Based on recent customer reviews, experiences at North Village Chinese Restaurant appear to be largely negative. One local resident, after trying the restaurant for the first time, reported a disappointing experience despite noticing previous customer traffic. They found the hot and sour soup to have a globby texture and lacking flavor, also noting it was not served hot. While they mentioned the wonton soup was quite good and a highlight, the crab rangoon was described as average.

The fried rice was considered decent but needing more seasoning, and the noodles were found to be sticky and bland. The Mala G. Beans Chicken was described as unappetizing and lacking taste, and the Moo Goo Gai Pan also fell flat in flavor. Overall, this customer's first visit left much to be desired, though they mentioned a possibility of returning for another try.

Another reviewer expressed extreme disappointment with their order of General Tso’s Chicken, which they received with an excessive amount of runny sauce, resembling soup. They also noted the lunch price of $14.95 as costly.

Further feedback described the overall experience as "AWFUL," with the unsolicited wonton soup not improving the situation. This customer deemed their visit a waste of time and money, although they did commend the host/server's general disposition.

Prospective customers are advised to consider these recent and overwhelmingly negative reviews regarding food quality and overall dining experience when making a decision about visiting North Village Chinese Restaurant.

North Village Chinese Restaurant - 1 Stars After living in Dayton my entire life, I finally decided to give North Village Chinese Restaurant a try, especially after noticing a few customers coming in for takeout. Unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. I had high hopes based on the foot traffic, but the food did not live up to my expectations. To start with, the hot and sour soup was a letdown. It had a globby texture and lacked any real flavor, which was surprising. I had never tried it before, so maybe this is how it is typically served, but I found it to be unappetizing and not even hot. On a brighter note, the wonton soup was quite good—definitely the highlight of my partners meal. The crab rangoon was average; it was okay but nothing that stood out. The fried rice was decent, but it really needed more seasoning or flavor to elevate it. I found the noodles to be sticky and bland, which was disappointing. The Mala G. Beans Chicken was particularly unappetizing and lacked any definitive taste, while the Moo Goo Gai Pan also fell flat in terms of flavor. Overall, I was hoping for a better experience at North Village. While I did enjoy the wonton soup, the rest of the meal simply did not impress. I may return to give it another shot, but my first visit left much to be desired.

When you ask for General Tso’s Chicken and you get a container with an extreme amount of a running sauce resulting in something more like SOUP… the outcome is sorely disappointed. What an unpleasant experience. Not to mention costly. 14.95 for lunch!!! You could have kept the wonton soup. After the “unrequested, unsolicited soup” I did not want to add additional insult to energy. This overall experience was “AWFUL!!!” The only part of the encounter that could be loved upon favorably was the general disposition of the host/server. Such a waste of time and money.
