About Number One China Buffet

Number One China Buffet is a Chinese restaurant located at 456 E Carmel Drive, #2812, in Carmel, Indiana (zip code 46032). As a prominent establishment in the Chinese restaurant category within the Carmel area, Number One China Buffet distinguishes itself by offering an all-you-can-eat buffet experience. They can be contacted for inquiries at (317) 569-0608 or via their mobile number +1 317-569-0608.

According to customer reviews, Number One China Buffet provides a notably affordable dining option. One reviewer specifically mentioned the price of $11.89 for the all-you-can-eat buffet, considering it to be "very worth" the cost. This suggests that a key feature of this restaurant is its budget-friendly pricing, making it an accessible choice for individuals and families looking for a substantial meal without a high price tag.

Another first-time visitor described their approach to navigating the buffet. They initially took a small portion of each dish they were interested in to sample before committing to larger servings on their second round. This strategy highlights the benefit of a buffet setting, allowing diners to explore a variety of flavors and dishes without the risk of ordering an entire plate of something they might not enjoy. The reviewer further emphasized the value proposition, stating that for around $12, customers can access a wide array of choices and eat as much as they like, for as long as they wish. This underscores the core appeal of an all-you-can-eat format: variety and quantity at a fixed price.

Beyond the main dishes typically found in a Chinese buffet, Number One China Buffet also offers a selection of fruit, drinks, ice cream, and desserts, all included in the buffet price. This adds further value to the dining experience, providing options for a complete meal from appetizers to sweet endings, along with beverage choices. This inclusive offering caters to a broad range of preferences and ensures that diners have ample choices to satisfy their entire meal.

In terms of service, the reviews provide positive feedback. One customer described the cashier as "pretty nice" and the waiter serving the tables as "very polite and humble." This suggests that the staff at Number One China Buffet are attentive and courteous, contributing to a pleasant dining atmosphere. While the ambiance might not be luxurious, as one reviewer noted, the overall environment is described as calm and quiet, with polite and respectful people. This indicates a comfortable and unpretentious setting where diners can enjoy their meal in a relaxed atmosphere.

However, not all experiences have been entirely positive. One customer who ordered the chow mein chicken through a third-party delivery service reported significant disappointment. The dish they received appeared to be a large quantity of vegetables, primarily chopped onions, mixed with chicken in a soup-like consistency, served with fried rice, but without any noodles. This was particularly surprising to the customer as online descriptions of chow mein typically indicate it as a stir-fried noodle dish. The customer expressed uncertainty about whether this was an incorrect order or an unconventional preparation of chow mein. Given the lack of a photo on the ordering platform, they were unable to verify the dish beforehand and felt that a clarification on the menu would have been helpful, especially considering the $15 price paid. This negative experience highlights a potential issue with the accuracy of online menu descriptions or order fulfillment for delivery services.

Despite this negative delivery experience, the positive reviews from dine-in customers emphasize the affordability, variety, and polite service offered at Number One China Buffet. The buffet format allows for exploration of different dishes and generous consumption for a fixed price, which many find appealing. The inclusion of fruit, drinks, ice cream, and desserts further enhances the value. The calm and quiet environment, coupled with respectful service, contributes to a comfortable dining experience for those who appreciate a relaxed setting over a luxurious one.

Currently, there is no specific promotional information mentioned in the provided reviews. Local users interested in any special deals, discounts, or ongoing promotions at Number One China Buffet are advised to contact the restaurant directly at (317) 569-0608 or +1 317-569-0608 to inquire. They may also have information about their menu for delivery services to avoid any confusion regarding dish descriptions.

In summary, Number One China Buffet in Carmel offers an affordable all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet experience with a wide variety of dishes, including fruit, drinks, ice cream, and desserts. The service is generally praised as polite and humble, and the atmosphere is calm and quiet, appealing to those seeking a relaxed dining environment. While there was a reported issue with a delivery order not matching the expected description of chow mein, the dine-in experience seems to be positively received for its value and variety. Local users looking for an affordable and plentiful Chinese meal with a buffet format may find Number One China Buffet a worthwhile option to consider.

I ordered the chow mein chicken through uber eats and I was very disappointed because it has no noodles. Even though I searched online and it says it is a stir fried noodles type! It was kind of bunch of vegetables soaked in chicken soup like a pound of chopped onions and chicken with fried rice. It looks like they used onions instead of noodles but I honestly don't know if this is how a chow mein cooked or whether I got the wrong order yet the receipt is displaying chow mein chicken. Anyway I'm never ordering again if there is no photo. A clarification would be nice because I paid like 15$ for this!

The inside when you walk in is not appealing at all kinda trashy and stuff piled all around the counter area. There was no one inside eating at all at 850 pm. The food tasted bad was not good at all. Everything in the buffet looked old and looked like they have that food sitting there waisting away, seems like a huge amount of food they would have to throw out. The inside of the place needs a total remodel to make it look and feel comfortable inside again. It needs closed down and I am surprised the health department has them open at all. Instead of the employees walking around inside eating stuff from the buffet or sitting at a table half asleep doing nothing, they need to be cleaning.. Do better or close your store it's garbage and disgraceful to serve your nasty food to us. It's actually a 0 stars ๐ŸŒŸ restaurant. Do better China buffet or just close down.

Do not waste your time in your hard earned money!!! When I walked in there was barely any food, so I literally got scraps. The reason why I even pay to eat is because I drove from work looking for a Chinese buffet that I would typically go to near my home, but they were closed on Monday so I decided to come to this location and when I walked in, I should have walked immediately right out. From the pictures in the attachment doesnโ€™t serve 100% justice because I took the pictures as I already ate and walked out. So many people came in and so many people turned around. I walked in at 6:53 PM And food was old and was sitting for a while. How disgusting!
