About New York Lovers Chinese Restaurant

New York Lovers Chinese Restaurant is located at 820 South Alma Dr #180 in Allen, Texas (phone: (972) 649-4222 or +1 972-649-4222). Recent customer reviews present a somewhat divided picture of this Chinese Restaurant.

One customer expressed significant dissatisfaction, describing their experience as "terrible." They reported dry beef in the fried rice and small, dry, beef jerky-like pieces in the boneless spare ribs. They also mentioned observing a staff member playing with a child's hair in the kitchen and found the front counter staff to be rude. This reviewer, who had enjoyed the food previously, felt the quality had declined considerably.

Another reviewer had a more positive initial impression of the food's taste but raised concerns about additional charges for items like Chinese hot oil, suggesting this cost should be included in the dish prices, aligning with other restaurants in the area. They also noted that the restaurant is family-owned and operated and closes for an entire month each year for vacation. A unique and potentially polarizing aspect mentioned was the inclusion of brussel sprouts in their chicken fried rice, which are reportedly mixed in and not easily removable. However, this reviewer stated that the chicken fried rice is "really good" if ordered without brussel sprouts.

Based on these recent reviews, potential customers of New York Lovers Chinese Restaurant should be aware of potential inconsistencies in food quality, the practice of charging extra for condiments, the inclusion of brussel sprouts in the chicken fried rice (unless specified otherwise), and the possibility of a month-long annual closure. While one reviewer found the food's taste to be good (with the brussel sprout caveat), another had a very negative experience regarding dryness and service. It may be prudent to consider these recent experiences when deciding whether to dine at or order from New York Lovers Chinese Restaurant.

Terrible to say the least. Dry Beef in the fried rice. Little tiny, beef Jerky like pieces of meat for the Boneless spare ribs. Dry, dry, dry. Also the lady at the front counter was playing in her daughters hair in the kitchen. She's kind of rude too. When I lived out there a few years ago this food was superb. Now, well let's say the Chef has left the building and the little 7 year old is running the show!! Don't waste your time!! Terrible!!!

It's really good, but they'll nickel and dime you to death. They even charge extra for a little bitty teeny tiny container of Chinese hot oil. The prices are in line with others in the area, so they should be able to absorb the cost of a spicy food enhancement into the prices of the dishes. Oh, and I'm not sure when, but they are apparently family-owned and operated and they take an entire month off each year to vacation. Must be nice! Another thing of note is they put brussel sprouts in their chicken fried rice. And not just a little that you can pick out if you don't like it, it breaks off and blends in with the rice and it's a nightmare. But if you order it without brussel sprouts, it's really good.

Young woman at front is a little rude. But that wouldn’t be that big of a deal if the food was good. The fried rice I got was cold and chicken looked a little weird. My stomach has been in pain since eating

Good old American-style Chinese takeout that you find in New York. The service is friendly and the place is a hole in a wall. The fried chicken wings and shrimp fried rice combo brings back memories. It is yummy comfort food. The Family Dinner is a steal. Two entrees, two soup and two egg rolls for only $19.99.

My husband is from NY and loves this place. Reminds him of home. Favorite meal he likes is roasted pork fried rice with boneless spare ribs!
