About Ocean Restaurant

Welcome to Ocean Restaurant, a Chinese restaurant located in the Harlem neighborhood of New York City, at 393 Malcolm X Blvd, New York, NY 10027, USA. As a member of the Chinese Restaurant category, Ocean Restaurant aims to serve the local community with a variety of Chinese culinary offerings. Based on the limited customer feedback available online, the restaurant appears to elicit contrasting experiences among its patrons, with both positive and significant negative remarks regarding the food quality.

One customer identifies themselves as a "Chinese food lover" and expresses consistent satisfaction with their orders from Ocean Restaurant, stating that they are "never disappointed with anything I order." This positive testimonial suggests that for some diners, Ocean Restaurant provides enjoyable and satisfying Chinese cuisine. This reviewer does, however, express a preference for whole chicken wings rather than wingettes, indicating a minor personal preference regarding a specific menu item's presentation.

In stark contrast to this positive feedback, another reviewer raises a serious concern about the quality and preparation of a specific dish: the stir-fried chicken. This customer described the chicken as being so white that they threw it away, and they explicitly questioned whether bleach was used in its preparation. This is a severe accusation that, if accurate, would indicate a significant issue with the restaurant's food handling and cooking processes. The reviewer concluded by stating that they do not trust the process, which suggests a deeply negative experience and a lack of confidence in the restaurant's food safety standards.

Given the limited information available in these two reviews, it is challenging to provide a comprehensive overview of the environment, services, and features of Ocean Restaurant. The positive review offers no details about the ambiance or the service, focusing solely on the consistent satisfaction with the food. Conversely, the negative review centers entirely on a perceived issue with a single dish, raising serious red flags about food quality but also not providing insights into other aspects of the restaurant.

The absence of details about the environment leaves potential local users with no information regarding the restaurant's decor, cleanliness, or overall atmosphere. Similarly, there is no feedback on the service provided by the staff, such as their attentiveness, efficiency, or friendliness. The reviews do not mention whether the restaurant offers dine-in, takeout, or delivery services, although the presence of a phone number ((212) 289-9290 and +1 212-289-9290) suggests that customers can likely place orders for pickup or delivery, and possibly make reservations if the restaurant offers dine-in.

The features of Ocean Restaurant, based on the limited information, are primarily that it is a Chinese restaurant serving a variety of dishes, including at least stir-fried chicken and potentially whole chicken wings (though they reportedly serve wingettes). The strong divergence in the two reviews highlights a potential inconsistency in food quality or preparation, where some customers may find the food consistently satisfying, while others might encounter significant issues with specific dishes.

There is no information whatsoever regarding any promotional offers, lunch specials, or other deals that Ocean Restaurant might be running. Local users interested in trying this restaurant would need to contact them directly using the provided phone numbers to inquire about their menu, services, and any current promotions.

In conclusion, Ocean Restaurant in Harlem, New York, presents a highly uncertain picture based on the limited and conflicting customer feedback. While one reviewer expresses consistent satisfaction with their orders, another raises a very serious concern about the quality and potential safety of their stir-fried chicken. This stark contrast suggests that the dining experience at Ocean Restaurant might be highly variable. Potential local users should approach with caution and perhaps consider inquiring further about the restaurant's food preparation standards before placing an order. The lack of information about the environment, services, and any promotional offers further complicates the ability to form a comprehensive assessment of this Chinese restaurant.

One of the better Chinese spots in the area. The food is always fresh, delivery is quick and they remember orders. There are more than a few Thai-style options on the menu. This is also one of the few places that knows how to make the large, moist-style scallion pancakes. The smaller meal sizes and appetizers are varied and just as filling as the larger combination plates.
