About New China

Welcome to New China, a Chinese restaurant located at 121 Sherron Rd #105, Durham, NC 27703, USA. As a part of the Chinese Restaurant platform category, New China aims to provide Chinese cuisine to the Durham community, primarily through takeout and delivery services. New China caters to individuals and families in the Durham area seeking Chinese food for convenient takeout or delivery. Based on recent customer reviews, it is crucial for potential customers to be aware of significant issues reported regarding order accuracy and customer service before deciding to patronize this establishment. The limited feedback available paints a concerning picture that warrants careful consideration.

One customer reported a severely negative experience with their order. Despite specifically requesting orange chicken, they received it with broccoli, an item they did not ask for. Furthermore, their order of chicken chow mein was delivered without any noodles, a fundamental component of the dish. This customer expressed extreme dissatisfaction, stating, "I had ask for 2 things orange chicken and chow main and still not right smh It doesn't get any easier then that. I will not go back." This indicates a significant problem with order fulfillment and attention to detail.

Another customer shared an even more alarming experience involving a substantial order placed for delivery. They reported that three meals were missing from their order. Upon contacting the restaurant, they were allegedly told that they needed to drive to the location to pick up the missing items, despite having paid $90 for Uber delivery, which was nonrefundable. The situation further deteriorated when the restaurant reportedly called back, stating they would only provide two of the three missing meals. This customer described New China as a "horrible place" that "just ripped us off," emphasizing the financial loss and lack of resolution. They strongly advised others against ordering from New China, labeling them as "bad business and thieves who steal." The customer's frustration was evident in their description of paying $90 for soup and two egg rolls, accompanied by a photo as evidence. Their concluding statement was a strong warning: "If you read this and order anyway blame yourself when you get ripped off theres lots of other places out there who are honest."

These two highly negative reviews provide the only available insight into recent customer experiences at New China. Both reviews highlight critical failures in order accuracy and customer service, raising serious concerns about the reliability and integrity of this establishment. The issues reported extend beyond simple mistakes, suggesting a potential lack of quality control and a disregard for customer satisfaction, particularly in the handling of order errors and delivery issues.

For local users in Durham, NC, New China presents itself as a local Chinese restaurant offering takeout and delivery. However, the overwhelmingly negative feedback regarding incorrect orders and severely mishandled delivery issues should serve as a significant warning. Potential customers should be extremely cautious and consider the high risk of receiving incorrect orders or facing difficulties in resolving any issues that may arise. The experiences reported by other customers suggest a lack of dependability that could lead to frustration and financial loss.

Information regarding the environment of New China is not provided in the available customer reviews. Therefore, it is not possible to offer any objective description of the restaurant's ambiance or cleanliness based on this feedback. The focus of the reviews is solely on the negative aspects of order fulfillment and customer service, overshadowing any potential insights into the dining environment, assuming dine-in is even an option.

In terms of services, the reviews explicitly mention takeout and delivery. However, the reported issues with delivery, including missing items and the refusal to rectify the situation without further cost and inconvenience to the customer, raise serious concerns about the reliability of their delivery service. The inaccuracies in takeout orders also indicate a potential lack of attention to detail in their order preparation process.

Regarding features, based on the negative reviews, it is challenging to identify any positive features. The fact that a simple order of orange chicken and chicken chow mein was prepared incorrectly, and a delivery order was significantly incomplete and mishandled, suggests a fundamental lack of operational efficiency and quality control. Any potential features, such as specific dishes or pricing, are overshadowed by the severe issues reported by customers.

The provided information does not contain any details about current promotional offers or specials at New China. Given the significant negative feedback regarding basic order fulfillment and customer service, any potential promotions would likely be irrelevant to customers who prioritize receiving their correct order and fair treatment.

In conclusion, New China in Durham, NC, is a Chinese restaurant offering takeout and delivery services. However, recent customer reviews paint a dire picture of significant problems with order accuracy and customer service, including incorrect food preparation and severely mishandled delivery issues resulting in financial loss for the customer. For local users in Durham, proceeding with extreme caution is advised. The reported experiences suggest a high risk of receiving incorrect orders and encountering significant difficulties in resolving any problems. Potential customers may want to consider alternative Chinese restaurants in the area with more positive and reliable customer feedback before choosing to order from New China.

For residents of Durham seeking Chinese takeout or delivery, the available information strongly suggests avoiding New China due to the serious issues reported by recent customers. The lack of attention to order accuracy and the apparent disregard for customer satisfaction, particularly in delivery scenarios, indicate a high likelihood of a negative experience. Exploring other Chinese restaurants in Durham with a proven track record of reliable service and accurate order fulfillment would be a prudent decision to avoid potential frustration and financial loss.

Pretty good for take out Chinese food. Hard to complain, food is pretty good overall. Love their crab rangoon, bourbon chicken, and pork fried rice. Inside tends to be too warm In the summer and occasionally they will be closed with no warning or notice.

Shrimp fried rice had no seasoning. Very bland. Rice was hard. Egg drop soup was watery and no flavor. Soy sauce and other packets kept behind counter. Won’t let you access.

Expensive for what you get--literally barely any meat in the wontons (see pic, its literally a smudge of meat and all pasta), and the egg rolls the size of spring rolls. Just sad. Go somewhere else.
