About New Dragon Palace
New Dragon Palace is a Chinese restaurant located at 821A S Main St in Kernersville, North Carolina. Serving the local community, they can be contacted at (336) 993-6888 or their mobile number +1 336-993-6888 for inquiries about their menu, services, or to place orders. As a Chinese restaurant in Kernersville, New Dragon Palace likely offers a variety of traditional Chinese-American dishes for dine-in, takeout, and potentially delivery to cater to different customer preferences.
Recent customer reviews of New Dragon Palace present a stark contrast in experiences. One reviewer had a positive impression, stating that the food was "hot, fresh, and delicious." They specifically highlighted the egg rolls, describing them as "some of the best I've eaten." This positive feedback suggests that New Dragon Palace may have some well-prepared dishes that are enjoyable to customers, with the egg rolls being a potential standout item.
However, another reviewer expressed significant dissatisfaction with their order. They described the food as "basic Chinese food," drawing a negative comparison to food that could be purchased from a supermarket. This customer questioned the authenticity of the cooking, wondering if it was genuinely prepared by Chinese individuals. Specific criticisms included "nasty and not fried" rice, honey chicken that tasted like pre-made chicken nuggets with Polynesian sauce, and bland General Tso's chicken. They also noted the absence of chopsticks in their order and the price of a small can of soda as $1. Additionally, they found the crab rangoons to taste like egg roll filling with cream cheese added, and the house fried noodles to be acceptable but overwhelmingly flavored with soy sauce. This highly critical review concluded with the reviewer, who identified as a full-time RVer passing through, suggesting that the restaurant might be busy due to a lack of other Chinese options in the area and recommending that others might find better alternatives in supermarket frozen food sections, advising them to request extra sauces to add their own flavor.
Considering these two reviews, the perception of New Dragon Palace appears to be quite polarized. One customer found the food to be fresh and delicious, particularly praising the egg rolls. In contrast, another customer found multiple dishes to be of poor quality, bland, and seemingly made with low-quality or pre-prepared ingredients. This discrepancy suggests potential inconsistencies in food preparation or a significant difference in individual taste preferences and expectations.
The negative review raises concerns about the authenticity and quality of several standard Chinese-American dishes offered at New Dragon Palace, including fried rice, honey chicken, General Tso's chicken, and crab rangoons. The description of these dishes as bland, tasting like processed food, or having unusual fillings could be off-putting to customers familiar with typical preparations of these items. The issue with the rice not being fried as expected and the excessive soy sauce flavor in the house fried noodles also point to potential shortcomings in their cooking methods.
The positive comment about the egg rolls being "some of the best" provides a specific item that might be a strength of the restaurant. If egg rolls are a favorite, this might be worth trying. However, the overall tone and specific criticisms in the negative review present a cautionary perspective on the general food quality at New Dragon Palace.
The available information does not provide any details about the restaurant's environment or ambiance for dine-in customers. The services offered are implied to include takeout and potentially delivery, in addition to dine-in. The features highlighted by the reviews are the potentially excellent egg rolls (according to one reviewer) and the reported issues with the quality and taste of several other dishes (according to another). There is no promotional information mentioned in the provided feedback.
For local users in Kernersville considering New Dragon Palace, the reviews present a mixed picture. While one customer enjoyed the food, especially the egg rolls, another had a very negative experience with multiple dishes, citing issues with taste, texture, and ingredient quality. Potential customers might want to consider these contrasting views and perhaps focus on trying the egg rolls if they decide to order. However, the strong criticisms of other standard menu items should also be taken into account. Given the lack of information about the dining environment and other potential features, the quality of the food seems to be the primary point of discussion based on these reviews.
In conclusion, New Dragon Palace in Kernersville has received both positive feedback regarding the freshness and taste of some of its food, particularly the egg rolls, and significant negative feedback concerning the quality and preparation of other common Chinese-American dishes like fried rice, honey chicken, General Tso's chicken, and crab rangoons. Local users should be aware of these differing opinions when considering dining at or ordering from New Dragon Palace. If egg rolls are a must-try, this might be a place to consider, but caution may be warranted regarding other menu items based on the available customer experiences.

The food was hot, fresh, and delicious. The egg rolls are some of the best I've eaten.
Basic Chinese food. Almost like they bought it from Walmart. I wonder if Chinese people actually own this place and are cooking because the rice was nasty and not fried. Honey chicken bland taste like they bought Tyson's nuggets and poured Polynesian sauce on it. No chopsticks in my order. $1 for a small can of soda. Crab ragoons tasted like eggroll mix with cream cheese added. General Tsos was bland. House fried noodles were ok but just tasted like soy sauce. We are full time RVers and stopped to do laundry sae this place looked busy but I guess y'all just don't have any other choices for Chinese in the area. Just go to Walmart and buy some from the frozen section. It's the same thing. Ask for lots of sauces so you can add your own flavor.
Ordered the honey chicken combination. There was minimal chicken and the rest was breading. It was decent but would order another item next time.
It’s exactly what you’d hope for in a Chinese-American restaurant that prioritizes take-out. Staff is very friendly and informative. Clean place, good smells lol. I had the gung pao and it was spicy! Veggies were crisp and fresh. I definitely will be back, it’s in such a good location.
Fast and easy service! I couldn’t get there fast enough as they were already calling back to make sure I was coming for the order. Order was bagged perfectly and kept my soup, condiments and main dish in perfect place even while carrying a handful of other groceries along with it. I would expect a dinner portion to be slightly bigger but I can excuse that. What I really didn’t enjoy about my first experience here is the wonton soup. I think we can all agree that wonton soup is supposed to be a savory pork broth with green onions. The broth tastes like lemon ginger and honey. No flavor, no onions. Sweet and barely any savory flavors. Wonton soup is my favorite part of getting Chinese so this was greatly disappointing for me. I had to go home, add my own broth cubes, my own spices and it was honestly just horrible. Please fix this recipe because everything else ticked all of my boxes!!!
