About New China

Welcome to New China, a Chinese restaurant serving the Belmont, North Carolina community from its location at 6517 Wilkinson Blvd. As a local establishment in the Chinese Restaurant category, New China aims to provide a range of familiar Chinese-American dishes to its patrons. Situated on a well-known thoroughfare, it offers accessibility for both local residents and visitors seeking Chinese cuisine.

For those interested in placing an order or making inquiries, New China can be reached at (704) 829-1010 or via their mobile number, +1 704-829-1010. These contact options provide convenient ways for customers to connect with the restaurant for takeout services.

Based on recent customer feedback, experiences at New China appear to be somewhat mixed. One customer reported issues with several dishes ordered during their first visit. They noted that the pork fried rice contained very little pork, and the hot and sour soup also seemed to lack substantial ingredients. While they found the garlic chicken to have good flavor and a decent amount of chicken, they unfortunately discovered a large piece of hard plastic in the dish. This negative experience left them skeptical about future visits but did not entirely rule them out.

In contrast, another customer shared a more positive experience with a takeout order. They highlighted the speed of service, with their order being ready in under ten minutes. They also appreciated the restaurant's thoughtfulness in providing utensils and extra napkins, as they were staying at a hotel. The shrimp lo mein was described as delicious and very flavorful, containing a good amount of shrimp. The customer also noted that the food was packed in a plastic container, which was suitable for reheating leftovers in a microwave. While they wished the egg drop soup had more egg, this did not detract significantly from their overall satisfaction. They also mentioned the restaurant's convenient location near the Hampton Inn and indicated that they would definitely order takeout from New China again due to the convenience, quantity of food, and flavor.

Considering these reviews, it seems that while New China may offer some well-received dishes and efficient service, there might be inconsistencies in the preparation and quality of certain menu items. The positive feedback regarding the shrimp lo mein and the attentiveness to providing utensils for a hotel guest suggests a focus on customer convenience and satisfaction in some areas. However, the negative feedback concerning the lack of ingredients in the pork fried rice and hot and sour soup, and the presence of a foreign object in another dish, raises concerns about food quality control.

As a Chinese restaurant, New China likely features a menu that includes a variety of classic Chinese-American cuisine. This typically encompasses appetizers such as spring rolls and dumplings, a selection of soups like wonton soup and egg drop soup, and a range of main courses featuring different proteins (chicken, beef, pork, shrimp) prepared with various vegetables and sauces. Rice dishes, including fried rice and steamed rice, as well as noodle dishes like lo mein and chow mein, are also standard offerings. Given the specific mentions in the reviews, dishes like pork fried rice, hot and sour soup, garlic chicken, shrimp lo mein, and egg drop soup are likely part of their menu. Potential customers may want to inquire about the specific ingredients and preparation methods of their favorite dishes.

Details about the environment and ambiance of New China are not provided in the available reviews. Typically, local Chinese restaurants offer a casual and functional dining space. The decor can vary from simple to more traditionally themed. Customers who prefer to dine in might find it helpful to visit the location to assess the atmosphere or inquire about their dine-in facilities when contacting the restaurant.

In terms of services, New China definitely offers takeout, as indicated by one of the reviews. The speed of their takeout service was also highlighted as a positive aspect. While delivery service is not explicitly mentioned, it is a common offering for many Chinese restaurants, especially those catering to local residents and nearby hotels. Customers interested in delivery options should contact the restaurant directly to inquire about their delivery范围 and any associated fees or minimum order requirements.

Features that might set New China apart are not clearly evident from the limited review information. The positive mention of providing utensils and napkins for a hotel guest suggests a focus on catering to the needs of travelers and those requiring convenient takeout. The flavorful shrimp lo mein also indicates a potential strength in certain noodle dishes. However, the reported inconsistencies in other dishes might be an area for potential improvement.

Currently, there is no promotional information available for New China. Chinese restaurants often offer lunch specials, combination meals, or discounts on certain days. To learn about any current promotions or special offers, it is advisable to check their menu when ordering or inquire directly with the restaurant staff via phone.

In summary, New China in Belmont, NC, is a Chinese restaurant offering takeout service and a menu of familiar Chinese-American dishes. Customer reviews indicate a mixed experience, with positive feedback on the speed of service and the flavor of some dishes like the shrimp lo mein, but concerns raised about the lack of ingredients in other dishes and a significant issue with a foreign object found in one order. Potential customers may want to consider these varied experiences when deciding to order from New China. For the most accurate information on their menu, services (including potential dine-in or delivery options), and any current promotions, contacting the restaurant directly at (704) 829-1010 or +1 704-829-1010 is recommended.

I ordered the pork fried rice … which barely had pork in it and hot and sour soup with the same issue of lacking nutrition, and the chicken in Garlic sauce which had good flavor and a decent amount of chicken but unfortunately a large piece of hard plastic. I may try again but I am definitely skeptical as this was my first visit to this restaurant.

Placed a take out order and it was ready in less than ten minutes. I requested utensils because I was staying at a hotel and they made sure that was in my bag along with extra napkins. The shrimp lo mein was delicious and very flavorful with nice size shrimp. The plastic container was packed full and it was perfect for heating up leftovers in hotel microwave (rather than a styrofoam container) I wish the egg drop soup had more egg in it but that didn’t stop me from eating all of it. They are located right down the street from the Hampton Inn and I would definitely order take out from here again for convenience, quantity of food and flavor.

Found this place as I was in the area and I’m glad I did. This was one of the best Chinese restaurants I’ve been to. The chicken was crispy and never chewy, the hot and sour soup with the wontons had a balance of flavor and spice. The beef and broccoli had great flavor and the vegetables were fresh. The crab rangoon was delicious and they give you a generous portion! I had a great experience and will be happy to go back!

Just moved to Belmont and was looking for a good chinese restaurant. Stopped by New China and tried the Orange Chicken...delicious! Chicken was crispy on the outside but moist inside and sauce was tasty. Fried rice also had good flavor. A real steal for an $8.00 lunch special.

We absolutely loved New China and apparently, everyone else does, too! They were super busy! They have a handful of tables where you can dine-in or takeout is readily available, too. Everything we purchased was full of flavor! The hot n sour soup was fire, the Kung Pow Chicken was amazing but our favorite was the chicken Terryaki on a stick! We, also, ordered spring rolls and an egg roll...both were delicious! Thank you, New China...you have new regular customers! This is in same shopping center as Goodwill in Belmont.
