About Orient Express
Welcome to Orient Express Restaurant, a Chinese Restaurant located at 3200 N Graham St in Charlotte, North Carolina. With contact phone numbers (704) 332-6255 and +1 704-332-6255, Orient Express serves the local Charlotte community, offering a variety of Chinese dishes. As a Chinese Restaurant, we aim to provide our customers with a range of options for their dining needs, though recent customer feedback provides specific insights into the experiences of some patrons.
Based on recent reviews from customers who have dined at or ordered from Orient Express, there have been some concerns raised regarding the quality and taste of certain dishes, as well as the service received. One customer expressed significant dissatisfaction with the fried rice, describing it as "some of the worst fried rice I’ve ever eaten from a Chinese restaurant." According to this reviewer, the preparation seemed overly simplistic, consisting merely of white rice with added eggs and soy sauce. This customer also noted that the cashiers acted "weird" and stated that they would not be returning to the restaurant. Furthermore, they rated the Egg Foo Young as "maybe 3/10" and reported an issue with a sauce order, where they paid for a different sauce but received an extra portion of the same gravy they already had.
Another customer echoed a similar sentiment regarding the food quality, describing their experience as "beyond straight. Mid… trash if you will." They specifically criticized the rice as "bland" and advised others not to come to Orient Express expecting a satisfying culinary experience. This reviewer also found the Sesame chicken sauce to be of poor quality ("poo"). Their overall assessment was negative, suggesting that the food did not meet their expectations for a flavorful Chinese meal.
These two recent reviews provide direct feedback on the food quality of specific dishes at Orient Express. The fried rice, a staple in many Chinese restaurants, was described as poorly prepared and lacking in flavor. The Egg Foo Young received a very low rating, and there was a reported issue with a sauce order, indicating a potential lack of attention to detail. The Sesame chicken sauce was also heavily criticized. The overall tone of both reviews suggests a significant level of disappointment with the food served.

Without further information, it is difficult to describe the ambiance or decor of the dining area. Local users interested in the environment might consider visiting the location to form their own opinion or looking for any available photos online.
In terms of services, the reviews imply that Orient Express offers both dine-in and takeout options, as customers have eaten at the restaurant and ordered food. However, there is no mention of delivery services in the provided feedback. The negative comment about the cashiers acting "weird" raises a concern about the customer service at the counter. The issue with the incorrect sauce order also points to potential problems with order accuracy. Local users might want to be mindful of these comments when interacting with the staff and placing their orders.
Features of Orient Express Restaurant are not positively highlighted in the recent feedback. Instead, the reviews point out potential shortcomings in the preparation of key dishes like fried rice, Egg Foo Young, and Sesame chicken. Some of the worst fried rice I’ve ever eaten from a Chinese restaurant. They literally took white rice, then added eggs and soy sauce only. The cashiers acted weird. I will never go back. Egg Foo Young was maybe 3/10. Asked and paid for different sauce to end up with extra of the same gravy.
I don’t even trip on food like that but this was beyond straight. Mid… trash if you will. If you like bland rice, come here. & The Sesame chicken sauce was poo. Don’t come here thinking u gon be leaving wit ya taste buds happy.
Doesn't look like very much from the outside, or the inside for that matter. But, look's can be very deceptive. The owner was present, manning the cash register and she was very nice. The waitress on the floor was very friendly and engaging. The restaurant was very clean and was handicap accessible. The chicken wings were humongous and were freshly cooked, as were all of the entrees. The portions were extremely large, filling and satisfying. There to-go business was extremely brisk and with virtually no wait time whatsoever. In one of my pictures, you can see a half order of wings(2) and they look up virtually the whole plate. No frills Chinese takeout place with a few tables that were totally full when I picked up my online order. Prices are pretty reasonable.
First, we were completely surprised by how much food was in each order! We are used to smallish containers for an order of lo mein, we were eating off that one item for days. The service was incredible, they kept our food hot until we arrived and packed it up. The hostess even ran after us for some sauce that was forgotten. That sauce went with the crab ragoon and was incredible! Best ragoon I've ever had frankly, and had actual chunks of crab in it. Extremely reasonable in price. This has become our go to Chinese restaurant!
