About No 1 Chinese Restaurant

No 1 Chinese Restaurant, located at 6325 Wichita St, Forest Hill, TX 76119, USA, is presented as a Chinese restaurant serving the local community. However, recent customer reviews paint a deeply concerning picture of this establishment, focusing on severe hygiene issues and unprofessional service that potential customers should be urgently aware of. The feedback suggests significant problems that go beyond typical restaurant complaints, indicating potential health hazards.

One particularly disturbing review recounts a customer finding "roaches in the lo mein." Upon contacting the restaurant to request a refund, the customer was instructed to return the food. Upon returning, the staff allegedly demanded to see the roach before processing the refund, expressing what the customer perceived as feigned surprise. The reviewer further stated that they had read other reviews indicating that the restaurant was aware of roach problems, with a previous complaint mentioned three months prior. Shockingly, the reviewer also pointed out that there were other reviews mentioning roaches from just three weeks and one month prior to their own experience, directly contradicting the restaurant's alleged claim of a three-month gap. This account strongly suggests a persistent and unaddressed pest control issue within the restaurant, coupled with unprofessional handling of customer complaints.

Another alarming review reinforces the serious hygiene concerns. This customer explicitly warns others to "DO NOT EAT HERE!" stating that their daughter found both a hair and a roach leg in her takeout food. This reviewer also noted that other customers had reported similar experiences in their reviews, leading to the conclusion that the restaurant is "unhealthy" and should be shut down until the problems are "completely corrected." The reviewer urgently called for the Fort Worth Health and Sanitary Inspector to conduct an audit of the restaurant and enforce compliance with food service health regulations, describing the establishment as "disgusting." This review underscores the potential for widespread contamination and the urgent need for intervention by health authorities.

The consistent theme in these reviews is the presence of pests, specifically roaches, in the food served to customers. This is not only a matter of unpleasant dining experience but also a significant public health risk. Roaches are known carriers of various bacteria and pathogens that can cause illnesses. The fact that multiple customers have reported finding roaches and their body parts in the food suggests a systemic problem with pest control and sanitation within No 1 Chinese Restaurant.

Furthermore, the unprofessional handling of the refund request by the staff, as described in one review, indicates a lack of proper customer service protocols and a dismissive attitude towards serious complaints. Demanding to see the roach before issuing a refund, especially in light of multiple similar complaints, suggests a lack of accountability and a failure to prioritize customer health and satisfaction.

Given the severity of these allegations, including the direct evidence of roaches and hair in food, and the apparent awareness of ongoing pest issues by the restaurant, potential local users should be extremely cautious about patronizing No 1 Chinese Restaurant. The information available does not provide any positive aspects regarding the environment, services, features, or promotional information of the restaurant. Instead, the focus is entirely on critical health and safety violations reported by multiple customers.

The absence of any positive feedback or information about the restaurant's ambiance, service quality (beyond the negative interaction regarding the refund), or any unique features is overshadowed by the serious health hazards reported. There is no mention of any efforts by the restaurant to address these issues or any promotional offers that might entice customers, which is understandable given the severity of the problems highlighted.

In conclusion, the available customer reviews for No 1 Chinese Restaurant in Forest Hill, TX, raise significant and alarming concerns about food safety and hygiene. Multiple reports of finding roaches and hair in the food indicate a severe pest control problem and a lack of adequate sanitation practices. The unprofessional handling of a customer complaint further exacerbates these concerns. Local users are strongly advised to consider these serious issues before deciding to dine at or order from this establishment. The feedback suggests that No 1 Chinese Restaurant may pose a significant health risk to its patrons, and the urgent call for intervention by health authorities underscores the gravity of the situation.

Roaches in the lo mein!!! I called back and asked for a refund and they said i needed to take the food back to get my $ back. When I got there, they said they wanted to see the roach before giving me a refund . Like what??? 😩 I told them to not act surprised about the roach, because I read the other reviews and the guy said they’re aware, but it has been three months since the last time someone complained about a roach in their food. ….like what?? Funny because there’s another review form 3 weeks ago and one from a month ago. This place is gross and unprofessional!!!

DO NOT EAT HERE! My daughter found a hair and a roach leg in her takeout food. There are other people complaining of the same experience in their reviews, which indicates that this place is unhealthy and needs to be shut down until the problem is completely corrected. Someone please notify Fort Worth Health and Sanitary Inspector to do an audit of this restaurant and enforce compliance with food service health regulations. This place is disgusting!

First off if you're a local and call most asian buffet "Chinese food" then you will have zero problems with the menu. If you're looking for something that's more contemporary that you seen on tiktok then you probably won't like it. It's not my go to place for beef fried rice but the portions were generous and the service was fast and friendly. One order that lasts me 2 meals for 10 bucks is hard to do in 2024. They also do large orders for big events for a really good price worth calling and asking. My only complaint was no egg in the fried rice. Now I did not ask for it so that's on me. Also I probably would have to pay double currently.

I really like the food, but I don't like it when the owners serve me. The Chinese owners. Because they serve you. 5 tons of rice. And a small piece of meat. And. 10 tons. of broccoli. I prefer. that the employees serve me. They are more considerate. Not like the owners.

This place has baby roaches crawling everywhere , and the Chinese lady behind the counter knows but doesn't do anything about it . Plus she's very bitter and rude , hard to understand and treats her employees very badly. She needs to learn manners and learn how to treat her employees and customers with respect. Won't be coming back .
