About 醉得意

醉得意 is a Chinese restaurant located at 714 59th St in Brooklyn, NY, specializing in Fuzhou cuisine. Despite a potentially low rating that one reviewer finds "unreasonable," this restaurant is described as a "hidden treasure" offering an exceptional culinary experience.

Customers rave about the amazing taste of every dish, highlighting the rich soups and the freshness of the ingredients, suggesting a memorable dining experience that leaves a lasting impression. The owner is also noted for being very welcoming, contributing to a pleasant atmosphere.

While the environment is described as not luxurious, it is consistently mentioned as clean and tidy, evoking a comfortable feeling similar to dining at a familiar hometown restaurant. One reviewer speculates that the lower rating might be due to the location being somewhat out of the way or a lack of sufficient publicity, rather than the quality of the food or service.

Another brief comment indicates satisfaction with recent updates to the dishes, suggesting a continuous effort to improve and please customers. For those who appreciate authentic Fuzhou cuisine, 醉得意 comes highly recommended, with the advice to not be deterred by the ratings and to try it firsthand for a potentially delightful and unforgettable meal.

This Fuzhou restaurant is truly a hidden treasure! The taste is amazing, every dish is amazing, the soup is rich and the ingredients are fresh, you will never forget it after eating it once. The boss is also very welcoming. Although the environment is not luxurious, it is clean and tidy. It feels like eating at a restaurant you often visit in your hometown. But I don’t know why the rating is so low, it’s really unreasonable! Maybe it’s because the location is a bit out of the way, or maybe it’s not publicized enough. But this is definitely a good restaurant worth a special trip to eat at. You will fall in love with it after eating there once. Highly recommended to all friends who like Fuzhou cuisine, don’t be scared by the ratings, come and try it for yourself, you will definitely not be disappointed!

Protect yourself from lightning. First of all, the environment is smoky and the boss won't stop them from smoking. The men and women at the next table are smoking. There is almost no space between the tables. It really stinks. Secondly, the dishes are seriously so bad. I have never tasted them so bad. Three people ate a total of 250 dishes. None of the dishes were ok. Did the chef in this restaurant not know how to add salt? Even the water spinach was tasteless and only had oil. The serving speed was extremely slow. After half an hour, only one dish of boiled shrimp was served. Those things on Xiaohongshu that say they are delicious are all advertisements, right? ? ? This dining experience really makes me angry and depressed to this day.

The table was reserved at 5 o'clock, the dishes were ordered at 5:30, the meal started at 6 o'clock, and people were kicked out at 8 o'clock. They were kicked out without saying a word in advance. Is it because I didn't get a small tip or that I could only sit for 2 hours? No one explained. The bill was 950, which was supposed to be free of tip, but this I still tipped $100, and the total consumption was $1,050. I didn’t even see a small plate of fruit, let alone a dessert. This was the only time in so many years of eating at 8 Avenue that I was kicked out by a lady from Qitai, who didn’t even have time to pack it up. Thanks I have learned a lesson. Maybe I am ugly and not popular, but money is not ugly. I can’t comment on the taste, everyone has different tastes. There is no evaluation of the food. Even if you ask whether it is good or bad, they will reply that they just bought it today.
