Customer reviews for NEW PEKING present a stark contrast in experiences. One reviewer expressed extreme dissatisfaction, stating they would give the restaurant a negative five-star rating if possible. This reviewer described the service as "absolutely ridiculous," citing an instance where a server rolled her eyes when asked about the differences between dishes. Furthermore, they found the food to be "on another level of horrendously horrible," specifically mentioning very small portions of three different tempura sweet and sour dishes. This reviewer strongly recommended other Chinese restaurants in the Seattle Chinatown area, namely Honey Court and Hong Kong Bistro, as alternatives. Specific criticisms included the Honey Walnut Prawns looking and tasting like they were tossed in mustard, dry and bland fried rice, and BBQ Pork described as cardboard-like, tasteless, and dry with a pale pink outer layer.

Conversely, another customer had a significantly positive experience at NEW PEKING. This reviewer described the food as "delicious!" and specifically praised the Chicken Chow Mein with Crispy Noodles, noting the perfect amount of chicken and vegetables. They also found the Mongolian Beef to be "so excellent." This positive review extended to the service, with the customer describing their waitress as "so knowledgeable about the food" and helpful in selecting dishes. They also characterized the waitress as an "absolute sweet heart!"

Given these contrasting reviews, it is important for potential customers to consider that individual experiences can vary. The negative review highlights significant issues with food quality and service, while the positive review praises specific dishes and the attentiveness of the staff. These differing opinions might reflect inconsistencies in food preparation, service quality, or individual preferences.

As a Chinese restaurant, NEW PEKING likely offers a menu that includes a variety of popular dishes such as chow mein, fried rice, and various meat, poultry, and seafood entrees prepared with distinct Chinese sauces and cooking methods. Tempura, as mentioned in the negative review, is a Japanese dish but is sometimes found on the menus of Chinese-American restaurants. Sweet and sour dishes are a common offering, typically involving a tangy sauce and often battered and fried protein or vegetables. Honey Walnut Prawns, another dish mentioned, usually consists of fried prawns coated in a creamy honey sauce and topped with walnuts.

The environment of NEW PEKING is not specifically described in the provided reviews. If I could give this place minus 5 stars, I would. The service was absolutely ridiculous. The server rolled her eyes when she was asked what the difference between dishes were. The food is on another level of horrendously horrible. 3 different tempura sweet and sour. Very small portions. I would strongly recommend save your craving and $$ for Honey Court, or Hong Kong bistro in Seattle, wa Chinatown. The Honey Walnut Prawns’s look and taste like they were tossed in Mustard. Dry, bland fried rice.. The bbq Pork was like cardboard. Tasteless, dry………….., the outer layer of red was a pale pink

Please save you money! My family recently tried the New Peking restaurant and was thoroughly disappointed. We the egg flower soup had no taste and was watered down. The orange chicken was soggy and tasteless. The chicken chow mein noodles were solid as a rock which was confusing, since the dish was so greasy. Also, the chicken fried rice, or let's just say fried rice since there was no chicken. This had no seasoning and some of the rice was hard. So please save your money. You can get a better meal at Safeway!

It's been awhile since we've visited & we were very happy with the food and service! Huge improvement & will definitely recommend! Even my 10 year old son gave it a 10/10! Beautifully remodeled and the food was perfect. Only disappointed in there being a charge for tea, instead of complimentary. Thank you!

I wasn't quite sure it was going to be that great at first. The interior isn't flashy and it was quiet the night we went, but the food was stupendous. It was hot, flavorful, and not greasy as some places can be. We will definitely be coming back again.
