About Ni's Wok

Ni's Wok is a Chinese restaurant located at 703 Merchant St in Ambridge, Pennsylvania (zip code 15003). As a part of the Chinese Restaurant category in the Ambridge area, Ni's Wok has apparently been a local fixture for a significant period. They can be contacted at (724) 266-5850 or via their mobile number, +1 724-266-5850 for orders and inquiries. Based on recent customer reviews, it has come to light that Ni's Wok has recently undergone a change in ownership, and this transition appears to have had a noticeable impact on the food quality and taste, according to some long-time patrons.

One reviewer, who expresses familiarity with Ni's Wok over the past 30 years, indicates a significant decline in the quality of the food under the new ownership. This customer explicitly requests that the new owners revert to the previous methods and recipes that had been in place for three decades, stating that "things don't taste the same" anymore. This suggests a considerable shift in the preparation or ingredients used, leading to a less favorable experience for this long-term customer.

Another reviewer echoes these concerns, mentioning that they had heard about the change in ownership and the subsequent deterioration of the food quality. Despite being a consistent patron of Ni's Wok for six years, they express disappointment with a recent order, stating that the food has transformed into something unrecognizable compared to its previous standards. This customer believes that the restaurant has changed suppliers, which they attribute to the decline in quality. Specific dishes were highlighted as being particularly problematic.

The reviewer described the standard fried dumplings as resembling pierogi in appearance and being excessively dry, a stark contrast to what they were accustomed to. The cheese wontons were noted for an "oddly chunky and terrible" consistency, indicating a significant change in texture and possibly recipe. Furthermore, the egg rolls were described as being overly salty and lacking flavor, suggesting an imbalance in seasoning. Even the lo mein, a staple of many Chinese restaurants, was criticized for being greasy. Overall, this reviewer characterized their recent order as an "all around disappointment for a neighborhood staple," emphasizing the negative impact of the changes on a restaurant that was once a reliable choice.

The reviewer concludes with a direct question to the new owners, questioning the rationale behind acquiring a business with a history of good food and then making changes that have apparently led to a decline in quality. This highlights the frustration and disappointment felt by at least one long-time customer due to the perceived negative changes implemented by the new management.

Based on these two recent customer reviews, it is evident that the change in ownership at Ni's Wok in Ambridge, PA, has been met with significant concern regarding the quality and taste of the food. Long-standing customers, who had previously enjoyed the restaurant, are expressing strong dissatisfaction with the recent changes, citing issues with the preparation, ingredients, and overall taste of several key menu items, including fried dumplings, cheese wontons, egg rolls, and lo mein.

The reviews do not provide any information about the environment of the restaurant, such as its decor or ambiance, nor do they comment on the service beyond the impact on food quality. There is also no mention of any promotional offers or changes to the menu beyond the apparent alterations in recipes or suppliers that have affected the taste and quality of the dishes. The primary focus of the recent feedback is the perceived decline in food quality following the change in ownership.

For local users in Ambridge, PA, who may have been familiar with Ni's Wok under its previous ownership, it is important to be aware of these recent reviews indicating a significant shift in the quality of the food. If you have not visited Ni's Wok since the change in ownership, your experience might differ considerably from past visits. The negative feedback from long-time patrons suggests that the restaurant may no longer offer the same standard of Chinese cuisine that it was known for. Potential new customers should also take these recent experiences into account when deciding whether to try Ni's Wok.

In conclusion, Ni's Wok in Ambridge, PA, a Chinese restaurant now under new ownership, has received recent negative feedback from long-time customers who report a significant decline in the quality and taste of its food. Issues have been noted with several dishes, including fried dumplings, cheese wontons, egg rolls, and lo mein. Local users who were familiar with the restaurant prior to the change in ownership should be aware of these reported issues, and new customers should consider this feedback when making their dining choices. As of the information available, there are no positive recent reviews to counter these concerns regarding the food quality under the new management.

I'm not sure what the new owners have done but please undo it and go back to how things have been for the last 30 years. Things don't taste the same.

I had heard there are new owners & that the food was different, in a bad way. I didn't want to believe it but after 6 years of consistently good food it's turned into something I don't recognize. My recent order was terrible. They changed suppliers for sure. The standard fried dumpling look like pierogi and are super dry. The consistency of the cheese wontons was oddly chunky and terrible. The egg rolls where salty and flavorless. The lo mein was greasy. Just an all around disappointment for a neighborhood staple. Why would you buy or take over a business and change everything for the worse?

I have been here a few times for lunch. Food is always hot and fresh. The lunch menu is very affordable. I usually get General Tsos chicken with fried rice. And pork eggroll. It's always good. Had Crab Rangoon once. It was average. If you are looking for good lunch spot for carryout. This is it. Cheap and tasty.

Probably the best Chinese takeout around a 10 mile radius. The food is delicious and you get quite a lot of food for the price your paying. The place is CASH ONLY, but theres an atm right across the street. Staff are pretty friendly, and very good cooks. Everytime I went, for the past 15 years, ive never had any issues with this place. ~ and love getting food here still! Keep on rockin Ni's Wok, youll keep Ambridge going ~♡
