Atmosphere place has good vibe and looks clean. Recommend for everyone! Had Mongolian beef Pork BBQ con Pau chicken
The food varies as to whether or not we liked a dish. Cashew Chicken is very good. Orange Chicken was supposed to have a bit of crunchy outer coat, but it was kinda soft. The chicken was a bit tough and stringy. The BBQ Beef Fried Rice was good. We ordered ahead and to go, 3 Sesame Balls (also called Chinese Donuts in San Francisco.) They take about 20 mins to make which is why we ordered ahead. They brought the bill and I noticed the Sesame Balls weren't on it. So they forgot to take that order, or make that order, so we had to wait another 20 minutes. Then we got our bill for 2 people (no alcohol), which was for $93! So they are quite expensive, and this would keep us from going say once a month. We decided every 6 months would be ok. The CV is hard up for good Chinese Restaurants, but this one in La Quinta is always recommended as the best.
My recent visit to Palm Tree Palace in Palm Desert was underwhelming. The soup dumplings I ordered were undercooked, lacked freshness, and were disappointingly dry. The orange chicken was more skin and sauce than actual chicken.
Their food, service, and atmosphere are wonderful. We had so many different dishes to taste, including the live fish, and loved it. My favorites are duck, fish, beef, and beens inside the bread.
