About New China

Welcome to New China, your local Chinese restaurant situated at 8781 Blue Ridge Blvd in Raytown, Missouri. As a part of the Chinese Restaurant category, New China offers a variety of Chinese dishes and appears to cater to customers primarily through delivery and potentially takeout services, although dine-in options might also be available. Based on the limited customer reviews available, experiences at New China are somewhat divided, with positive feedback on certain dishes and service aspects contrasted by significant concerns about the quality of at least one main dish.

One customer who utilized New China's delivery service reported a very positive experience overall. They mentioned that everything they ordered was "so good" and specifically appreciated that the restaurant followed their request to make the rice spicy. This ability to customize orders, particularly regarding spice levels, can be a significant draw for customers with specific preferences. The reviewer also detailed their order, which included combination fried rice with egg, crab rangoons that they identified as having a recipe reminiscent of the 1990s from their childhood, and fried chicken wings. The positive mention of these specific items suggests that they are well-prepared and enjoyable, with the crab rangoons even evoking nostalgic satisfaction for this customer.

However, another customer had a more critical experience with a specific dish, the General Tso's chicken. While they noted that the portion size was "very big," which could be seen as a positive aspect in terms of value, the quality of the chicken itself was deemed "bad." They described it as "soft and rubbery" and stated that it did not even taste like chicken. This is a significant concern regarding the quality of a popular menu item. Interestingly, this reviewer did have a positive comment about the crab rangoons, aligning with the other reviewer's favorable opinion of this appetizer. This suggests that the quality of different dishes at New China might vary considerably.

Given the limited information from these two reviews, it is challenging to accurately describe the environment of New China. As one reviewer specifically mentioned delivery, it is possible that the restaurant primarily focuses on takeout and delivery, with a potentially smaller or less emphasized dine-in area. The term "classic Chinese takeout" often implies a functional space designed for efficient order processing and pickup, rather than an elaborate dining ambiance. However, without more information, this remains speculative.

In terms of services, New China clearly offers delivery, as mentioned by one customer. The fact that both reviewers placed orders implies that takeout is also available. Whether New China provides a dine-in option is not explicitly stated in the reviews. Many Chinese takeout restaurants do have some tables for customers who wish to eat their food on-site, but the primary focus is usually on off-premises consumption. To confirm if dine-in is an available service at New China, it would be best to contact them directly.

Features of New China, based on the positive review, include the ability to customize spice levels in their dishes, which is a significant plus for customers who enjoy spicy food. The positive reception of their combination fried rice, crab rangoons (with a nostalgic recipe), and fried chicken wings suggests that these are well-regarded menu items. However, the negative feedback regarding the General Tso's chicken, particularly its poor texture and taste, is a notable drawback. The large portion size of the General Tso's chicken could be seen as a feature in terms of value, but this is negated by the reported low quality of the main ingredient. The consistent positive mention of the crab rangoons indicates that this is a potentially reliable and popular appetizer at New China.

In conclusion, New China at 8781 Blue Ridge Blvd in Raytown, MO, is a Chinese restaurant that appears to specialize in delivery and takeout, with potential dine-in options. Customer reviews present a mixed view, with praise for their ability to customize spice levels and the quality of dishes like combination fried rice, crab rangoons, and fried chicken wings. However, there are significant concerns raised about the poor quality of the General Tso's chicken. Potential customers might find success with certain menu items, particularly the appetizers and rice dishes, but should be aware of the reported issues with the General Tso's chicken. For more information on their services, menu, and any current promotions, contacting New China directly is recommended.

Got delivery. Everything was so good. They really make the rice spicy as asked. Which I appreciate. Got combination fried rice with egg, crab Rangoons which are the recipe from the 90s that I grew up on and fried chicken wings.

Got the general tso’s chicken and while the portion was very big, the chicken was just bad. It was soft and rubbery and didn’t even taste like chicken. Crab rangoons were good though.

Best Chinese delivery and takeout in Raytown. The guy who delivers is one of the nicest people I've ever met and deserves every tip he gets. They know who I am when I call, and they always get my order correct.

We used to love this place. Been going here for over 20 years but here recently it hasn’t been as good. The original owner is so sweet and kind but there’s a new lady there that’s rude. The food was not good at all. I had to go in my kitchen and try to doctor it up and it just wasn’t good. So sad because this place used to be amazing.

I would have given 5 star but the bathroom was locked so I got sick on the carpet. Otherwise this food is very comparable to china88 in Lee's summit, it was very enjoyable.
