About New York China Restaurant

Welcome to New York China Restaurant, a Chinese Restaurant located at 7605 NC-68, Oak Ridge, NC 27310, USA. Serving the Oak Ridge community and surrounding areas, New York China Restaurant offers a range of Chinese dishes for both dine-in and takeout. As a local Chinese Restaurant, we aim to provide our customers with a diverse menu of classic and contemporary Chinese cuisine.

Information regarding the specific environment of New York China Restaurant is limited based on the available reviews. One review focuses solely on the food quality, while the other highlights the overall appeal of the restaurant as being "worth the drive." Without more detailed descriptions, it is challenging to provide a comprehensive overview of the restaurant's ambiance or décor. However, the fact that customers do dine at the establishment suggests that there is a functional dining area available for those who prefer to eat on-site.

New York China Restaurant offers both dine-in and takeout services to cater to the preferences of its customers. For those who wish to enjoy their meals at home or on the go, takeout orders can be placed by calling (336) 298-7648 or +1 336-298-7648. The availability of both options provides flexibility for customers in Oak Ridge and the surrounding areas. The positive review from a customer who drives 20 minutes to eat at the restaurant implies that the takeout service is efficient and that the food travels well, maintaining its quality despite the distance.

The features of New York China Restaurant present a mixed perspective based on the limited customer feedback available. One of the most striking features, according to a highly satisfied customer, is the overall quality and taste of the food, making it "definitely worth the drive" even for those located some distance away. This suggests that for certain dishes or the overall culinary experience, New York China Restaurant offers something special that resonates positively with some patrons, enough to warrant significant travel.

However, a contrasting review highlights a potential inconsistency or issue with a specific dish, the chicken lo mein. This customer reported that the "Chicken lo mein has very little flavor" and contained "Very little chicken in the ‘chicken lo mein’." This feedback points to a potential drawback in the preparation or ingredient proportions of at least one menu item, which could be a concern for other customers considering ordering the same dish. This review also led to the customer stating it would be their "first and last time visiting this establishment," indicating a significant level of dissatisfaction with their experience.

Given the limited number of reviews, it is difficult to ascertain definitive features of the restaurant as a whole. The stark contrast between the two opinions suggests that customer experiences may vary. The positive review emphasizes the overall appeal and quality that justifies a 20-minute drive, implying a potentially diverse and well-executed menu beyond just the criticized dish. Conversely, the negative review serves as a caution regarding the flavor and ingredient content of at least one specific item.

Currently, there is no information available regarding specific promotional offers or specials at New York China Restaurant. Customers interested in any potential promotions are advised to contact the restaurant directly via phone to inquire about current deals or discounts.

In conclusion, New York China Restaurant in Oak Ridge, NC, presents a somewhat ambiguous profile based on the limited online feedback. While one customer highly recommends the restaurant, finding it worth a 20-minute drive, another expresses significant disappointment with the chicken lo mein, citing a lack of flavor and insufficient chicken. This disparity suggests that customer experiences may vary, or that certain dishes may be more successful than others. Potential customers in the Oak Ridge area and beyond should consider these contrasting opinions when deciding whether to dine in or order takeout from New York China Restaurant. Further investigation or trying a variety of dishes might be necessary to form a comprehensive personal opinion of this establishment.

Excellent food... But terrible customer service and timeliness. Payments and (very minimal) engagements are conducted through a tiny opening in a make-shift wooden door. Orders typically take 45 min+ to make and package so be prepared to stand outside and wait. If ordering ahead, call in for priority.

General Tso's overcooked. Lacked flavor. Outdated dining area. Low staffing level. Last place I'd go for Chinese food in NC.
