About New China

Located at 1709 W Osage St in Pacific, Missouri, New China operates as a "Chinese Restaurant" serving a variety of Chinese-American dishes to the local community. Based on recent customer reviews available online, the experiences at New China appear to be quite polarized, with some customers finding certain dishes satisfactory while others have raised significant concerns regarding service, cleanliness, and food quality. Potential patrons should carefully consider these contrasting viewpoints when deciding whether to dine at or order from this establishment.

Regarding the environment of New China, one reviewer described the "dining room" as "absolutely filthy." This is a strong and concerning statement that suggests a significant lack of cleanliness in the area where customers eat. Such conditions can be a major deterrent for those considering dining in. The other reviewer did not comment on the cleanliness of the restaurant, focusing instead on their takeout order experience. The stark description of a "filthy dining room" paints a negative picture of the in-house environment at New China, which potential dine-in customers should be aware of.

In terms of services, New China offers both takeout and potentially dine-in options, as one reviewer mentioned the "dining room," implying its existence and use. The first reviewer ordered takeout for themselves and their boyfriend. The availability of delivery services is not explicitly mentioned in the provided feedback, but it is a common service for many Chinese restaurants and could be an option offered by New China. Interested customers can contact the restaurant at (636) 257-6000 or +1 636-257-6000 to inquire about their full range of services, including dine-in availability and delivery options. The customer service experience appears to be a point of contention.

The customer service at New China received mixed feedback. The first reviewer recounted an issue with their order – they received something other than the "Shrimp Chow mein" they had ordered. Upon returning to the restaurant, they were met with a dismissive explanation about the difference between chow mein and lo mein, despite the received dish consisting of "chopped up lettuce and onion in some broth" without noodles. The reviewer felt this was not an adequate explanation and chose to leave without resolving the issue, expressing disappointment with the interaction. In contrast, the second reviewer mentioned "slow service" as a negative aspect of their experience but did not elaborate further on the staff's demeanor or helpfulness.

The quality and taste of the food at New China also received contrasting opinions. The first reviewer found the "general tso’s" to be "good as always," suggesting a consistent positive experience with this particular dish. However, their experience with the "Shrimp Chow mein" (or the dish they received instead) was clearly negative, as it did not resemble what they expected chow mein to be. The second reviewer described the overall food quality as "the cheapest quality" and noted that while the "portions were large," the food "tasted old." This is a significant concern regarding the freshness and quality of the ingredients used at New China.

Despite the generally negative feedback from the second reviewer, they did highlight one positive aspect: "the crab Rangoon was delicious." This suggests that while other dishes may be lacking, the crab rangoon might be a standout item on the menu. The first reviewer did not try the crab rangoon due to their negative experience with the other dishes ordered. The mention of both "chow mein" and "lo mein" in the first review indicates that New China likely offers both types of noodle dishes, although the customer's experience suggests potential issues with order accuracy or understanding of these dishes by the staff.

Currently, there is no information available in the provided reviews regarding any specific promotional offers or discounts at New China. Given the mixed feedback on food quality and service, any promotional offers might be an incentive for potential customers to try the restaurant or return despite negative experiences. Individuals interested in learning about any specials or deals should contact the restaurant directly using the provided phone numbers. Checking local online food ordering platforms might also provide information on any discounts or bundled meals that New China may be offering.

In conclusion, New China, located at 1709 W Osage St in Pacific, MO, presents a mixed and somewhat concerning picture based on recent customer reviews. While one customer found the General Tso's to be consistently good, another experienced an incorrect order and dismissive customer service. Additionally, the dining room was described as "filthy," and the overall food quality was labeled as "cheap" and "old," although the crab rangoon was a noted positive. Potential customers should carefully consider these contrasting experiences, particularly the serious concerns raised about cleanliness and food quality, before deciding to dine at or order from New China. For those interested in learning more about their menu, services, or any potential promotions, contacting the restaurant directly at (636) 257-6000 or +1 636-257-6000 is recommended.

My boyfriend and I wanted an easy dinner. I got the general tso’s and it was good as always. My boyfriend however ordered Shrimp Chow mein. I dont know we got but it wasnt what we ordered so we drove back. When I told the lady at the front that we didnt order that she told me “chow mein is different then lo mein”…..i didnt feel like fighting so we left. im sorry but chow mein and lo mein BOTH have noodles? not just chopped up lettuce and onion in some broth.

If you have another option, choose it over this place. Slow service, absolutely filthy dining room and the cheapest quality food. The portions were large , but tasted old. One positive, the crab Rangoon was delicious.

Amazing food! We have tried multiple Chinese restaurants in the area and nothing is as fresh and flavorful as New China!

The food wasn't bad, we ordered lo mein, egg foo yung, two kinds of fried rice, broccoli and rice, and soup. However, when I tried to call to order, the woman kept yelling that she couldn't understand me and hung up on my. Someone else tried with the same result. So we went there and you really can't eat it, there were boxes and piles of things everywhere. The same woman was fairly rude while we were ordering in person. Again, food was good though.
