About P.F. Chang's
P.F. Chang's, located at 12071 Elm Creek Blvd N in Maple Grove, Minnesota, is a well-known establishment in the Chinese Restaurant category that goes beyond traditional Chinese fare, offering a fusion of various Asian cuisines including Thai, Korean, Japanese, and Mongolian dishes. This Maple Grove location serves as a convenient option for residents who may have previously frequented a now-closed Edina location. They can be contacted at (763) 493-9377 or via their mobile number +1 763-493-9377 for inquiries or to place orders.
Based on recent online reviews, P.F. Chang's in Maple Grove generally receives positive feedback for its diverse menu and the quality of many of its dishes, although some inconsistencies in service have been reported. One long-time customer expressed their satisfaction, noting that it is worth the drive to this location to enjoy the menu. They praised the décor as being in a lovely oriental style, with various dining options including tables, booths, and bar seating. This reviewer also highlighted the "Chef’s Feast" as a good value.
This same customer, whose mother grew up in China, appreciated the ability to order signature dishes from a range of Asian culinary traditions, including Chinese, Thai, Korean, Japanese, and Mongolian. They mentioned that the Chicken Lettuce Wraps (with a "wonderful peanut sauce") and the Chicken Pad Thai have been personal favorites for at least 12 years, consistently noting the freshness of the vegetables. On a recent visit, they enjoyed the Mongolian Trio and the Crispy Honey Chicken, both described as excellent, as well as the Egg Drop soup. The brown rice was also reported to be perfectly prepared. However, they noted that the Mongolian Trio, while flavorful, had a pasty texture when reheated the next day, suggesting a potential overuse of cornstarch in the sauces. The service during this visit was deemed great, and the portion sizes were considered fair.
Another significant aspect highlighted in the reviews is the convenience of online ordering for both sushi delivery and pick-up, catering to customers who prefer to enjoy their meals at home. For individuals with dietary preferences, P.F. Chang's offers multiple gluten-free and vegetarian entrees on their menu, showcasing their commitment to accommodating various needs. Parking was reported to be generally accessible, especially when arriving before the prime dinner hours.
However, not all experiences have been uniformly positive. One customer who had an amazing daytime visit reported a very horrible experience during a more recent visit. They found a hair in their soup, which was particularly concerning given the dim lighting in the restaurant. The service was described as "very weird" and slow, despite the restaurant appearing to be mostly empty. The server was perceived as rushing, inattentive to refills, and dismissive when informed about the hair in the food. The manager's response was also reported as unsatisfactory, focusing on offering a discount rather than addressing the hygiene issue adequately. This reviewer ultimately recommended against visiting, suggesting the emptiness of the restaurant might be indicative of underlying problems.
Considering these reviews, P.F. Chang's in Maple Grove offers a diverse menu spanning several Asian cuisines, making it a notable feature for those seeking variety beyond traditional Chinese food. The oriental-style décor contributes to the ambiance of the restaurant. The availability of online ordering for takeout and potentially delivery, including sushi, enhances convenience. The presence of gluten-free and vegetarian options caters to a wider range of dietary needs.
The environment of P.F. Chang's is described as having a lovely oriental style, suggesting an effort to create an immersive dining atmosphere. The mention of tables, booths, and bar seating indicates different options for customer comfort and preference. However, one reviewer noted that the lighting can be quite dark, which might affect the dining experience and could potentially obscure issues like the hair found in the soup.
Services at this location include dine-in, takeout (with online ordering), and potentially delivery (also with online ordering, specifically mentioned for sushi). The service quality appears to be generally good, with attentive and polite servers reported by one customer. However, another recent experience highlighted significant issues with slow, inattentive, and dismissive service, as well as unsatisfactory management response to a hygiene concern. This inconsistency in service is a point to consider for potential visitors.
Features of P.F. Chang's include its multi-Asian cuisine menu, the availability of gluten-free and vegetarian options, online ordering, and the oriental-themed décor. The "Chef’s Feast" is mentioned as a good deal, suggesting potential value-oriented offerings. The popularity of specific dishes like Chicken Lettuce Wraps and Chicken Pad Thai, maintained over many years, indicates their consistent quality and appeal.
