About P.F. Chang's
P.F. Chang's is a Chinese restaurant situated at 148 West Bridge St in West Homestead, PA. Based on recent customer feedback, the restaurant appears to have experienced a decline in food quality compared to previous years. One reviewer described the veggie spring rolls as seemingly microwaved and frozen in the middle, while the veggie lettuce wraps featured pale, undercooked romaine stalks and bland, undercooked filling. This customer expressed significant dissatisfaction with these dishes and chose not to order replacements, ultimately being billed for the items they did not enjoy.
Another recent review mentioned a fishy taste in all food items, including salads, and disappointment that wontons were unavailable. The lo mein was described as simply noodles and water without any stir-fried sauce. However, this reviewer found the lettuce wraps to be amazing and praised the service as excellent and world-class, though they were unlikely to revisit due to the food quality.
While P.F. Chang's in West Homestead has received positive feedback for its service in at least one recent instance, it's important for potential diners to be aware of the concerns raised regarding the current quality of some of their dishes. The food quality here has went from amazing years ago, to just okay a few years ago, to legitimately repulsive the most recent and final time I’ve chosen to eat at this establishment. The veggie spring rolls were assuredly microwaved because they are obviously too pale to have been fried. They were still FROZEN in the middle. After my mom and I took a few bites of each, we didn’t finish the rest because we were both bewildered at the awful quality. Next our veggie lettuce wraps arrived, surprising me just at their appearance alone. Pale, undercooked, ROMAINE STALKS of lettuce for…. wrapping filling in? Sure! The first bite of filling was the last. The tofu went from crispy and seasoned to puffy and bland. The other parts of the filling were not cooked thoroughly either. After asking our server some questions about the quality and why it’s not how their food always had been, she asked us if we wanted to choose something else off the menu. We said no thank you and asked for our bill, which still had both items totaling $27 that we had expressed discontent with. Safe to say this is another restaurant on my list.
All food was fishy even the salads, didn't have the wontons (reason for the visit). Lo mein wasn't stirfried in any sauces just water and noodles, the lettuce wraps however, amazing! Service was excellent and world class.. not likely to revisit, i guess it was the wrong time and place.
We ate at this Restaurant on a busy Saturday dinner service. I only wish I could give more than 5 stars! The staff went out of their way to provide us a dinner experience like we were eating at our favorite family's house. Due to health issues, we don't get to eat out much. They went above and beyond to accommodate us. Everyone was so genuinely kind. My heart goes out to the lovely waitress who had an accident. The staff didn't miss a beat, a new waiter appeared to check on us. He was just as kind and caring! If you want a great meal with extraordinary service, choose this restaurant! We drove for about an hour and 15 minutes just to go, and we would have driven even farther for this experience and delicious food!
I used to love P.F. Chang’s. Every once in a while, I will try it again only to be reminded of how bad (and overpriced) it is. Tonight, I ordered the Chang’s Spicy Chicken with brown rice ($20) and a side of Vegetable Spring Rolls ($10) for pickup. It’s Friday night, about 8:30 p.m. The place was practically dead. It used to be bumping… now I see why. The rice was inedible (either severely undercooked or dried out and hard from sitting out too long). Even a little water in the microwave couldn’t reconstitute it. The chicken tasted off, like it was frozen and microwaved. No joke! It was also just a bunch of tiny hard pieces. I felt like I was eating overcooked breading more than chicken. I used to love that you actually got pieces of chicken unlike the typical Chinese food restaurants. That sort of thing is what set apart P.F. Chang’s. The worst part of the meal was the spring rolls. I have no idea what is going on here, but the flavor was appalling. The only thing I could taste of these mushy rolls was pungent and overly sweet ginger. Sad that not even one of these items was good tonight. This is definitely my last try… especially for $30 + tax and tip.
Absolutely I-N-C-R-E-D-I-B-L-E Brussels sprouts and among the best I've had anywhere. My sincerest gratitude to the chef, Lenny, for preparing a dish that was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with just the right balance of caramelized sweetness. The seasoning was the perfect blend of savory and smoky, and the light sprinkle of toasted nuts added the perfect crunch. I was genuinely impressed by the thought and artistry that went into such a seemingly simple vegetable. A five-star experience all around!
