I had an amazing dining experience at Nomad Tea Parlour in Manhattan! From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was absolutely beautiful — cozy, modern, and perfect for a relaxing afternoon meal. I sat in a booth with a perfect view of the restaurant, which really set the vibe. My son and I started with sparkling water and ordered three delicious starters: the crab meat egg rolls, sticky ribs, and General Tso’s chicken. For our entrée, we had the Singapore Duck Fried Rice paired with more General Tso’s chicken — every bite was flavorful and fresh! The service was exceptional — our waiter checked in on us regularly, making sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. I also enjoyed a soothing mint tea which was the perfect touch to end my meal. Although they have a beautiful bar area, I didn’t indulge in a cocktail this time since it was a Sunday afternoon — but I’ll definitely be back for a Saturday night experience! I also loved that they have a spacious room in the back for larger parties, which makes this a perfect spot for future celebrations. Highly recommend Nomad Tea Parlour for the food, service, and overall experience. I’ll absolutely be back again!
I never had such good Chinese food! For sure in NY, this restaurant is one of the best place where to eat with a good price. Dumplings were delicious and the soup.. the soup was AMAZING! Spice, tasty, the meat was soft and good! Really good food quality! Price is honest and well balanced with the dishes! For sure again :)
Overall rating: 4.4 My friend has been wanting to try this so we gave it a try for lunch on a Sunday. Making a reservation was easy but we could have easily just walked in. I didn’t know anything about this place, but just by walking in - I knew I was going into an overpriced, overhyped place. The decorations were way over the top. My friend and I ordered the: - Lychee Shrimp: 5/5 very different which was good - Crab & Pork soup dumplings: 3/5 nothing special - XO Rice Rolls: 5/5 I really liked these but my friend who’s Chinese said they were just okay - String beans: 4/5 good, but very oily - Side of vegetable fried rice: 0/5 NOTE this does not get served as a side even though you get offered it as an option. They actually charge you $18 and it’s a full on meal. I thought some of the food was good, but my friend noted overall it’s very oily compared to what it’s supposed to be. Take that however you want, but I think we’re better in Chinatown.
Full tummy’s great food fast service price reasonably…. celebrating my son‘s sixth birthday with a quick lunch while his dad was in town highly recommend close to the airport..
Came here for the first time with a friend since she said she enjoyed the food and atmosphere there during her last visit. We saw they were doing Restaurant Week so we were very excited to try out their RW dinner menu at a discounted price of $45. While the service and atmosphere were all lovely, I unfortunately was let down by the food they decided to serve for RW. We both decided to order different dishes so that we could try. We ended up picking the Cucumber Salad, Pork Wonton Soup, Garlic Stir-Fry Pork, Crispy Spiced Fish Filets, Blistered Beans, Scallion Pancakes. Our favorites out of everything were the Scallion Pancakes and the Blistered Beans although the green beans didn't quite have that snap to it that I would have liked. Not a deal breaker though. However, the biggest disappointments were the entrees. The pork pieces were cut quite unevenly, resulting in the small, thinner pieces to be very tough and rubbery when I tried to bite into it and the bigger pieces to be just fine. The sauce also felt way too strong and salty in my mouth, that not even the vegetables and rice could save it for me. As for the Fish Filets, they were lacking in flavor and we noticed halfway through the dish that the flavored oil was at the bottom of the dish? Not quite sure if the oil was supposed to be coating the fish or not. Biting into the filets was also tougher than expected since the batter was chewier and thicker, instead of a crispier crust. The yuengyueng ice cream for dessert definitely helped to end the meal on a sweet note, as it tasted like the nostalgic bubble tea I used to have at the bakeries when I was a child. However, as someone who is Chinese and has eaten dishes like the stir-fried pork and crispy fish filets, but with better execution and lower price point at other Chinese restaurants in the city (I know this restaurant being in Time Square is a big factor of the price), I am unsure if I would come back for more of their food.
