About No. 1 China Restaurant

No. 1 China Restaurant, situated at 2738 N Hwy 67, Florissant, MO 63033, USA, is a Chinese restaurant serving the local community. For inquiries or orders, they can be reached via phone at (314) 830-3330 or mobile at +1 314-830-3330. As a Chinese Restaurant, No. 1 China Restaurant aims to provide a selection of Chinese cuisine for residents and visitors in Florissant, MO, with a focus on both dine-in and takeout options.

The environment of No. 1 China Restaurant receives mixed commentary from customers. While specific details about the interior decor or seating arrangements are not extensively provided, one highly critical review refers to it as a "nasty chop suey," which strongly suggests concerns about cleanliness and overall upkeep. This direct and negative descriptor implies an environment that is not tidy or well-maintained, potentially impacting a customer's perception of hygiene and comfort. However, it's worth noting that other reviews do not explicitly mention cleanliness issues, focusing more on service or food quality. This disparity suggests that environmental perceptions might be subjective or that issues could be intermittent. Generally, for a local Chinese restaurant, the expectation is often for a functional and clean space, and the "nasty" comment points to a potential area of concern for prospective diners who prioritize a pristine eating environment.

Customer service at No. 1 China Restaurant presents a significant dichotomy in customer feedback. On one hand, a strongly negative review explicitly states "Horrible customer service," indicating a poor interaction with staff. This same reviewer also noted frustration with extra charges for additional ingredients (egg, onion, or scallions) that were allegedly not provided, leading to a feeling of being overcharged without receiving the paid-for items. This points to potential issues with transparency, order accuracy, and customer satisfaction during the ordering process. This experience suggests that service can be problematic, particularly when it comes to accommodating specific requests and ensuring accurate order fulfillment. In direct contrast, another review describes the service as "always friendly and quick," highlighting a positive and efficient experience. This sharp divergence in opinions suggests that service quality at No. 1 China Restaurant might be inconsistent, varying from excellent and accommodating to frustrating and unhelpful depending on the individual interaction or circumstances. Such variability can make it difficult for new customers to predict their experience.

The features and menu offerings of No. 1 China Restaurant also elicit varied responses. One customer found the "food quality was hot and bland," indicating a lack of flavor despite being served at the correct temperature. This highlights a culinary inconsistency where dishes might not meet expectations for taste. The specific issue of being charged for "extra egg, onion, or scallions" but "NOT give it to you" is a significant feature relating to deceptive practices or poor order management, directly impacting customer trust and satisfaction. This type of practice, if consistent, would be a major deterrent for many patrons. On the other hand, a more positive review describes the food as something that "definitely hits the spot," suggesting that while "probably not the best food ever," it fulfills a craving and offers a satisfying meal for its price point. The restaurant advertises itself as offering "authentic and delicious tasting Chinese cuisine" with "varieties of taste and freshest ingredients" on its official website, which directly conflicts with the "bland" and "nasty" descriptions from some customers. This disparity implies that the actual dining experience might not always align with the restaurant's stated standards. The menu generally includes comfort food staples such as lo mein and crab rangoon, and is listed to include popular items like chop suey, various chow mein and lo mein dishes, egg rolls, and St. Paul sandwiches, indicating a broad offering of typical Chinese-American fare.

Regarding promotional information, the provided customer reviews contain strong direct statements that act as anti-promotional messages, such as "SAVE YOUR MONEY… DON’T ORDER HERE!" and "SAVE YOUR MONEY !!!!! No.1 china restaurant is horrible." These urgent warnings from dissatisfied customers directly undermine any positive promotional efforts the restaurant might undertake. While the restaurant's website attempts to promote itself with phrases like "convenient location and affordable prices" and "friendly atmosphere and excellent service," these claims are directly challenged by the negative customer feedback regarding service issues, food quality, and hidden or unfulfilled charges. For local users in Florissant, MO, considering No. 1 China Restaurant, the available information suggests a significant risk of dissatisfaction due to potential issues with customer service (especially concerning extra charges), inconsistent food quality, and possibly an untidy environment. In a competitive market with other Chinese restaurants, such strong negative sentiments can make it challenging for the establishment to attract new clientele and retain existing ones, despite a single positive review acknowledging friendly service and acceptable food for its value. The prevailing customer sentiment in the provided reviews leans heavily towards caution and disappointment, which overshadows any inferred positive promotional aspects.

SAVE YOUR MONEY… DON’T ORDER HERE! I will never return to this nasty chop suey. Horrible customer service. The food quality was hot and bland. Lastly, if you ask for extra egg, onion, or scallions. They’ll charge you for it. However, they do NOT give it to you. I’ll rather go somewhere that can follow simple instructions for food I AM paying for. HUHAN Chop Suey did an amazing job. thankfully!I highly suggest them over No.1 China Restaurant! SAVE YOUR MONEY !!!!! No.1 china restaurant is horrible.

I will start by saying that the owners of the business were very friendly when trying to help me, but this situation has been frustrating. I wasn't aware that a Door Dash driver would be delivering my food since I placed my order for delivery through No. 1 China Restaurant's website directly. The website needs to clearly state to customers before they place their orders that delivery is through Door Dash, not a "trusted third party deliver service." Door Dash is not a trusted third party delivery service. My Door Dash driver never delivered my food. If I knew that delivery would be through Door Dash, I would have just gone to pick up myself. I've since issued a refund with Door Dash, and I hope money is refunded both to me and this establishment. Door Dash Driver, if you can hear me: I hope you enjoyed my food and my tip! Happy Holidays!

Ordered honey chicken with chicken fried rice. Chicken fried rice costs $2 extra but barely any chicken. Rice had no flavour and no veggies besides onions. They put broccoli in their honey chicken and it tasted awful. Only reason I’m giving 2 stars and not 1 is because the honey chicken part was good.
