About P.F. Chang's

P.F. Chang's is a Chinese restaurant located at 4540 La Jolla Village Dr in San Diego, CA. They offer a pan-Asian menu. You can contact them at (858) 458-9007 or +1 858-458-9007.

Recent customer reviews present mixed experiences at this location. One reviewer described their order of Korean fried chicken as "gross," criticizing the unlabeled sauces and the quality of the chicken itself, which they found to be mostly inedible fried gristle. They also commented negatively on the "carelessness" of the pan-Asian decorations, pointing out inaccuracies and a lack of authenticity. This reviewer found the existence of the restaurant to be an "affront to good taste" and suggested alternatives.

Another customer, who identifies as a regular patron of P.F. Chang's at other locations, reported a significant letdown during their recent visit to the La Jolla Village restaurant. They experienced issues with their shrimp fried rice, receiving one serving that was excessively hard and dry, and a subsequent remade serving that was overly wet and soupy. Despite the server's attempts to rectify the situation and an offer from the manager to remake the dish again, the customer's appetite was lost. This reviewer expressed disappointment with the inconsistency in food preparation, especially given their past positive experiences with the chain.

One positive aspect mentioned was that the service was "fine." However, the overall feedback suggests potential concerns regarding food quality and the authenticity of the restaurant's ambiance at this particular San Diego location.

Just kinda gross. Ordered the Korean fried chicken on the bone with dipping sauce. It came with unlabeled squeeze bottles of what tasted like sauces they just put on other things, none tasted good for chicken. Biting into the chicken itself was a nightmare. None of the three large pieces were identifiable parts of a chicken like you would get in a KFC bucket. It looked like someone took a cleaver to a chicken blindfolded. Over half of it was completely inedible fried gristle (the picture is what was LEFT. If I wasn’t at a big family dinner I would have refused to pay for it. The other food at the table was pretty mediocre. The carelessness of the pan-Asian decorations is laughable. In one picture I managed to capture a crappy, fake bonsai tree, a Thai Buddha head, a Chinese Taoist gong and two paintings designed by someone with no knowledge of the Japanese language using a translator app lazily (the “way of the Samurai isn’t 侍の道 it’s 武士道). Service was fine. The very existence of this restaurant is an affront to good taste, in both senses. I could only imagine going there if you were staying at the hotel next door. But even if you are, go somewhere else. If you want crappy Chinese food, save some money and door dash Panda Express.

My family and I are regular customers of PF Chang's, enjoying both dine-in and takeout experiences across various locations. However, our recent visit to the La Jolla Village, San Diego restaurant was unfortunately a significant letdown. We ordered our usual dishes: shrimp fried rice, honey chicken, and kids' orange chicken with fried rice. While my family's meals arrived without issue, the shrimp fried rice I received was concerning. The rice grains were excessively hard and dry, almost as if they were undercooked. When we brought this to the attention of our server, they promptly offered to remake the dish. However, the second serving was equally problematic, appearing excessively wet and soupy, almost as if it had been washed. Upon informing our server about this issue, we were told that both orders of rice were from the same batch. This seemed unlikely given that my family's rice was cooked correctly. The manager offered to remake the dish again, but at that point, our appetite had been completely diminished. We were disappointed with this experience, especially considering our consistent patronage of PF Chang's. We hope this feedback is taken seriously to improve the quality and consistency of your food preparation.

Excellent food! Lettuce wraps are a must, and the dynamite shrimp are a fav. Fried rice is addicting. The pad thai is solid. It comes with fried tofu, even if you order chicken, which tastes fine - it's a texture thing with me. But they will accommodate to sub chicken for tofu. Service was super. The people very nice. Parking wasn't my favorite. Their lot fits about 5 cars, and others were making up their own spots.

Remy's customer service was outstanding. She's very attentive and made sure we had what we wanted and if we did not, she made sure we did eventually. Thank you so much Remy. Also, want to give a shout out to Anna at the bar during happy hour, she's great!

Batched margaritas for happy hour that have no hint of tequila. Definitely no Cointreau float, as per the menu. Bartender made them short then topped off with more ice and still short. Dumplings and chicken wraps are delicious. Could be better.
