About New Lucky China

New Lucky China is a Chinese restaurant located at 4038 Butler Hill Rd, St. Louis, MO 63129, USA. Serving the South County area, New Lucky China can be contacted at (314) 487-6161 or via mobile phone at +1 314-487-6161 for inquiries or to place orders. Based on recent customer reviews, New Lucky China appears to have undergone some changes affecting pricing and service, particularly regarding delivery and order accuracy, although the food quality is still praised by some.

One long-time customer stated that New Lucky China had been their favorite Chinese place in South County for years. However, their recent experiences have been marked by "skyrocketing" prices. While this customer indicated a willingness to pay higher prices, they emphasized that this is contingent on good service, suggesting that the recent service they received did not justify the increased cost. This highlights a potential shift in the value proposition offered by New Lucky China.

This same reviewer also detailed issues with recent delivery orders, noting that they were "super slow," arriving more than 15 minutes late on multiple occasions. When they called to inquire about an estimated time of arrival (ETA), they were told the order was "almost done," which apparently meant it had not even left the restaurant yet. Furthermore, they reported being abruptly hung up on after this information was provided. This feedback points to significant problems with the efficiency and professionalism of their delivery service. Despite these service issues, the reviewer did note that the "food is always outstanding," indicating a potential disconnect between the quality of the food itself and the level of service provided.

Another customer reported a significantly negative experience with their order. They mentioned receiving "hot braised chicken" that was unlike any version of the dish they had encountered before, describing it as "just chicken nuggets in a brown sauce." This suggests a considerable deviation from expected culinary standards for this particular dish. Additionally, this customer stated that their order was supposed to include fried rice and crab rangoon, but these items were missing from their order. This indicates a serious issue with order accuracy and attention to detail in fulfilling customer requests. The stark contrast between this experience and the previous reviewer's praise for the food quality suggests potential inconsistencies in food preparation or order fulfillment.

Regarding the "environment" of New Lucky China, the provided reviews do not offer any information about the restaurant's interior decor or ambiance. The feedback focuses solely on the pricing, delivery service, and food quality (and accuracy of orders). Therefore, local users seeking information about the dine-in experience, if available, would need to visit the location or inquire directly about the availability of dine-in services and the atmosphere.

In terms of "services," New Lucky China offers delivery, as evidenced by one of the reviews detailing slow delivery times and communication issues. They also presumably offer takeout, as customers would need to pick up orders that were not delivered. The recent issues with delivery speed and the alleged rudeness on the phone when inquiring about an order raise concerns about the reliability and quality of their delivery service. Furthermore, the missing items from another customer's order indicate potential problems with order accuracy for both delivery and possibly takeout orders.

The "features" of New Lucky China's food present a mixed picture. One long-time customer consistently found the food to be "outstanding," suggesting that certain dishes may still be of high quality. However, another customer's description of the "hot braised chicken" as chicken nuggets in brown sauce and the omission of fried rice and crab rangoon from their order indicate significant issues with the preparation and accuracy of some dishes. This inconsistency makes it difficult to definitively characterize the features of their food, as experiences seem to vary widely. The rising prices, as noted by one reviewer, could be considered a feature, although not a positive one for price-sensitive customers, especially if the service does not meet the expectation set by the increased cost.

Currently, there is no "promotional information" available in the provided text. The reviews do not mention any discounts, special offers, or new menu items being promoted by New Lucky China. Local users interested in any potential promotions should contact the restaurant directly at (314) 487-6161.

In conclusion, New Lucky China in St. Louis, MO, was once a highly regarded Chinese restaurant, according to a long-time customer who praised the food quality. However, recent reviews indicate some concerning trends, including rising prices that are not matched by consistent service quality, particularly in delivery, which has been described as slow and unprofessional. Additionally, there are reports of significant issues with order accuracy, with customers receiving unexpected or incomplete meals. While the food is still considered "outstanding" by at least one reviewer, the inconsistencies in order fulfillment and the decline in service quality are significant drawbacks. Local users considering New Lucky China should be aware of these recent negative experiences and may want to weigh the potential for high-quality food against the reported problems with delivery and order accuracy. It would be advisable to confirm current pricing and service policies when placing an order. To inquire about any current promotions, contacting the restaurant directly is recommended.

This had been my favorite Chinese place in South County for years. But the last few times, prices are skyrocketing - which I’m perfectly willing to pay higher prices - so long as the service is good. My last few delivery orders are super slow, arriving more than 15 minutes late. I called for an ETA & was told it was almost done, meaning it hadn’t even left yet, & was promptly hung up on. Service needs work, but food is always outstanding.

This WAS the best Chinese food you will find below 44 highway. The combos are the absolute best choice, and I love the pricing of the apps! Their fried rice just out classes everything within a 15-mile radius. However, Glowing review aside, the business has been lights out for a while now. I believe it has been shut down for the owners have left for an unknown amount of time and have not updated their Google page.

2.5 stars is what I wanted to give. Restaurant was clean, easy to order and came fast. Orderd Mongolian beef lunch plate with white rice, soup, veggie roll and crab Rangoon. Total was under 10 bucks, seemed pretty cheap nowadays. And was probably worth that. Mongolian beef was ok, about the least Chinese tasting Mongolian beef I’ve ever eaten. (envision your typical Mongolian beef, now replace half the taste with just regular old beef brown gravy) Had about 6-7 pieces of beef and was pretty much all onions. But for nine bucks hey, I finished saying was probably worth it. Veggie roll tasted like something you could buy at the grocery store and make yourself. The crab Rangoon was actually pretty OK. Don’t necessarily know if I would come back. But it’s not bad for the money.
