About New China
Welcome to New China Restaurant, a Chinese eatery located at 1026 N Mildred St in Ranson, West Virginia. Operating under the platform category of "Chinese Restaurant," New China aims to provide the local community with a range of Chinese culinary options, likely including both dine-in and takeout services. However, based on the limited customer feedback available, the restaurant appears to elicit strongly opposing views regarding its quality and overall experience.
One customer expressed a surprisingly positive opinion of New China, particularly in light of potentially negative prior perceptions based on other reviews. This reviewer stated that they had anticipated a "nasty place and food" due to these reviews but found the reality to be quite different. They went so far as to say that New China is "better than DC or Any other place" they had experienced. Identifying as a customer who believes in providing accurate information, they described everything as "ok" and lauded the restaurant as "awesome," offering a strong recommendation and encouraging them to "keep it up." This review suggests that some customers may have a significantly positive experience at New China, potentially finding the food and overall quality to be commendable.
Conversely, another customer provided an overwhelmingly negative account of their experiences with New China. This reviewer stated that they had tried the restaurant "several times in the last 5 years" but would "never again" patronize the establishment. Their most recent experience allegedly resulted in illness. They described the food as tasting like "old grease" and the rice as "dry," indicating significant concerns about the freshness and preparation of the food. Furthermore, they found the premises to be "dirty" and the staff to be "rude," pointing to issues with both the cleanliness of the restaurant and the customer service provided.
Beyond the immediate aspects of food and service, this negative review also raised concerns about the overall upkeep and management of the establishment. The reviewer mentioned seeing the staff's children in the restaurant, which they seemingly viewed negatively. Additionally, they highlighted the presence of an "old broken down jeep on jack stands" that had been in the parking lot for "YEARS," interpreting this as a sign of a lack of care and attention to the restaurant's appearance. They also noted the lack of snow removal after the last snowfall, resulting in icy conditions in the parking lot, further reinforcing their perception of neglect. The reviewer concluded their scathing feedback by expressing hope that the health department would shut down what they deemed a "nasty place."
The stark contrast between these two reviews makes it challenging to form a definitive objective assessment of New China Restaurant based solely on this limited information. One customer found it to be an "awesome" experience that defied negative expectations, while another described repeated negative experiences culminating in illness and cited numerous issues related to food quality, cleanliness, service, and general upkeep of the premises.
Given the available information, there are no details provided regarding the restaurant's ambiance or dine-in environment beyond the cleanliness concerns raised in the negative review. Similarly, there is no information about specific services offered, such as delivery options, or any unique features that might characterize New China. No promotional information is mentioned in either of the provided reviews.
For local users in Ranson, WV, considering New China Restaurant, it is crucial to acknowledge the highly divergent opinions expressed in these reviews. The positive review suggests a potentially satisfactory experience that could exceed expectations, while the negative review paints a concerning picture of poor food quality, unsanitary conditions, rude service, and a general lack of care for the establishment's appearance and safety. Potential customers may want to consider the significant risks highlighted in the negative review before deciding to patronize New China. It might be advisable to seek more recent and a broader range of reviews from other customers to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the current state of the restaurant.

Local users are advised to consider these divergent views and potentially seek additional information before making a decision about dining at New China.

Customer Reviews
I thought nasty place and food because of the reviews but this is better than DC or Any other place as a customer I must provide the correct information about places like that everything is ok this please awesome thank you so much.keep it up.
Horrible. We have tried it several times in the last 5 years. Never again. It made us so sick last time. The food tastes like old grease. The rice is dry. The place is dirty. The staff is rude. They keep their children in the restaurant. And what is up with the old broken down jeep on jack stands? That thing has been in the parking lot for YEARS!!! Just shows they don't care. They never bothered to plow or shovel after the last snow. Ice was everywhere. I hope the health department shuts this nasty place down.
The amount of sauce on 2 dishes was maybe equivalent to 1, the seafood soup had some nasty little things I think resembled lobster but tasted like old fish bait
The food is not good. The place needs to be cleaned. If you have to get food here, only get the steamed dumplings.
This place is horrible. The food taste terrible evertime we try it out. The fried rice is so dry and old tasting. The general TSO chicken has no chicken in it literally all batter breading. The lady at the counter super rude and she is always right and will not remake your food or refund you. And if u don't watch carefully she adds a couple dollars to the total caught her twice
