New Dragon presents a truly unique setup that sets it apart from typical Chinese restaurants. According to customer reviews, the establishment is divided into two distinct areas. One half operates as a traditional Chinese restaurant, offering a dining space where patrons can enjoy freshly cooked meals. The other half is a separate room that functions as a sports bar, complete with pool tables and pinball machines. This innovative combination provides a multifaceted experience for visitors, catering to those seeking a traditional meal as well as those looking for entertainment and a more casual atmosphere.

Regarding the environment of the restaurant side, one customer who dined there noted that it was quiet and had a nice ambiance, particularly because they were the only patrons present at the time. This suggests that the restaurant area can offer a relaxed setting, although it's important to consider that the atmosphere might vary depending on the time of day and customer volume. Another reviewer specifically mentioned that the noise from the bar side was not audible in the restaurant area, which is a significant positive for those wanting a quieter dining experience.

In terms of services, New Dragon primarily focuses on providing dine-in options for its Chinese cuisine. The friendly service was highlighted in one of the reviews, indicating a positive aspect of the dining experience. The unique integration of a sports bar suggests that they also offer bar service, including beverages, and entertainment options like pool and pinball. This dual offering allows customers to enjoy a meal and then engage in recreational activities within the same venue, or vice versa.

The menu at New Dragon features a range of classic Chinese dishes. One customer shared their order, which included sweet and sour soup, shrimp fried rice, BBQ pork, spring rolls, and salt and pepper shrimp. They noted that the shrimp in the fried rice were large, the sweet and sour soup was good, and the salt and pepper shrimp contained a good amount of vegetables. However, they found the spring rolls to be a bit too mushy and the BBQ pork to be dry. Despite these mixed reviews on specific items, the customer expressed a willingness to revisit and try other dishes, indicating an overall satisfactory experience.

The presence of a sports bar as part of New Dragon is a significant feature. One reviewer described the sports bar as busy and a solid place to hang out. The unique aspect of being able to enjoy freshly cooked Chinese food and then play pool is particularly noteworthy and could be a major draw for those looking for a more interactive dining and entertainment experience. This combination is not commonly found and positions New Dragon as a distinctive venue in Vancouver.

Pretty decent food, nothing too special but good. Service was awesome and my daughter and I were the only ones in there so the ambience was nice. We ordered sweet and sour soup, shrimp fried rice, bbq pork, spring rolls and salt and pepper shrimp. There were huge pieces of shrimp in the rice, sweet and sour soup was good and the salt and pepper shrimp had lots of good veggies. The spring rolls were a little too mushy and pork dry. I can see myself revisiting and trying something new.

Very unique setup. One half is a traditional Chinese Restaurant and the other half in another room is a Sports Bar with pool tables and pinball. I went to the Restaurant and you couldn’t really hear the bar side which is nice. The food was good and the service was very friendly. Sports Bar was busy and seems like a solid place to hang out, not often you get to have fresh cooked Chinese food and then go play pool.

This place just opened a few days ago as of this review! I believe it used to be Tender Green Kitchen. The roommates and I tried it out and we were very satisfied. We each ordered a dish for the three of us to share and we made sure to try something off their daily menu, last night's was green beans in a black bean sauce with choice of meat (we did shrimp). Green beans were amazing they were perfectly crunchy and "squeaky" while chewing them, exactly the consistency we were looking for! The shrimps were good size and cooked well! Neither under nor overcooked. I ordered the Singapore style noodles. Although pan fried they were really tender and delicious, not greasy! The amount of curry powder used was great for both taste and smell! We had the combo noodles to try a bit of every meat and everything was great! The third dish was the twice cooked pork in a spicy sauce which was not terribly spicy but had just the right amount of kick! It really satiated our Chinese food craving. The restaurant was quiet and clean, plenty of space between tables. The hostess/waitress/one of the owners was very attentive and polite and the food all came out fresh and on time! Will definitely be coming back!

This restaurant had food that was ok at best. Lacking flavor, chicken was tough. I had to pour sweet and sour sauce all over my food to get flavor and something good. For the price, there are many other better options out in town. Really wanted to love this place because of the service you get there. Our waitress was so very sweet and very attentive to us. If it hadn’t been for her, my review would’ve been a lower rating.
