About Oriental Delight
Oriental Delight is a Chinese restaurant located at 3093 SC-14 Suite J, Greer, SC 29650, USA, serving the local community with a range of Chinese dishes. As a member of the Chinese Restaurant category, Oriental Delight primarily functions as a takeout establishment, offering the convenience of enjoying Chinese cuisine at home. They can be contacted at their telephone number, (864) 288-4668, or their mobile number, +1 864-288-4668, for placing orders or inquiries.
Information regarding the specific ambiance and interior of Oriental Delight is not detailed in the provided customer reviews. Typically, takeout-focused Chinese restaurants prioritize functionality and efficiency for order preparation and pickup. Customers might expect a counter area for placing and collecting orders, and perhaps a small waiting space. Elaborate décor is usually not a primary feature of such establishments. Therefore, a detailed description of the restaurant's environment cannot be accurately provided based on the available information.
The primary service offered by Oriental Delight, as indicated by the customer reviews, is takeout. Customers place orders, likely via phone or in person, and then pick up their meals to consume off-premises. One positive aspect mentioned is the speed of preparation, with one reviewer noting that their order was made quickly. The portion sizes are also considered good by at least one customer, and order accuracy was another noted positive point. It is advisable to contact the restaurant directly to inquire about their full menu and any potential delivery options, although delivery is not mentioned in the reviews.
Customer reviews of Oriental Delight present a mixed perspective on the food quality. While one reviewer stated they "enjoyed it" and found the "food was delicious" with "awesome" customer service, the majority of the detailed feedback highlights significant concerns regarding the taste and quality of various dishes.
One reviewer gave a 2-star rating, explicitly stating that while the order was quick, hot, with good portions, and correct, the food itself was "not good" in terms of taste and quality. This suggests that while Oriental Delight may excel in efficiency and order fulfillment, the culinary aspect might be inconsistent.
Specific dishes received varied feedback. The rice was noted as the "best part" by one reviewer, although they suggested the inclusion of vegetable or pork fried rice options. This indicates that while the plain rice might be satisfactory, the menu could benefit from more diverse rice offerings.
The sesame chicken sauce was described as "thin and tangy" with few sesame seeds and accompanied by only three "barely steamed broccoli florets." This suggests a lack of richness and expected elements in a popular dish, as well as a minimal portion and quality of the accompanying vegetable.
The General Tso's chicken was reported to have the "same sour tasting sauce" as the sesame chicken, with a "slight hint of heat" and only one "raw-ish broccoli floret." This reinforces concerns about the sauce quality and consistency across different dishes, as well as issues with the preparation and quantity of vegetables.
The fried dumplings were particularly criticized, with one reviewer stating they "reminded me of the frozen ones I buy regularly from the grocery store." They were described as "par boiled and barely fried," lacking the desired firm and crispy texture, and were noted to be "very tiny." The accompanying sauce was described as "indescribable and confusing," indicating a significant issue with its flavor and quality.
In contrast to the generally negative feedback on entrees and appetizers, the wonton soup broth received high praise, being described as "AMAZING!!" with "fresh scallions throughout." However, the wontons themselves were criticized for being "very doughy," and the meat filling was said to have a "soggy meatballs consistency." This highlights a significant disparity in the quality of different components within the same dish.
Another critical point raised by a reviewer was the lack of standard condiments provided with the order. Despite ordering two starters and two entrees, they received only two hot mustards, with no soy sauce or duck sauce. Additionally, the order included a bag of "stale wonton chips" and no fortune cookie, which are often expected with Chinese takeout orders. This lack of standard accompaniments detracts from the overall customer experience.
The single positive review mentioning "delicious" food and "awesome" customer service stands in contrast to the more detailed negative feedback. This suggests that experiences at Oriental Delight may be inconsistent, or that different customers have varying expectations and palates.
Promotional information for Oriental Delight is not mentioned in the provided customer reviews. Takeout restaurants may occasionally offer special deals or combo meals, but there is no indication of any current promotions based on the available feedback. To inquire about any potential discounts or special offers, direct contact with the restaurant would be necessary.
In conclusion, Oriental Delight in Greer, SC, is a Chinese restaurant primarily offering takeout service. While praised for its speed, portion sizes, and order accuracy by some, a significant portion of the customer feedback raises concerns about the taste and quality of various dishes, including the sauces, meat, vegetables, and appetizers. The wonton soup broth is a notable exception, receiving positive remarks. Additionally, there are concerns about the lack of standard condiments and the quality of the included extras. Potential customers should consider these mixed reviews when deciding whether to order from Oriental Delight.

Customer Reviews
2 stars because it was made quickly, it's hot, portion is good and my order was correct. Not 5 stars because the food is not good, taste, quality. The rice was the best part, although it would be better if options like vege FR or pork FR were available. The sesame chicken sauce is thin and tangy. Few sesame seeds. 3 barely steamed broccoli florets. General Tsos chicken had the same sour tasting sauce with a slight hint of heat. 1 raw-ish broccoli floret. Fried dumplings reminded me of the frozen ones I buy regularly from the grocery store. Delicious when firm and crispy, these seemed par boiled and barely fried. Very tiny. The sauce that accompanied them, is indescribable and confusing. The wonton soup broth is AMAZING!! Fresh scallions throughout. The wontons themselves are very doughy and the meat has a soggy meatballs consistency. I'm not sure if sauce is by request only, but our 2 starters and 2 entrees came with only 2 hot mustards. No soy sauce. No duck sauce. A bag of stale wonton chips accompanied our order. Also, no fortune cookie.
I enjoyed it. Customer service was awesome. Food was delicious. I'm interested in trying other food. Will return
They are a combination of Chinese food and Hibachi. I bought general tso's chicken and they provided me with some white hibachi sauce. I was very surprised at how that Japanese sauce worked with my Chinese food!
I stumbled upon this fantastic restaurant after a forgetful moment of blanking out on its name. After scouring through every similar restaurant in Greer, I finally rediscovered this hidden gem! The staff here are not only attentive but exceptionally friendly, with a special shout-out to the woman who made our dining experience truly delightful. Her warm demeanor added an extra layer of charm to the place. Now, let's talk about the food. The pricing is just right for the incredible portions served. It's rare to find a place that strikes the perfect balance between quality and affordability, but this restaurant has nailed it. Each bite was a burst of flavor, and the menu offered a delightful variety that satisfied every craving. I can't recommend this place enough for anyone in Greer or passing through. It's the kind of spot that turns a forgetful moment into a memorable find. I'll definitely be returning to explore more of their menu. Kudos to the entire team for creating such a wonderful dining experience!
Oriental Delight is a great spot in Greer for classic Chinese comfort food. I was really impressed with the General Chicken – it was flavorful and the portion was generous. The prices are reasonable, and the owners/staff are friendly, making it a perfect choice for a casual meal.
