About P.F. Chang's
P.F. Chang's is a Chinese Restaurant located at 2064 E Beltline Ave NE in Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA. They can be contacted at (616) 447-2060 or +1 616-447-2060.
The establishment is noted for its impressive and modern interior design, featuring a top-notch floor-to-ceiling window design that contributes to its ambiance. Many find the atmosphere appealing, even described as "sexy without trying," making it a nice spot for a date night.
Regarding the food, the Dynamite Shrimp appetizer is a popular choice, described as very good with a creamy, not overly spicy Sriracha flavor. The Firecracker Shrimp entree is also well-received for its delicious flavor and noticeable kick, served steaming hot. Other menu items mentioned include the delicious Brussels Sprouts and the decent, though less ideal for takeout, Lettuce Wraps. The Asian Cesar Salad is also considered good.
The service is generally described as very attentive. While P.F. Chang's is noted to be a bit pricier than some other options, many customers feel that the quality of the food and service justifies the cost. Takeout is also a definite go-to option for those preferring to dine at home.
However, a more recent update from a customer shared a less positive experience with takeout. The Miso Salmon was described as paper-thin, tough, and tasting like jerky. The dumplings were also noted to be very dry. This customer expressed disappointment with the quality of these dishes relative to the price paid ($77 for three dishes and one appetizer) and mentioned a 15-20 minute wait for curbside pickup.
For local users in Grand Rapids looking for a Chinese restaurant with a modern atmosphere, P.F. Chang's offers a variety of dishes, with the Dynamite Shrimp and Firecracker Shrimp receiving high praise. Dining in is recommended for the Lettuce Wraps. While generally known for attentive service and quality, recent feedback suggests potential inconsistencies with takeout dishes like the Miso Salmon and dumplings, as well as possible delays with pickup orders. The price point is also something to consider.

I've always been impressed at how the establishment presents itself. It has a very modern feel feel to the restaurant. The floor to ceiling window design is top notch. The food: The dynamite shrimp appetizer was a small wait but worth it. It was very good and tasted of creamy Sriracha that wasn't too spicy. The firecracker shrimp entree had a kick to it and was delicious. There was flavor in every bite and it's nice to get the food when it's still steaming. It's a nice place for a date night and definite go-to take out. It's a tad pricier than other places but the service/food make it worth it.
Really enjoy the atmosphere it’s sexy without trying. Very attentive staff and a few good eats. Brussels are delicious. Lettuce wraps are not as good to go as they are when you dine in… but still decent. Asian Cesar salad is good. I ordered takeout this time and remembered to take pics! 😬 Key Lime dessert not a winner… In my opinion. Not enough lime flavor. UPDATE had to take out remember before I was generous with the stars but this time no the Miso salmon was paper, thin and taste like jerky tough!!! 😒. The dumplings were super dry and all of this food three dishes, one appetizer two meals for $77 only to get there to have to wait about 20 to 15 minutes in the curbside to go. Not an impressive day!
Suzanna was by far the best experience of our dinner. We went in late hoping to have less people. Apparently many others had the same idea as 6 tables were seated around the same time. Suzanna did a fabulous job of meeting all of our needs, and she had a beautiful smile even while running around like crazy.
TLDR: Surprisingly good food, service, ambience and drinks! (Surprisingly because I’ve visited in the past and was not impressed, but this time fully changed my mind!) We visited in late September (sorry for the late review- I’m catching up and trying to be more consistent in this review leaving hobby 🤪) and the weather was nice. As you can see in the pics and videos. I’m not sure if there is outdoor seating offered, but we dined inside. The restaurant was beautifully arranged with tasteful decor (I imagine all of them are like this, as they are a chain restaurant.) The bar was decently stocked and everything looked clean. Chill, yet high energy music was pumped through the speakers at a medium low level- indicating a posh atmosphere. I ordered a POMEGRANATE LEMONADE (Lemonade, pomegranate juice, mint) and he ordered a Diet Coke. For the starter, we ordered the CRAB WONTONS (Creamy crab filling, bell pepper, green onion, spicy plum sauce) which were SO good! Many crab wontons/Rangoons/what have you are filled mostly with cheese but these contained an ample serving of crab inside, so I was quite pleased. I was also happy that an even number of wontons was served- I hate when they bring 5- then there’s the whole “YOU take it”, “No, YOU! I insist!” thing that goes on and it’s mildly annoying- so hooray for an even number of wontons! 🤣 He ordered a bowl of the WONTON SOUP (Savory broth, pork wontons, shrimp, chicken, mushrooms) which was delicious and served appropriately hot- nice as many places serve the soup luke warm which is lame. We didn’t realize-because we didn’t thoroughly read 🤦🏼♀️- that the soup could serve 4 people so we ended up taking a lot of that home, as we had each ordered an additional entree. He ordered the SWEET & SOUR CHICKEN (Sweet & sour sauce, pineapple, onion, bell pepper) which came with a small bowl of rice. He very much enjoyed it. I ordered the PAD THAI (A classic approach to rice noodles, wok-tossed with egg, tofu, green onion, peanuts, cilantro, bean sprouts) with added shrimp. It was pretty great and I was sated. It’s been a few months since we dined here so… looks like it’s time to go back! Will update with anything else we order. I’m looking forward to leaving room for dessert next time, and perhaps a cocktail or two. 😋 🍹 🍨
My husband and I came in to celebrate our birthdays and Juliya was fantastic! She was very attentive, friendly, and accommodating. Some changes to the food have been made since the last time I was in and she went above and beyond to have the kitchen prepare some of the old sauce to pair with my food. When you visit, I would highly suggest you try to sit in her section.
