Based on the limited customer feedback available, experiences at New Fortune appear to be contrasting. One reviewer expressed significant dissatisfaction with several dishes, citing a lack of flavor and issues with preparation. In contrast, another customer reported consistently enjoying the food, finding it to be of great quality, always hot and fresh. This divergence in opinions suggests a potential inconsistency in the food quality or varying customer expectations.
Regarding the environment of New Fortune, one reviewer who picked up a takeout order noted that the interior was "dark dark." They speculated that this might be to obscure the food, but this is purely conjecture. No other details about the ambiance or décor are provided in the available reviews, so a comprehensive description of the dining environment cannot be objectively formed based on this information.
In terms of services, New Fortune offers takeout, as indicated by one customer who picked up their order. Another customer who loves the food did not specify their service method, implying both dine-in and takeout could be possibilities. To confirm all available service options, such as dine-in or delivery, it is recommended to contact the restaurant directly.
The features of New Fortune, as perceived by customers, present a mixed bag. One highly critical review detailed numerous issues with specific dishes. The Shrimp Egg Foo Yong was described as having "no flavor, no taste whatsoever," requiring doctoring up to be edible. The Shrimp Fried Rice, while containing a lot of shrimp, was reported to have no vegetables and also lacked flavor. The Teriyaki Beef was deemed a "mystery meat" that tasted like soap and was undercooked (rare). The Chicken Wings were described as overdone, hard to eat, and dried out, with only a hint of soy sauce flavor. The only dish that received somewhat positive feedback in this review was the Crab Rangoon, which was described as "not that bad" even though it was cold and old, indicating it was not fresh.
This negative reviewer strongly advised others to avoid New Fortune, labeling it a waste of money and expressing disbelief at the poor quality of the food. They also commented on the staff seeming personable during pickup but reiterated the significant issues with the taste and preparation of the food.
Conversely, the other reviewer had a completely different experience, stating, "Love the food here. Always get great food, always hot and fresh." They specifically praised the egg rolls for being "really good" and not greasy. While they found the crab rangoon to have less flavor than preferred, they still considered it "pretty good." This reviewer also mentioned really liking the chow mein, indicating it is a noteworthy dish for them.
Currently, there is no specific promotional information available from the provided customer reviews. Restaurants often have special offers or lunch deals to attract customers. To learn about any current promotions, discounts, or special menu items at New Fortune, it is recommended to check their website (if they have one) or contact them directly via phone. In conclusion, New Fortune in Greenfield has received contrasting reviews regarding its food quality. While one customer reported significant issues with the flavor and preparation of multiple dishes, another consistently praised the freshness and taste of the food, particularly highlighting the egg rolls and chow mein. The dining environment was briefly described as very dark by one reviewer. The restaurant offers takeout service, and potentially dine-in. For local users considering New Fortune, it is advisable to take into account the differing experiences and perhaps try a few commonly praised items like the egg rolls or chow mein while being mindful of the negative feedback regarding other dishes. Since I didn’t eat there, all I can speak about is the food. I love egg, foo, young, and I love shrimp egg foo yong, but if it has no flavor, no taste whatsoever don’t send it out. I had the doctor that food up in order to eat it. I ordered the shrimp fried rice, horrible yeah you had a lot of shrimp in there, but you don’t put no vegetables in it again no flavor. Teriyaki beef. I am not sure what that mystery meat was and it tasted like soap. I know how to make a teriyaki sauce to marinade. I’ve never ever tasted a meat like this, and it wasn’t even done completely. It was rare. The chicken wings were overdone. They were so hard to eat dried out. I could taste a little bit of the soy sauce that was it, but I will say the crab Rangoon, even with it being cold and old, it was not fresh, wasn’t that bad! For my friends who recommended this place get your palate checked! The staff seem personable when I picked up the order, but it’s so dark in there. I mean it’s dark dark. Maybe it’s so you can’t see the food I don’t know, but you have to taste it. There is no taste. Let me just say this don’t go in there don’t do it don’t order it. It’s a waste of money. There went $50 down to drain never again.
Love the food here. Always get great food, always hot and fresh . Egg rolls are really good, not greasy. crab rangoon don't have as much flavor as I like, but it's still pretty good. I really like the chow mein.
Best Chinese in greenfield ma area. Great lunch and dinner specials. Soups are bland some days but that is my only complaint Great Japanese menu too including from scratch sushi.
This is a good restaurant with fast, friendly service for excellent take out.
Order in or take out, I'd recommend this place any day of the week. The crab rangoons aren't too cream-cheesey. Staff is friendly and accommodating. This is my #1 choice for Chinese food in Franklin county.
