Based on recent customer feedback, New Happy Garden Restaurant presents a mixed dining experience. One customer highlighted the positive aspect of the service while expressing concerns about the freshness and preparation of some food items. Specifically, they mentioned that certain dishes appeared dried out and overcooked, which was noted during a time when the restaurant had a significant number of diners. This suggests a potential inconsistency in food quality that local patrons might want to consider.

In contrast, another reviewer enthusiastically praised the variety and quality of the dishes available on the buffet. They specifically mentioned a range of well-prepared options, including pepper steak, sweet plantains, and sweet and sour chicken, among others. This positive feedback suggests that New Happy Garden Restaurant offers a diverse selection that can cater to different tastes and preferences. The reviewer's comment, "Come on in and fill up your belly neighbors," indicates a welcoming atmosphere and an expectation of a satisfying meal.

The primary feature of New Happy Garden Restaurant appears to be its buffet service. Buffets offer the advantage of allowing customers to sample a wide array of dishes and eat according to their preferences and appetite. This format is particularly appealing to those who enjoy variety or are dining with a group that has diverse culinary tastes. The mention of specific dishes like pepper steak, sweet plantains, and sweet and sour chicken provides potential customers with an idea of the types of offerings they can expect.

Considering the available information, New Happy Garden Restaurant seems to focus on providing a broad selection of Chinese-American cuisine through its buffet. The environment is likely geared towards accommodating a good number of dine-in customers, as indicated by the mention of 18 people eating at the time of one of the reviews. The service aspect, as noted by one customer, has the potential to be a positive element of the dining experience.

However, prospective customers should be aware of the reported inconsistency in food freshness and preparation. While one reviewer found the dishes to be well-prepared, another experienced issues with dryness and overcooking. This suggests that the quality might vary depending on the time of day or specific dishes. It might be beneficial for potential diners to consider the timing of their visit or inquire about the freshness of the buffet items.

On a positive note, the variety of dishes available on the buffet seems to be a significant draw for customers. The inclusion of items like pepper steak and sweet plantains indicates a willingness to offer a diverse culinary experience beyond the more standard Chinese-American fare. This could be a compelling reason for local residents to visit and explore the different flavors and options available.

In conclusion, New Happy Garden Restaurant in Waynesville, NC, offers a Chinese buffet experience with a wide variety of dishes. While service has been noted as great, there are mentions of potential inconsistencies in food freshness and preparation. Local residents looking for a Chinese buffet with a good variety of options may find New Happy Garden Restaurant worth a visit. It is recommended that potential customers consider the feedback regarding food quality and perhaps inquire about the buffet offerings at the time of their visit to ensure a satisfactory experience.

The restaurant's location in Waynesville Plaza makes it easily accessible. The buffet format caters to individuals and families looking for a meal with a wide range of choices. Service was great but food was dried some cooked too hard, and not fresh at 2:40pm with 18 people in restaurant eating.

Good variety of well prepared dishes in the buffet. From pepper steak, to sweet plantains, sweet and sour chicken 🍗 and so much more. Come on in and fill up your belly neighbors. Compliments from the Everglades Boss 🎙️.

Don't go here. Just don't. If you've ever listened to the advice of a stranger, please just avoid this place at all cost. Freezer section Chinese food is better. Nothing was fresh, and I literally mean nothing. It was rubbery, old and nasty. My fiance ate a single piece of broccoli and stopped. I nibbled a bit and quit. Eggroll was so hard I could bite through it. The place itself is run down and nasty. If we would not have been invited by friends, we would have just left. After bringing the lack of quality to the attention of our waiter, he took off a single buffet. Almost 30$ for maybe 10 bites of the nastiest food ever. Pro tip: there is a Little Caesars nearby.

The food choices weren't that good as we're used to choosing is chicken that's not fried. There wasn't a single dish with not fried chicken. We definitely weren't impressed with the food on the buffet but your menu looked great. Way overpriced, we spent $70 for 2 adults and 2 children and got hardly anything for our money.

Used to be really good here. Seems like the last two times we have been, once for lunch and once for dinner recently has been very disappointing and a little bit more expensive than a normal buffet, yet the food quality is sub par at best.
