About New Mui Kwai Chop Suey

Welcome to New Mui Kwai Chop Suey, a Chinese restaurant located at 132 Oneawa St in Kailua, HI 96734. As a Chinese restaurant serving the Kailua community, New Mui Kwai Chop Suey aims to provide a variety of Chinese-style dishes. Recent customer reviews available online present a somewhat contrasting picture of the dining experience, with one review detailing significant issues with order accuracy and food quality, while another highlights efficient service and satisfactory food during a busy period.

One customer recounted a particularly negative experience during what they described as a quiet time when their party was the only one present. Despite the lack of other customers, they reported receiving the wrong dish initially. Subsequently, their actual order arrived late and cold. Furthermore, a dish of vegetables and tofu that was ordered took an additional 30 minutes to be served, and the tofu in that dish was described as tasting spoiled. This detailed negative feedback raises serious concerns about the restaurant's attention to detail in order preparation, the timeliness and temperature of food service, and the quality of their ingredients, particularly the tofu. The reviewer's strong negative sentiment ("If I coughs give negative stars I would") underscores the severity of their dissatisfaction.

In contrast, another customer who visited during dinner time reported a more positive experience. They specifically came in for the roast pork and noted that the staff was efficient, even though it was a busy night, and that people were being helped quickly. This suggests that the service can be efficient and prompt, especially during peak hours. Regarding the roast pork, this customer found it to have good flavor but mentioned it wasn't quite as crispy as they preferred. However, they were willing to give the restaurant "a pass" on this due to the helpfulness of the staff during a busy period. This suggests that the staff's efficiency and positive attitude may have compensated for a minor issue with the food preparation. This reviewer also expressed looking forward to returning to try more of the menu, indicating an overall positive impression despite the slight critique of the roast pork's crispiness.

Considering these two recent reviews, the experience at New Mui Kwai Chop Suey appears to be somewhat inconsistent. One visit was marked by significant errors in order and severe issues with food quality and service timing, while another visit during a busy period was characterized by efficient service and satisfactory food. This discrepancy suggests that the quality of food and service might vary depending on the circumstances, such as the time of day or the level of business.

The reviews provide limited information about the environment of New Mui Kwai Chop Suey. One customer mentioned visiting at dinner time, implying a dine-in option is available. However, there are no descriptions of the restaurant's decor, cleanliness, or overall ambiance. Local users interested in the dining atmosphere may need to visit the location or look for additional information or photos online. The fact that one reviewer experienced slow service even when the restaurant was empty might suggest that staffing levels or kitchen efficiency could be factors affecting the dining experience.

Regarding the services offered, New Mui Kwai Chop Suey clearly provides dine-in service, as indicated by the customers' experiences of eating at the restaurant. Given that it is a Chinese restaurant, it is also highly likely that takeout service is available. To confirm whether they offer delivery services, local users would need to contact the restaurant directly using the provided phone numbers: (808) 262-7800 or +1 808-262-7800.

There is no promotional information mentioned in the provided customer reviews. Local users interested in any specials or promotions should contact the restaurant directly. As a local establishment, their promotional strategies might be communicated in-store or through other local channels.

In conclusion, New Mui Kwai Chop Suey in Kailua, Hawaii, presents a mixed profile based on recent customer feedback. While one customer experienced significant issues with order accuracy, food temperature, and ingredient quality, another found the service to be efficient and the food (specifically the roast pork) to be satisfactory during a busy time. This inconsistency suggests that potential diners might have varied experiences. Local users considering this restaurant should be aware of these contrasting reports. For information on services like delivery and any current promotions, direct contact with New Mui Kwai Chop Suey is recommended.

Came by for some roast pork at dinner time. Staff was efficient even on a busy night and people were being helped quickly. Roast pork had good flavor but wasn't quite as crispy as I like, I think they get a pass for being so helpful on such a busy day. Looking forward to coming back to try more of the menu.

I ordered egg flower soup and wrote “no mushrooms.” I ordered online and they had my email and phone number. A call to say our soup is “mostly mushrooms” would have been great. Instead I spent 10 mins picking them out. The picture is a large dinner plate size. The mo shu pork is bland. Luckily I have hoison sauce at home to liven it. But they wrapped it in the pancakes for me. Makes it impossible to keep leftovers which was my plan. I’ll have to unwrap it and throw the pancakes. Just not great. Miss New Chinese Garden.

Just picked $130 of food. No rice for any of the dishes which included chop suey, kung pan chicken, Mongolian beef and shrimp egg foo yung which had no gravy. When we called we were told rice is extra as is the gravy. Currently waiting for our rice to cook at home. Ridiculous.

Awesome food best thing is they use NO MSG in there cooking. Fast service, great staff & the Food is Awesome. I eat there at least 1-2 times a month & order out for parties all the time. I've been a valued customer for many years they have seen my children grow & have children & now they see my children have children. All the staff remember great customers that have been coming for years. I have had many family gathering there & great accommodations for the party as well as the public to come, very clean & inviting. I always recommend this restaurant to my family & friends.
