About New Wasabi Buffet

New Wasabi Buffet is a Chinese restaurant located at 16700 US-441, Mt Dora, FL 32757, USA. As a buffet-style Chinese restaurant, it also offers a sushi bar, providing a variety of Asian cuisine options.

Customer reviews present contrasting opinions on New Wasabi Buffet. One reviewer who dined in for dinner noted prompt, attentive, and friendly service. However, their experience with the food was less positive. They found the sushi rolls to contain minimal fish and described them as moderately fresh but tasteless. They also observed that some of the sashimi appeared limp and dark. Among the Chinese dishes, the pepper shrimp were too hard to eat, while the General Tso's chicken, broccoli chicken, fried dumplings, and string beans were considered average for a buffet. This reviewer expressed surprise at the bill, which was $12.99 per person plus $1.50 per soda, suggesting that there are better takeout options in the area for the price.

In contrast, another customer had a very positive experience, stating the food was "fantastic" over three visits. They particularly enjoyed the beautifully presented sushi, even though they are not typically a fan of sushi with too much raw fish. This reviewer also mentioned that their non-sushi-loving friends enjoyed it and expressed eagerness to return.

Based on these reviews, New Wasabi Buffet offers a buffet setting with both Chinese dishes and sushi. The service is noted as prompt and friendly. However, the quality of the food appears to be inconsistent, with one reviewer finding the sushi tasteless and some Chinese dishes subpar, while another praised the food, especially the sushi presentation and taste. The price point of $12.99 per person for dinner and $1.50 for sodas was considered high by one reviewer relative to the food quality. The environment and any specific promotional information are not detailed in these reviews.

I took my wife to try this place out for dinner. I knew it was a buffet, so I'm trying to be fair in my comparison. We went at 6, and there were about 25 customers. Service was prompt, attentive, and friendly. I started at the sushi bar. The rolls contained minute amounts of fish, and were moderately fresh, but tasteless. Some of the sashimi looked a little limp and dark, so I stayed away. The pepper shrimp were too hard to try to eat. The Gen Tso chicken, broccoli chicken, and fried dumplings were par for a buffet, as were the string beans. I don't expect too much from asian buffets, but we were shocked to get the bill... $12.99/person and $1.50 for sodas? There are too many excellent take-out spots in the area for me to ever justify settling for this food at these prices.

Fantastic food. I have been 3 times now and i just love it. If you are thinking about going, you won't be disappointed. I am not a fan of sushi with too much raw fish, but their sushi is presented so beautifully and even my non sushi type friends were eating it. Can't wait to go again.

My wife and I have eaten at Wasabi Buffet several times. The reason why is that they are a great place to dine. For dinner: crab and frog legs. Frog legs are very rare in restaraunts. I recommend everyone to eat here at Wasabi Buffet. God's grace is sufficient!

The guy at the sushi counter was picking the flesh off his hand with the knife he use on the sushi. We told the waitress she act like she didn't understand us. Food is expensive, three of us went in the bill came $27.... and we decided to spilt the bill, we payed $15... each.

Absolutely Bland, I doubt they have ever purchased any seasonings. And the steak is actually pork. The only genuine item they have here are the chopsticks.
