About New China

Welcome to New China Restaurant, situated at 252 E Gate Dr in Aiken, South Carolina, 29803, USA. As a Chinese restaurant serving the Aiken community, New China aims to provide a range of Chinese culinary options, likely focusing on takeout and potentially delivery services. The location on East Gate Drive suggests accessibility for local residents. While specific details about the restaurant's ambiance or interior are not provided in the available customer reviews, it is common for takeout-oriented Chinese restaurants to have a functional space with a counter for order placement and pickup, along with a kitchen for food preparation. The atmosphere is typically casual and geared towards efficient service rather than an elaborate dine-in experience.

The services offered by New China Restaurant likely include takeout, allowing customers to order their meals by phone at (803) 641-1229 or +1 803-641-1229 and collect them from the restaurant. Many Chinese restaurants also offer delivery services to cater to a wider customer base. To confirm if New China provides delivery to your area, as well as to inquire about the possibility of online ordering or any other specific services they might offer, it is recommended to contact them directly. The absence of positive comments regarding service in the provided reviews suggests that the focus of the feedback is primarily on the quality of the food itself.

Based on the limited customer reviews available, there are significant concerns regarding the food quality at New China Restaurant. One customer who purchased the garlic chicken described it as "completely disgusting," noting that the chicken was "very tough and grisly." This negative experience led them to state that they would not be returning, even though they acknowledged that the meal was at least cheap. This review highlights a major issue with the texture and quality of the chicken in at least one of their dishes.

Another customer, a first-time visitor looking for "good food," also reported a highly unsatisfactory experience. They ordered chicken fried rice, paid extra to have white rice fried, and requested soy sauce to be added during the cooking process. However, they received warmed-up white rice with what they described as "subpar chicken" and an excessive amount of white onions, with no indication of soy sauce having been used in the preparation. This suggests a failure to follow specific order instructions and a lack of quality in the ingredients and cooking process for their fried rice.

Furthermore, the same reviewer ordered wonton soup, which they found to be equally disappointing. They described the broth as having a "dark yellow" color, whereas traditional wonton soup typically has a clear broth. The wontons themselves were reported as "not completely cooked." This indicates potential issues with the preparation and cooking of their soup as well, raising concerns about food safety and adherence to expected culinary standards.

Adding a broader critique, this reviewer expressed a wish that restaurants like New China would clarify if their food is not "real Chinese food," as they felt unable to distinguish based on the restaurant's sign or lobby pictures. This suggests a perception that the food served at New China does not align with authentic Chinese cuisine, which might be a significant factor for customers seeking a genuine culinary experience. The fact that the reviewer could not discern the difference simply by looking at the establishment implies a potential misrepresentation of the type of food being offered.

The consistent negative feedback in both available reviews, focusing on issues with the quality and preparation of specific dishes such as garlic chicken, chicken fried rice, and wonton soup, paints a concerning picture of the food served at New China Restaurant. While one reviewer mentioned the cheap prices as a minor positive, this was overshadowed by their strong dissatisfaction with the food itself. The lack of any positive comments regarding the taste, freshness, or preparation of the food suggests that potential customers should be cautious and consider these experiences when deciding where to order Chinese food in Aiken.

There is no information provided regarding any promotional offers or specials at New China Restaurant. Local users interested in potential discounts or deals should contact the restaurant directly at (803) 641-1229 or +1 803-641-1229 to inquire. They may have daily specials, combination meals, or other promotions that could offer better value. Checking local online platforms or social media, if New China has a presence, might also provide information on any current offers or additional customer feedback, though the limited number of reviews available suggests a potentially smaller online footprint.

In conclusion, New China Restaurant in Aiken, SC, primarily offers takeout and potentially delivery services. However, the available customer reviews express significant dissatisfaction with the quality and preparation of their food, citing issues with tough chicken, poorly executed fried rice, and unappetizing wonton soup. While the prices were noted as cheap by one reviewer, the overall sentiment suggests that the food quality is a major concern. Potential customers seeking authentic and well-prepared Chinese cuisine may want to consider these reviews carefully. For more information on their menu, delivery options, and any potential promotions, contacting New China Restaurant directly is recommended, but the existing feedback strongly suggests caution regarding the food quality.

I purchased garlic chicken from there today and it was completely disgusting. The chicken was very tough and grisly. I won't be going back. I'm glad it was at least cheap.

First time eating here as I was in the mood for good food. I ordered chicken fried rice paid extra for white rice and asked to have it fried. Soy sauce never made it to the wok and I just got warmed up white rice with subpar chicken and overloaded with white onions. I also ordered wonton soup which had a dark yellow broth and the wonton was not completely cooked wonton soup should have a clear broth and be delicious. I wish restaurants like these would explain that this is not real Chinese food as I for one can't tell the difference just looking at the sign or the lobby pictures.

This place is ridiculous! Placed an order online, it took 2 hours from the time order was placed till it was delivered! Food NOT SEALED, leaked in the bag all over everything! Thank goodness it was in a plastic bag, and charged a delivery fee! LoMein was like warm at best. I could have taken the family out and been back before food arrived. NEVER WILL ORDER FROM HERE AGAIN, and I suggest you find another place as well…BEWARE!!!

The service is friendly. The orders are prepared quickly and the sesame chicken is the best I've had.
