About Pagoda Inn
Pagoda Inn, located at 7315 Post Rd in North Kingstown, RI, is a Chinese restaurant that has been serving the local community for many years. As a part of the Chinese Restaurant category, Pagoda Inn aims to provide a dining experience for those seeking familiar Chinese-American cuisine in a local setting. Based on customer reviews, the restaurant appears to have cultivated a strong sense of community and is praised for its staff, while recent feedback also raises significant concerns about cleanliness and food quality.
The environment of Pagoda Inn, according to one long-time patron who has been visiting since 1992, is exceptionally welcoming and positive. This reviewer emphasizes the family-like atmosphere, where many customers know each other, leading to frequent laughter and a sense of community. The description suggests a warm and inviting space where guests feel like they belong. The mention of Danny, the bartender, as a particularly great person who is always willing to listen, further paints a picture of a friendly and personable establishment. This long-term positive perspective suggests that Pagoda Inn has historically fostered a strong connection with its local clientele, creating a comfortable and convivial setting for dining.
The services at Pagoda Inn appear to be characterized by a highly attentive and welcoming staff. The long-term reviewer consistently praises the staff for being the "best in the world," describing them as positive, always at one's "beck and call," and making everyone feel like family. This level of personal connection and attentiveness suggests that Pagoda Inn prioritizes customer service and aims to create a positive and memorable experience through its staff interactions. The mention of the bartender, Danny, as a key figure who is always available for conversation, implies that the bar area might be a central point of social interaction within the restaurant.
A significant feature of Pagoda Inn, based on the positive long-term review, is its strong sense of community and the exceptional rapport between the staff and regular customers. The feeling that "everyone is family" and the prevalence of laughter indicate that Pagoda Inn serves not just as a place to eat but also as a social hub for the local community. The loyalty of customers who have been visiting for decades underscores the strong bonds formed within the establishment. This community-centric atmosphere is a unique feature that sets Pagoda Inn apart and likely contributes significantly to its long-standing presence in North Kingstown.
However, a more recent review paints a starkly contrasting picture regarding the food and cleanliness of Pagoda Inn. This customer described the restaurant as "horrible & dirty," raising serious concerns about the hygiene of the establishment. Furthermore, they reported that the crab rangoon had a "funny taste" and the beef lo mein was excessively "oily," leading to a feeling of illness. This negative feedback highlights potential issues with food quality and preparation, suggesting a significant decline or inconsistency compared to the positive experiences of long-term patrons. The severity of these comments, including the mention of feeling sick, warrants serious consideration.
Currently, the provided information does not include any specific promotional details for Pagoda Inn. The long-term positive review focuses on the welcoming atmosphere and staff, acting as an implicit endorsement of these aspects. However, the recent negative review concerning food and cleanliness could potentially deter new customers. Local users considering dining at Pagoda Inn should be aware of these conflicting recent experiences. To inquire about any potential specials or promotions, or to address the recent concerns about food quality and cleanliness, contacting the restaurant directly would be advisable.
In conclusion, Pagoda Inn in North Kingstown, RI, presents a mixed picture based on the available customer reviews. While it has a long history of fostering a strong sense of community with a welcoming and attentive staff, as highlighted by a loyal customer of nearly three decades, a recent review raises serious red flags regarding the cleanliness of the restaurant and the quality of its food, specifically mentioning issues with crab rangoon and oily beef lo mein causing illness. Local users should weigh these contrasting perspectives when considering Pagoda Inn. The establishment's long-standing presence and the strong positive sentiments of long-term patrons suggest a history of positive experiences, but the recent negative feedback indicates potential current issues that warrant caution. Further investigation or recent experiences from other customers might be helpful in forming a balanced opinion of Pagoda Inn today.

I moved to NK back in 1992 I have been coming here most of my life... best staff in the world so welcoming so positive and always at your beck and call....I hope that anyone that comes here gets what I'm talking about... everyone is family I could never ask for more out of a restaurant everyone that comes know each other so you'll always hear laughter somewhere...Danny the bartender the man love that guy always a great person to talk to on any given day bad or good he'll listen and that's just how everyone there is
Horrible & dirty, crab Rangoon had a funny taste, beef lo mein was oily I think l'm gonna be sick, here I go!
Best scorpion bowls... I had anywhere in the state! The string bean and chicken plate was Awesome!
So here goes. I ordered tea with my food and I got what I would consider was a child's size glass. We all know these glasses are gonna be full of ice so even less to drink aside of small glass. Waitress took way too long to refill my tea and where I was really upset was I was charged for every single little refill. I'm a full grown man, how can an 8oz glass full of ice be enough? Then to purposely charge per refill? I believe the food is great here but won't be eating in again. Service was poor from this one particular waitress on a slow night. She has no excuse.
Time to refresh this restaurant; it’s definitely in need of remodeling. Service is good there, and the food is generally decent, but you want to grab your food and run, not really a nice place to hang out.
