About No 1 Chinese Restaurant
Welcome to No 1 Chinese Restaurant, located at 605 E Nash St in Spring Hope, North Carolina. As a local establishment within the Chinese Restaurant category, No 1 Chinese Restaurant can be contacted at (252) 478-9989 or via their mobile number +1 252-478-9989 for orders and inquiries. However, it is crucial for local users to be aware of recent customer feedback which raises significant concerns about the quality of food and overall dining experience.
The available customer reviews for No 1 Chinese Restaurant paint a starkly negative picture, particularly regarding the current state of the food. One highly critical reviewer strongly advises potential customers to "not order from this restaurant" and suggests driving further to find a better alternative. This reviewer described their experience as a "complete waste" of over $60, stating that "nothing was edible." Specific issues highlighted included "incredibly poor" presentation and food that was "extremely bland and greasy." Furthermore, they noted that the noodles were overcooked, and the chicken was dry and difficult to chew. This comprehensive negative assessment strongly suggests a severely unsatisfactory culinary experience.
Another reviewer echoed this negative sentiment, drawing a comparison to a perceived decline in quality since a change in ownership. This customer explicitly stated that the sesame chicken with rice they received was "truly unedible," emphasizing this point with "no exaggeration." Based on this experience, they declared that they would exclusively patronize another Chinese takeout restaurant, Great Wall in Nashville, from that point forward, indicating a complete loss of confidence in No 1 Chinese Restaurant.
Considering these two reviews, the recent customer experiences at No 1 Chinese Restaurant appear to be overwhelmingly negative. The issues raised are significant, encompassing poor presentation, lack of flavor, excessive greasiness, improper cooking of key components like noodles and chicken, and an overall inedible quality in at least one instance. The comparison to a previous positive experience under old ownership suggests a potential decline in standards that local users should be aware of.
The services offered by No 1 Chinese Restaurant likely include takeout, given the nature of the negative reviews which describe ordered meals. It is also possible that they offer dine-in services at their location on E Nash St in Spring Hope, but this cannot be definitively determined from the provided feedback. Regardless of the service format, the critical aspect highlighted by the reviews is the severely compromised food quality.
Features that might have been positive under previous ownership are no longer evident in the recent feedback. The current reviews do not mention any specific dishes that are well-prepared or any aspects of the restaurant that stand out positively. The strong recommendations to avoid the restaurant altogether suggest that there are no redeeming qualities currently being experienced by these customers.
No information regarding the environment of No 1 Chinese Restaurant is provided in the reviews. Customers focused solely on the negative aspects of the food quality and presentation, indicating that these issues were the primary concern and overshadowed any potential observations about the dining space itself, if one exists and was utilized by the reviewers.
Similarly, there is no mention of any promotional information in the provided reviews. Given the strong negative feedback, it is unlikely that potential customers would be swayed by promotions without significant improvements in food quality. Any past positive reputation or promotional efforts seem to be negated by the recent unsatisfactory experiences.
In conclusion, the recent customer reviews for No 1 Chinese Restaurant in Spring Hope, NC, raise serious concerns about the restaurant's current food quality, presentation, and overall edibility. Both reviewers strongly advise against ordering from this establishment, with one suggesting an alternative in a neighboring town. Local users should carefully consider this feedback before deciding to patronize No 1 Chinese Restaurant, as the experiences described indicate a high risk of receiving a substandard and potentially inedible meal. It would be prudent to seek more recent reviews from other platforms to ascertain if these issues are isolated incidents or indicative of a broader trend in the restaurant's current performance. Based solely on the provided information, proceeding with caution is strongly advised.

Customer Reviews
Listen to me when I say I should have paid attention to the reviews, and you should, too. Do not order from this restaurant. Drive a little further to find a better Chinese restaurant. The presentation was incredibly poor, and the taste was extremely bland and greasy. The noodles were overcooked, and the chicken was dry and difficult to chew. I spent over $60, and it was a complete waste. Nothing was edible.
They used to be great with old owners. Now the sesame chicken with rice I got was truly unedible! No exaggeration! Go to great wall in Nashville! It's the ONLY Chinese take out in the area for me from now on!
They used to be ok. Food just ok. But it would be ready when you order. Now. They will take your order and not actually be open to call you 4 hours later to see if you still want it. Or tell you five to ten minutes. You drive here and they start cooking. Totally unprofessional and not worth it. Too bad Spring Hope does not have any good choices. I cannot support any local restaurants here. I’ve given this place multiple chances. Today was the last time.
It seems like they got a new cook or menu or something?? Everything different, cooked hard and unappetizing. Egg rolls were burnt. The crab rangoons are awful and burnt. I will make the drive to another town before buying food here as long as it is being cooked this way. Don't waste your money. It used to be so good. Not sure what happened.
For the past 6 years this has been our go-to Chinese restaurant. We ranted and raved about this place to others, but not anymore!! 🤢The food is awful now. Reading the other reviews it seems they are under new management, which makes sense. Our go to order of General Tso chicken USE to be delicious since it was actual chicken (lightly fried). What we received last night was NOT the original deliciousness we raved about. It was hard, crunchy fried pieces with hardly any sauce, and we didn’t see the actual chicken. I took 5 bites and threw it in the trash. The only pro are the eggs rolls. We will be searching for a new Chinese restaurant as this one is crossed off the list! 🤢
