About New Yummy

New Yummy is a Chinese restaurant located at 6901 Ogontz Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19138, USA. You can contact them at (215) 276-3838 or their mobile number +1 215-276-3838. Situated in the Ogontz and East/West Oak Lane area of Philadelphia, New Yummy is described by a local patron as a "hole in the wall" favorite, primarily offering takeout service.

According to customer reviews, the quality of the takeout food can be inconsistent, sometimes being great and other times sub-par. This variability is potentially attributed to the kitchen being overwhelmed, especially during busy periods such as weekend hours when many local residents order from New Yummy. The restaurant may have one cook multitasking, which could impact consistency during peak times.

New Yummy has some notable advantages. Customers appreciate the expedient takeout service, allowing for quick meal pick-up. Additionally, the cashier is consistently described as friendly towards customers, contributing to a positive interaction during order collection.

However, there are areas needing improvement. The interior waiting area for customers is considered outdated and in need of complete renovation. The current waiting space is very small, and adding a few seats would be beneficial, particularly for older customers who frequent New Yummy.

Despite the environmental concerns, some specific dishes are highly recommended. The shrimp egg foo young, General's chicken, and wings are highlighted as delicious options by at least one satisfied customer.

In summary, New Yummy offers a convenient takeout option for Chinese food in the Ogontz area with fast service and a friendly cashier. However, customers should be aware of potential inconsistencies in food quality and a dated, small waiting area if they choose to pick up their orders in person. Popular dishes include the shrimp egg foo young, General's chicken, and wings.

A hole in the wall Philly Chinese local favorite – situated in the Ogontz and East/West Oak Lane area. The takeout food can be great at times, and then other times sub-par. I feel that the kitchen can be overwhelmed when there is one cook trying to multi-task – especially during busy times when area residents flock to this locale – especially during the busy weekend hours. Pros: Expedient takeout service, cashier exudes friendliness towards customers. Cons: Interior waiting area for customers need to completely renovated, everything inside of the building is outdated. A few seats added to the very small waiting area would be nice, especially for those older folks who patronize New Yummy.

This is the first time I actually came to this location for Chinese food. And when I got there it was clean and the food was pretty good. And when I say this trainees corner store had everything from you check pregnancy test to costume jewelry. To Colgate toothpaste and toothbrushes. When you leave this location you're going to get everything you need and more

Food is pretty good and reasonable cost. However, I have one complaint when ordering Pork Yat, there is NEVER enough gravy to cover all the noodles, and when you ask for them to put enough gravy they charged me 50 cents more. Personally, I feel there should be enough gravy and if a customer ask for a little more gravy they should not be an additional cost its only gravy.

I typically enjoy the food a lot, but I was disapointed to see that the food staff was not wearing masks while prepping the food. We called, explaining why we would not go in or pick up our order. They didn't say a word, and I hung up.
