I had an absolutely amazing dining experience at New Chinatown on East 92nd Street! The food was authentic and bursting with flavor, especially the dumplings. The atmosphere was cozy yet vibrant, and the staff were incredibly attentive and welcoming. It’s a hidden gem in the Upper East Side, perfect for anyone craving high-quality Chinese cuisine. I’ll definitely be returning and highly recommend it to anyone in the area!

We ordered coconut fried rice, crispy salty pepper shrimps, general Tso’s beef, and uptown duck tonight. The coconut fried rice really blew my mind. The flavor was good, and they even scraped out the meat of the coconut and combined it into the fried rice. The shrimps in the fried rice were pretty fresh, too. It was my favorite dish of the night. The general Tso’s beef was also outstanding. The seasoning was just spot on, and created a very balanced flavor. The uptown duck was also pretty good. The duck was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. In addition, they were boneless!! The red curry was nice, but too mild to my taste. All the vegetables were nice and fresh, it came with pumpkins, sweet peppers, bamboo shoots, and eggplants. The crispy salty and pepper shrimps were actually kind of bland and disappointing. I thought it would be more flavorful, but the saltiness was so overpowering, and the pepper flavor was not strong enough. Overall, most of the dishes exceeded my expectations. I would like to come back and tried the other items on the menu.

We started with the shuami which had a pea on top that was the best shumai I ever had . Also started with the rainbow soup dumplings each individual dumplings had its own unique ingredient inside which made it interesting to see what you get . For entrees we did the pineapple rice with chicken. I also had an item that wasn't even on the menu but the beef was great nice spices to it very traditional tasting dish drank a lychee martini also which hit the spot for happy hour highly recommend this place for a dine in or quick bite . Enjoy

If you’re looking for a cute restaurant with amazing genuine Chinese cuisine, this is the right place! I love the juicy pork soup dumplings and honey walnuts shrimp! The soup dumplings are homemade and it tasted different than other dumplings I ate before. The staff Jessy was so nice and patient. Definitely rate 5 stars!

Serene is the word that comes to mind when I think of New Chinatown Restaurant. The plant decor coupled with the classical piano renditions of popular songs makes you feel as if you have been transported to a greenhouse or garden oasis, making it the perfect place to catch up with a friend while enjoying delicious food or a quiet, peaceful dinner. They offer both Thai and Chinese and serve fairly large portions at ridiculously affordable prices, so be sure to come hungry. They have a great $12 lunch special and offer happy hour specials from 3:30 to 6:30 PM on Mondays to Saturdays.
