About Oriental Chop Suey

Oriental Chop Suey, a Chinese restaurant located at 7252 Natural Bridge Rd in St. Louis, Missouri (63121, USA), caters to the local community with a menu of Chinese cuisine. As a "Chinese Restaurant" featured on our platform, Oriental Chop Suey aims to provide convenient access to Chinese food for residents and visitors in the area. They can be reached by phone at (314) 875-9068 or via mobile at +1 314-875-9068 for inquiries or to place orders. The mention of online ordering also suggests a digital avenue for customers to place their takeout orders.

As a local Chinese eatery, Oriental Chop Suey likely offers a selection of popular American Chinese dishes. Based on customer reviews, their menu includes items such as Orange Chicken dinners, which may come with sides like crab rangoons and a canned soda (in this case, Vess). They also seem to offer variations of fried rice and other dishes like the St. Paul sandwich (specifically a veggie St. Paul mentioned in one review).

Recent customer feedback provides some insights into the dining experience at Oriental Chop Suey. One customer who ordered the Orange Chicken dinner noted that the main dish was "nice" but not particularly special. They mentioned the presence of "little pieces of broccoli" with the chicken. This customer also expected pork fried rice based on their selection but received regular fried rice instead. Their experience with the crab rangoons was negative, describing them as a disappointing "conglomerate mess." Additionally, they noted that fortune cookies were no longer included with dinners and that a "ridiculous convenience fee" of almost $2 was applied to their online takeout order.

In contrast, another reviewer mentioned that the restaurant has "new owners" and reported that the food is "good, hot, and seasoned well." This suggests a potential improvement or consistency in the quality of the food under new management. This reviewer also advised that the restaurant is very busy during lunchtime, recommending that customers avoid calling between noon and 1 pm and instead opt for going in person or ordering online for faster service.

A separate, brief comment noted that a "veggie St Paul was delicious," indicating that Oriental Chop Suey offers and successfully prepares this regional specialty.

Considering these reviews, potential customers of Oriental Chop Suey should be aware of a few key points. The Orange Chicken appears to be a standard offering, though perhaps not exceptional. There might be discrepancies between expectations and what is received regarding rice type. The quality of the crab rangoons seems to be a point of concern for at least one customer. The absence of fortune cookies with dinners is also something to note. Furthermore, online takeout orders may incur a convenience fee.

On a more positive note, the new ownership seems to have brought about food that is considered "good, hot, and seasoned well" by at least one customer. The restaurant is also recognized for efficiently handling lunchtime rushes through in-person or online ordering. The availability of local favorites like the veggie St. Paul is another potential draw.

For local users in the Natural Bridge Road area of St. Louis looking for a Chinese restaurant, Oriental Chop Suey presents itself as an option with both traditional dishes and local specialties. The availability of online ordering adds to the convenience for takeout. However, potential customers may want to consider the mixed feedback regarding specific dishes like the crab rangoons and the unexpected fees associated with online orders. The positive comments about the food being good and well-seasoned under new ownership are encouraging.

As there is no information provided about the restaurant's environment or any specific promotional offers, local users should primarily focus on the available feedback regarding the food and services. If ambiance or dine-in experience is a priority, additional information would be needed, perhaps by contacting the restaurant directly or searching for further reviews online.

In conclusion, Oriental Chop Suey, located on Natural Bridge Road in St. Louis, is a Chinese restaurant offering takeout and online ordering. Customer reviews suggest that while some dishes, like the veggie St. Paul and possibly others under new ownership, are well-received, there have been issues with the quality of certain items like the crab rangoons and discrepancies in order fulfillment. The presence of a convenience fee for online takeout is also a factor to consider. Potential customers may find it beneficial to weigh these points and perhaps inquire about specific dishes when placing an order.

Ordered the Orange chicken dinner (with 2 crab ragoons and a Vess can soda). The main dish was nice, nothing to special about it. There was little pieces of broccoli with the chicken. I thought it came with pork fried rice (which I selected) but it was just regular fried rice. I dont think Crab Ragoons are supposed to look like and taste like a conglomerate mess of bull. I dont know what I expected. The dinners also doesn’t come with fortune cookies anymore :( Theres also a ridiculous convenience fee for almost $2 that I had to pay even though I ordered take out online

They have new owners but their food is good, hot. And seasoned well. They are very busy at lunchtime, so try not to call them between noon and 1 pm. It's faster to just go there or order online. My veggie St Paul was delicious.

I recently visited this restaurant and decided to try the roasted duck. Unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. The duck tasted more like a boiled, bland turkey or chicken rather than the authentic, crispy-skinned, juicy, and savory roasted duck I was expecting. On a positive note, their fried food is excellent, which might be worth trying if you visit. However, the dine-in experience left much to be desired. The atmosphere didn’t feel welcoming, and there were numerous gambling advertisements, which detracted from the family-friendly vibe they seem to aim for. Additionally, I was quite put off by the sign stating there are no refunds if you don’t like your food. To make matters worse, there was no public restroom available, which was a significant inconvenience, especially since I was traveling and really needed one.

My experience here could be summed up as expensive and disappointing. I ordered a special jumble Saint Paul sandwich with cheese and cheese fries. The service is slow. I waited almost an hour for my order, and the place was well-staffed and not at all busy. I paid nearly 17 dollars for a sandwich and fries. There was nothing special about the food that wasn't worth the price. With the best Wing Stop in town and Lee’s nearby, there’s no logical reason to waste your hard-earned money at this place. You will not save money at this place. Eat something good like IMO’s, Lee’s, or Wing Stop. You deserve it!

So I live this place, especially the egg rolls, but on 3 1 4 day they disappointed big time. No organization at all, at least 5 people working and still had to wait over and hour for my food. I called in my order a 538 p.m arrived at 610 didn't get my food until 650. The kicker for me was me asking for 1 free soda due to the wait and spending $59.00 this girl said with a smile, I'm sorry we don't do that😕 girl are y'all serious. I'm so disappointed in them rn..... do better people like myself been patronizing your business since the early 2000's this was crazy. And be better prepared for a holiday like 3 1 4 day🫡 I wasn't the only one waiting over an hour for my order.
