About Northern Cafe Noodle House

Discover Northern Cafe Noodle House, a Chinese restaurant located at 10965 Weyburn Ave in Los Angeles. It's important to note that this establishment focuses specifically on noodle dishes, distinguishing it from other similarly named restaurants in the area that may specialize in hot pot or dumplings.

Customers have generally praised the service at Northern Cafe Noodle House, describing it as great and friendly. One reviewer noted the waitress's patience in explaining different dishes, particularly the lamb skewers, to their group. The restaurant utilizes a digital ordering system, which some diners may find reminiscent of dining experiences in China.

The appetizer selection includes cold dishes such as woodear mushroom and cucumber, both receiving an 8 out of 10 rating from one reviewer. These dishes are described as having a typical sour and savory flavor, with a noticeable presence of garlic, especially in the cucumber. The mini lamb skewers were also sampled, with a suggestion for a larger serving portion and the inclusion of cumin as a dipping spice, a common practice in China.

The noodle dishes, specifically the sliced beef noodle and Dan Dan noodle, received mixed feedback. One reviewer found both to be mediocre and lacking in flavor, especially the Dan Dan noodle. However, another customer simply stated that "The food was good!" and praised the large portion sizes, indicating they were unable to finish their meal. This customer also mentioned a waiter with "swagger" and expressed their intention to become regular patrons.

Overall, experiences at Northern Cafe Noodle House appear to vary. While one reviewer, identifying as Chinese, expressed reservations about the authenticity of the flavors and would not recommend it, others have found the food to be good and the portions generous. If you're interested in trying a variety of noodle dishes and don't prioritize strict authenticity, Northern Cafe Noodle House might be worth a visit. We were initially confusing this place with two other Northern Cafes in the area (Hot Pot and Dumpling House). This one is the noodle house which means they specialize in noodle dishes. The service was great and friendly. The waitress was patient and explained different types of dishes as our friends had questions about the lamb skewers. Everything is ordered digitally (reminded me of the time in China). We ordered a few cold dish appetizers: - Woodear mushroom: Typical flavor of sour and savory with some garlic (8 out of 10) - Cucumber: Similar taste as woodear but with a lot more garlic (8 out of 10) Followed by mini lamb skewers: I feel they need to increase the serving portion and with cumin as a dipping spice (as how every restaurant does in China). Ended with two noodle dishes: One sliced beef noodle and one Dan Dan noodle. Both were mediocre and lack the flavor needed, especially for Dan Dan noodle. As a Chinese, I would not recommend this restaurant, but if you just want to give it a try and do not mind its lack of authenticity, go for it!

The food was good! The portions are large. I couldn't finish mine. The waiter had swagger. We will be back. They'll be on our regular rotation now.

The food was terrible. I ordered a spicy beef noodle with bacon fried rice. The taste was bland with no flavor. The veggies on the fried rice were straight from a frozen bag and microwaved. The soup/broth was just boiled water with no seasoning on the beef. The only positive was that the waitress was kind, even though she never came back to refill my water. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE.

Went in to get take out. The girl was very friendly. I ordered malatang (my favorite food) since I saw a sign outside for it. I went home, opened it and noticed it had no color, I tried a piece of food and it had some peanut seasoning but there was no spice at all, flavorless the peanut flavor was so faint. I called and they told me that’s how it’s made, there was chili oil included but that is not spicy and I’m white. Also the amount of chili oil would not be enough for the food.
