About New Miyoshi
Welcome to New Miyoshi, a unique Chinese and Japanese Restaurant located at 1195 Millers Gap Hwy in Newland, North Carolina. Offering a diverse menu that spans both Chinese and Japanese culinary traditions, New Miyoshi aims to cater to a wide range of tastes in the Newland area. If you're in the mood for either Chinese or Japanese cuisine, New Miyoshi presents itself as a local option to explore.
According to customer reviews, New Miyoshi has garnered a reputation for consistent quality and affordability. One reviewer specifically noted that the restaurant offers some of the most reasonable prices in town, suggesting that it provides good value for money. This can be a significant draw for budget-conscious diners looking for a satisfying meal without a hefty price tag. The same reviewer felt that New Miyoshi deserves more recognition within the community, highlighting its positive attributes.
The service at New Miyoshi has also been commended. The reviewer mentioned a "woman in charge" who is described as "nice as can be." This suggests a friendly and welcoming atmosphere fostered by the management. The reviewer also noted that this individual does her best to understand customer requests, even when faced with a potential language barrier. This dedication to customer satisfaction, despite communication challenges, indicates a positive approach to service.
Overall, the first reviewer reported consistently positive experiences at New Miyoshi, stating, "Never had a bad experience here." This strong endorsement suggests a reliable and enjoyable dining experience for those who choose to visit. They explicitly recommend giving New Miyoshi a try if you're in the mood for either Chinese or Japanese food, highlighting the restaurant's dual culinary offerings.
However, another customer review brought up a point of concern regarding the accuracy of the menu descriptions. This reviewer found the food to be "awesome" and "just the way I like it," indicating satisfaction with the taste and preparation of their meal. However, they ordered Hunan Chicken, which was described on the menu as including celery and mushrooms, but their dish arrived without these ingredients. This discrepancy led the reviewer to emphasize the importance of ensuring that the restaurant delivers what it advertises on its menu. While the food itself was enjoyable, the missing ingredients suggest a potential issue with attention to detail or consistency in following menu descriptions.
The environment of New Miyoshi is not extensively described in the provided reviews. However, the mention of a "woman in charge" interacting with customers suggests a potentially smaller, more personal setting, possibly aligning with a family-run establishment. The positive comments about the friendliness of the staff contribute to an impression of a welcoming and comfortable dining space.
Features of New Miyoshi include its dual offering of Chinese and Japanese cuisine, providing a broader range of options than restaurants specializing in only one type of Asian food. The consistently good food and reasonable prices, as noted by one reviewer, are significant advantages. The friendly service, particularly from the woman in charge, also stands out as a positive feature. However, the discrepancy in menu accuracy, as highlighted by another reviewer, is an area where improvement may be needed to ensure complete customer satisfaction.
Regarding specific menu items, the positive mention of "awesome" food and the specific callout of Hunan Chicken (albeit with missing ingredients) indicate that New Miyoshi offers standard Chinese-American fare. The recommendation to try New Miyoshi if in the mood for Japanese suggests that they also have a selection of Japanese dishes, which likely includes sushi and other popular Japanese items, although the reviews do not provide specific details on the Japanese menu.
Currently, there is no promotional information available from the provided reviews. Customers interested in any special offers, discounts, or specific promotions at New Miyoshi are encouraged to contact the restaurant directly at (828) 733-2808 or +1 828-733-2808 to inquire.
In summary, New Miyoshi in Newland, NC, offers a unique combination of Chinese and Japanese cuisine, with a reputation for consistently good and reasonably priced food. The service is described as friendly, with the woman in charge being particularly helpful. While one reviewer had a very positive overall experience, another noted a discrepancy between the menu description and the ingredients of their dish, highlighting a potential area for improvement in menu accuracy. If you are in the Newland area and looking for an affordable restaurant that offers both Chinese and Japanese options, New Miyoshi is worth considering. The positive endorsements regarding food quality and service suggest a potentially enjoyable dining experience, but it may be wise to double-check the ingredients of specific dishes when ordering to ensure they align with the menu description.

This place is consistently good, and offer some of the most reasonable prices in town. They deserve more credit. The woman in charge is nice as can be, and she does her best to understand requests, despite the language barrier. Never had a bad experience here. Give them a go if you’re in the mood for Chinese/Japanese.
Food was awesome. Just the way I like it. The description of Hunan Chicken includes celery and mushrooms. Mine had neither. They need to make sure they do what they advertise.
Always nice to us always has the best food and a large amount of it
I’ve been trying for a while to remember which restaurant had the dark brown sauce on egg foo yong. Now I know. This is a soy based sauce and is really not good at all. EVERY other restaurant I’ve ever been to has a light brown gravy, which is excellent. Everything else about New Miyoshi is good and I will go back there again, but I won’t order the egg foo yong. Two weeks later...Thoughy I'd eat in, too hungry to wait to get it home. Rude hostess/waitress. She tried, but she doesn't even look at guests pleasantly. Other waitress was sweet as sugar! Egg rolls just as delicious, egg drop soup-still good, general tso chicken good but much much more sweet than spicy. Couldnt eatit. No hot tea, nothing hot to drink and order your tea half n half, it's sweeeeet! I was offered hot water by Miss Rude though. Service and speed were perfect! No personality to the dining room at all. Not even music. And you want to limit your time with the hostess..... This restaurant is really more for just take out.
Amazing service, beautiful and minimalist decor, generous serving sizes and amazing taste. Could not reccomend enough
