About No 1 Chinese Restaurant

No 1 Chinese Restaurant, located at 6119 W North Ave in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, offers meal delivery services categorized under Chinese Restaurants. However, recent customer reviews raise significant concerns regarding the quality of their food.

One customer who ordered an appetizer platter for delivery on December 13, 2024, reported a severely negative experience. They described several items as inedible, including "rancid and spoiled" fried shrimp, "soggy and old" crab rangoon and pork dumplings, "jerky-like" barbecue pork, and "odd gray color and dried up" chicken wings. According to this review, only the beef sticks and egg rolls were acceptable. This customer stated they would not order from the restaurant again and had also left feedback on their website.

Another customer expressed extreme disappointment with their order of orange chicken, which they found to be expensive ($21) and lacking in chicken, with the container primarily filled with rice. They also criticized the dumplings as being poorly prepared, with meat that tasted like "dog food" and contained "many fatty parts," and were not properly fried. The orange sauce was also described as "not good."

A third reviewer echoed concerns about declining food quality coinciding with rising prices. They specifically mentioned the use of "fillers" in breaded chicken, resulting in a lack of actual chicken in the dish, which they perceived as a cost-saving measure at the expense of quality. This customer also expressed frustration with the high levels of sugar and salt typically found in Chinese-American food, compounded by a reduction in protein and an increase in flour and sugar.

Based on these recent customer reviews, local users considering meal delivery from No 1 Chinese Restaurant should be aware of the reported issues concerning food quality, ingredient authenticity, and value for money. The feedback suggests potential problems with freshness, preparation, and the overall composition of dishes.

I ordered the appetizer platter for delivery on 12/13/24. The fried shrimp was rancid and spoiled. The crab rangoon and pork dumplings were soggy and old. The barbecue pork was like jerky. The chicken wings were an odd gray color and dried up. Only the beef sticks and egg rolls were edible. I also left feedback on their website. I will never order there again.

So, I’ve never ordered from here before this and I’m extremely disappointed. Not only is it expensive (this was $21) it didn’t have any chicken in it. I ordered the orange chicken and it appears they’ve filled it with rice and literally no chicken. Next the dumplings are the laziest I’ve ever seen from an Asian restaurant. The meat literally tastes like dog food and had many fatty parts nor was the dumpling properly fried. The orange sauce was not good. I’m really tired of seeing prices for food go up and the quality of the food go down. The fact they put fillers into what’s suppose to be breaded chicken and no chicken is absurd! Just to save money. Lessen the portions if you must but please stop skimping on the quality of the food. It’s bad enough Chinese-American food is full of sugar and salt, but now you take away the protein and put in more flour, sugar, and salt?!?

Easy online ordering experience through grub hub. Food was ready at pickup with a friendly staff. Seasame chicken was awesome.

We are really disappointed that the Mongolian Chicken was mainly onions and celery; barely any little pieces of chicken. The whole bowl full of onions, celery and mushrooms went to the garbage. 👎🏽 If you value your customers, please take it into consideration!!! 👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽
