About New Hunan

New Hunan is a Chinese restaurant located at 11175 Allen Rd, Southgate, MI 48195, USA. They can be contacted at (734) 287-6688 or +1 734-287-6688. As a local Chinese restaurant, New Hunan likely offers both dine-in and take-out services to cater to customers in the Southgate area.

Recent customer reviews indicate significant issues with the food quality and preparation at New Hunan. One long-time customer who typically orders the same dishes decided to try the shrimp chow mein (C2) and reported receiving a dish that consisted mainly of cabbage, bean sprouts, and shrimp in a clear sauce, lacking noodles entirely and instead being served with a bag of stale crunchy wonton strips. This customer expressed confusion and dissatisfaction with the dish.

Another reviewer also reported a negative experience, stating that what was ordered as "almond chicken and fried rice" was actually sesame chicken, and the rice was not fried rice. Furthermore, this customer claimed that the vegetables in the egg roll appeared to be fermented or expired. This review raises serious concerns about the quality and accuracy of the food being served.

Based on these recent reviews, customers have experienced significant discrepancies between what was ordered and what was received, as well as concerns about the freshness and preparation of the ingredients. There is no information available regarding the restaurant's environment, specific services beyond likely dine-in and take-out, special features, or any current promotional offers. Local users are advised to carefully consider these recent experiences when making a decision about dining at or ordering from New Hunan.

My family & I have been eating here for years but usually ALWAYS order the same thing. Decided to be different today & ordered shrimp chow mein, C2. I'm not sure what I got but this isn't like any chow mein I've ever had before - it's basically cabbage w/ bean sprouts & shrimp in some kind of clear sauce. There's no noodles in the dish at all but instead, a bag of (stale) crunchy won ton strips - wtf is this??

Almond chicken and fried rice.....This is NOT fried rice!!!!! And the almond chicken is not almond chicken is sesame chicken....but thanks anyways. On top of that, like they thought no one would know the vegetables in the egg roll are fermented aka expired! Who runs this place?!?!?

The general TSO chicken was worse than a frozen meal. At first I was bummed out about the small portion size but after tasting it I was glad I didn't have so much to throw away. The "beef" in the beef chow mein was funky too. Like other reviews mention the only outstanding flavor is the flavor that something is spoiled...

I don’t know how this place is approved by the health department to serve food. As soon as you walk in it smells foul. The “gravy” they give you with the almond boneless chicken smells sour and is definitely NOT gravy. Took one bite of the chicken and threw away everything else without trying it. I havent been able to get the taste of the oil out of my mouth the last three hours. There’s way better Chinese food within 2 miles

I was suprised to come on here and see so many bad reviews. I ordered it to be delivered it arrived hot. I thought the portion was decent for the price maybe 12-15 pieces of chicken and a cup and half of the chicken fried rice for like 14$. The eggrolls were not the normal cabbage ones, but seemed like they were chicken or pork. They were hot and juicy. The crab rangoon was fine, and personally i like onion so i didnt mind it in the rice. Was way more flavorful then alot of other chinese places around.