Promotional information is not explicitly detailed in the provided reviews. However, the mention of a "Chef’s Feast" suggests that P.F. Chang's may offer set menus or special deals. To learn about current promotions, lunch specials, or any seasonal offerings, local users are advised to check the official P.F. Chang's website, their social media channels, or contact the Maple Grove location directly. Given that one reviewer mentioned online ordering, their website or app would likely be a good source for any advertised promotions.
In conclusion, P.F. Chang's in Maple Grove, MN, offers a broad menu of Asian dishes in a well-decorated, oriental-style setting with various seating options. The convenience of online ordering for takeout and potential delivery, along with dietary-friendly options, adds to its appeal. While many customers report positive experiences with the food and service, a recent review highlights significant concerns about slow and inattentive service, as well as unsatisfactory handling of a hygiene issue by both the server and the manager. Potential local users should weigh the generally positive feedback against this negative experience when considering dining at this location and may want to be particularly attentive to service quality and lighting conditions during their visit. Checking for any current promotions online or by contacting the restaurant directly is also recommended.

Customer Reviews
We now drive to Maple Grove to enjoy P.F. Chang’s menu. We were sad to see the mall at Edina make changes that impacted that location being open. But it is worth the drive. The décor is in lovely oriental style with tables, booths, and bar seating dining options. The Chef’s Feast is a good deal. My mom grew up in China, so being able to order signature Asian, Thai, Korean, Japanese, Mongolian, and Chinese food dishes is important to us. For at least 12 years, the Chicken Lettuce Wraps (wonderful peanut sauce), and Chicken Pad Thai have been among my personal favorites. The veggies are nice and fresh. This time, I ordered the Mongolian Trio, and mom had the Crispy Honey Chicken. Both were excellent, as well as the Egg Drop soup for our starter course. The brown rice was perfectly prepared. The Mongolian Trio had only a few shrimps, some chicken and was mostly beef. While the flavor was excellent, it has a bit of a “pasty” taste if you try warming up left-overs the next day. Seems like too much cornstarch is used in the sauces. The service was great. The potions are of fair size. It is also easy to order online for sushi delivery and also for pick-up. For individuals who have dietary preferences, they have multiple gluten-free and vegetarian entrees on the menu. We’ve been fortunate to gain parking near the door in a free space. You may want to come early during the prime-time dinner hour to get parking. Highly recommend!
I have been to this location twice now and the first time during the day time was amazing! But this last time was very horrible. There was a hair in my soup. Not to mention it is extremely dark in there so if it wasn’t for me using my flash I would have known and would have ate the hair very gross. And the service was very weird, there was a long wait before our server came and it was SLOW like only 3 tables in total. When she did come she was rushing to leave out table and stop talking to us. She messed up our order and walked away before seeing if we would have been okay with the other item of food. She didn’t come over for refill or anything and when I asked her about the hair in my food it seemed like she didn’t care and was like “we can do anything because you have the bundle” the manager was also not any better and basically asked me “what I wanted” because they could give me a discount for having a hair in my soup which again I must remind you is very insanitary. And again she was very short and rushed off. It appears at one point the other co workers were hyping up our server but we weren’t being rude if difficult so it made us feel very weird. The food was ok but the service was bad. I would recommend it’s empty in there for a reason.
I just moved in the area and I’ve been coming to the maple grove PF chang. I really love the atmosphere here and every server I’ve had does a really great job. The food is so quick, it’s the perfect macros after my workout. Shout out to Randi, she greeted me with a smile when I walked in and got my order in quick and easy!! Her attitude is great!! And Ryan is absolutely great too!!
Food, service and atmosphere were great! The pricing is pretty high and I am not seeing the quality or flavor being that much better than any other Chinese restaurant to justify the costs
This is the first time, my wife and I have been there. Since it was Christmas Eve the place was packed! My parents called ahead for reservations. We got seated in timely manner. Overall, the food and experience was great! I really like how they brought appetizers and then waited for the main course to arrive. (Gave us time to enjoy the soup and egg rolls. Without rushing with main course right after that.) The only thing I would say about the experience is, we order chocolate cake to go. The waitress told us “take out for that, will be awhile.” If the customer is asking to take home dessert. They shouldn’t have to wait a while, for it to brought to the table. I highly recommend this place overall. Definitely will be returning soon.
