About New China Restaurant

New China Restaurant is a Chinese restaurant located at 30105 Three Notch Rd # A in Charlotte Hall, Maryland. As a local Chinese eatery, it primarily serves the surrounding community, offering a range of standard Chinese-American dishes. However, recent customer feedback available online paints a concerning picture of the restaurant, particularly regarding food safety, quality, and service. This introduction aims to provide an objective summary of these reviews to inform local users considering dining or ordering from New China Restaurant.

Details regarding the restaurant's environment or ambiance are scarce in the provided reviews. One review mentions the presence of "tarps," which could suggest ongoing maintenance issues or a less than ideal physical setting. This lack of positive commentary on the environment implies that it may not be a notable aspect of the dining experience at New China Restaurant.

The service aspect, based on the available reviews, appears to be significantly problematic. One alarming account describes a customer finding a piece of metal, possibly steel wool, in their shrimp lo mein, which allegedly caused cuts inside their mouth. The response from the restaurant, as reported by the customer, was a dismissive "I’ll tell my cook to be more careful next time," which indicates a lack of serious concern for food safety and customer well-being. This incident raises serious questions about the restaurant's food preparation standards and their handling of customer complaints.

Another review advises potential customers to "steer clear" of the establishment for takeout. This strong recommendation is based on multiple negative experiences, including the absence of "half and half," described as a "carryout basic," which the reviewer interpreted as a "clear warning sign" of other missing essentials. This suggests potential issues with the restaurant's inventory management and attention to basic customer needs for takeout orders.

The feature most prominently highlighted in the negative reviews is the poor quality of the food. One customer reported receiving "stale food" on Christmas, a time when fresh and high-quality meals are typically expected. This experience led to an unmet expectation of a refund, further contributing to the negative perception. Multiple reviewers described the dishes as "tasteless and passionless," indicating a lack of flavor and care in the food preparation. The overall sentiment suggests a significant dissatisfaction with the culinary offerings at New China Restaurant.

The recurring themes in the negative feedback point to serious concerns about food safety, the quality of ingredients, and the overall preparation of the dishes. The incident involving the metal in the food is particularly alarming and should be a significant consideration for anyone thinking of ordering from this establishment. The lack of appropriate response from the restaurant to such a serious issue further compounds these concerns.

The mention of "missing essentials" for carryout, such as half and half, along with the presence of tarps, paints a picture of a restaurant that may be struggling with basic operational aspects and potentially neglecting the quality of its offerings and the maintenance of its premises. The strong recommendations to avoid the restaurant, especially for takeout, should be taken seriously by local users.

Given the overwhelmingly negative recent feedback, local users in Charlotte Hall, MD, should exercise extreme caution when considering New China Restaurant. The reported food safety issue, the complaints about stale and tasteless food, and the lack of concern shown by the restaurant management in response to serious incidents are significant red flags. The absence of positive comments regarding the environment or service further reinforces the negative overall impression.

While New China Restaurant is located at 30105 Three Notch Rd # A in Charlotte Hall, MD, and can be contacted at (301) 290-1992 or +1 301-290-1992, the available customer reviews strongly suggest that potential patrons should carefully consider these experiences before deciding to dine or order from this establishment. The warnings from other customers to "steer clear" and to "save your time and money" should not be ignored. Local residents may want to explore other Chinese restaurant options in the Charlotte Hall area that have received more positive and reassuring feedback regarding food quality, safety, and service.

I was eating my shrimp lo mein and found either a strip of steel wool, or some type of metal. I had eaten it and felt the inside of my mouth getting cut up. I called the restaurant and all the woman said was “I’ll tell my cook to be more careful next time.”

If you're considering takeout, steer clear of this place! No half and half, a carryout basic—clear warning signs were there with missing essentials like that. The presence of tarps and the absence of basic ingredients should have been red flags. On Christmas, they dished out stale food, and my expectation for a refund wasn't met with any surprise. The tasteless and passionless dishes were truly disappointing. Save your time and money—this place is a letdown. I'll let the photos speak for themselves....
