About New Golden Chopsticks

Located at 77 Pearl Street, #3, in the Financial District of New York City, New Golden Chopsticks operates as a "Chinese Restaurant," offering Chinese cuisine to the local community. As a provider within this category, it likely offers services such as takeout and potentially delivery, catering to the needs of busy professionals and residents in the area. The available customer reviews present a mixed picture of the dining experience at New Golden Chopsticks, highlighting both positive aspects of service and food quality, as well as significant concerns regarding food safety and consistency.

One reviewer shared a positive interaction with a staff member, an "Asian lady" who was cleaning the floors around closing time on two consecutive evenings when the customer picked up dinner. This customer found her to be "really nice and pleasant to interact with" and commended her hard work, explicitly stating that they did not find her rude, contrary to some other reviewers (though these other reviews are not provided in the given information). This positive feedback suggests that at least one staff member is dedicated and provides friendly service, particularly during the late hours.

Another customer praised the food, describing it as "fresh and extremely flavorful," especially appreciated during cold winter nights. This positive assessment indicates that when the food is prepared well, it can be a satisfying and enjoyable experience, suggesting that New Golden Chopsticks has the potential to deliver high-quality meals.

However, a starkly contrasting review raises serious concerns about the food quality and safety. This customer reported ordering through a "too good to go" platform. Upon receiving the food, they found it to be "really dry and had a hard time eating" it. Subsequently, the reviewer claimed to have "threw up so much," and alleged that their roommate had experienced food poisoning from the same establishment a couple of months prior. This review strongly advises others to "SAVE YOURSELF AND DON'T ORDER FROM HERE!!!" and suggests alternative options for Chinese food, such as Chinatown, which is described as being within walking distance or a short commute away. This feedback presents a significant red flag regarding the potential for foodborne illness and poor food quality.

The discrepancy between the positive and severely negative reviews is notable. The positive feedback focuses on friendly service from one staff member and the freshness and flavor of the food on at least one occasion. In contrast, the negative review points to issues with food dryness, potential food poisoning, and a strong recommendation to avoid the restaurant altogether. This suggests a possible inconsistency in food quality or handling practices at New Golden Chopsticks.

Given the limited number of reviews and the stark contrast between them, it is challenging to form a definitive overall assessment of New Golden Chopsticks. The positive comments indicate that some customers have had pleasant experiences with both the service and the food. However, the serious allegations of food poisoning and poor food quality in another review cannot be ignored and should be a significant consideration for potential customers.

Located at 77 Pearl Street, #3, New Golden Chopsticks is situated in a busy area of the Financial District. The provided phone numbers, (212) 825-0314 and +1 212-825-0314, offer a means for customers to place orders or make inquiries. However, in light of the strongly negative review, potential customers might be hesitant to do so without further information or more consistent feedback.

The negative reviewer's suggestion to seek Chinese food in Chinatown, citing its proximity and accessibility via walking, the M15 bus, or a short Uber ride, provides a local context for alternative options. This implies that there are other readily available Chinese restaurants in the vicinity that might offer a more reliable and safer dining experience.

In conclusion, New Golden Chopsticks in the Financial District of New York City has received mixed reviews. While one customer praised the friendly service and another enjoyed the fresh and flavorful food, a significant and concerning review alleges food poisoning and describes the food as dry and unappetizing. This stark contrast in feedback suggests potential inconsistencies in the restaurant's food quality and safety standards. Local users considering ordering from or visiting New Golden Chopsticks should be aware of these conflicting reports and may want to exercise caution or consider alternative options, such as those available in nearby Chinatown, based on their comfort level and priorities regarding food safety and quality.

I picked up a dinner two days in row here, around closing. The Asian lady was cleaning the floors around closing time and had my food ready. She seemed really nice and pleasant to interact with. If she is reading this I'd like her to know that she is doing great and that I didn't find her rude like the other reviewers here. She's trying her best. The food was fresh and extremely flavorful, especially in the cold winter nights. I will definitely visit this place again and again.

Got a too good to go order. Once I received the food, it was really dry and had a hard time eating. After a while I threw up so much and my roommate got food poisoning a couple of months ago. SAVE YOURSELF AND DONT ORDER FROM HERE!!! If you really want Chinese food just get it from Chinatown it’d do close you can walk, take the M15 or even a quick 10 min uber.

I had a terrible experience here with both the service and the environment. I ordered through Too Good To Go, and when I arrived, the cashier was incredibly rude, I showed her my code and order details, but she refused to give me the food because she insisted I log into the app( screaming at me) which I couldn’t do at the moment due to not having WiFi. I’ve picked up orders this way before without any issues, so this made no sense. On top of that, the place itself was filthy, and the leftovers didn’t look appetizing at all. The customer service was awful; the cashier clearly needs training on how to treat people, especially when they are being polite. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone and will definitely not be returning.

Dinner buffet on a quiet Tuesday. The dumplings were great, Szechuan chicken was juicy and tasty. Vegetables and variety, exactly what we expected and got!

The lunch buffet is legendary to me. I have been going there for almost 20 years. I've found their food to be consistently delicious, melt in your mouth savory and sweet. I'm super shocked by some of these low reviews. Maybe they just need to go in person and get the lunch buffet, because it has always been on point for me and there are always tons of office workers getting it.
