About New China King

New China King is a Chinese restaurant situated at 1104 E Grand River Ave in Howell, Michigan. You can contact them at (517) 552-0063 or +1 517-552-0063 for inquiries or to place an order. As a local Chinese restaurant, New China King offers a menu of American Chinese cuisine, with a notable feature of gluten-free options.

Customer reviews present contrasting experiences. One local resident of 23 years expressed disappointment with what they perceived as typical American Chinese food in Howell after trying New China King for the first time. They found the Almond Boneless Chicken (ABC) to be inconsistent across multiple orders, sometimes good but other times dry and over-fried. They also felt the fried rice lacked seasoning and flavor, though portions of the fried rice and ABC were noted as large, while the stir-fry, specifically the Mongolian beef, was considered overpriced for the small portion, which consisted mainly of onions with only a few slices of beef. This reviewer indicated a preference for driving further for what they consider authentic Chinese food.

In contrast, another customer was "very impressed" with their first visit to New China King. They highlighted the "absolutely delicious" food and were particularly pleased with the availability of numerous gluten-free options. This reviewer also noted that all meals are made fresh and from scratch, and they praised the friendliness of the restaurant workers and the top-notch service. They highly recommended New China King and expressed their intention to return.

Overall, New China King appears to offer a range of American Chinese dishes, with a significant advantage for customers requiring gluten-free options, as all meals are reportedly made fresh. However, experiences with the standard menu items seem to vary, with some customers finding the quality inconsistent or not meeting their expectations for flavor and portion sizes. If you are in the Howell area, especially if you are looking for gluten-free Chinese food, New China King is a place to consider, keeping in mind the mixed feedback on their other offerings.

Residents of Howell for 23 years and it my first time trying local American Chinese food..Howell American Chinese food is terrible. Typical American Chinese food The first time, abc was good, but the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th were not good. Abc to dry over fry. Fried Rice needs more seasoning flavor Fried Rice and AbC are pretty big but not the stir fry. Mongolian beef It's not worth it over price for the little portion Couple slices of beef. The rest is just onion . Back to driving far for authentic Chinese food

Very impressed! We went her for the first time and the food was absolutely delicious. I have celiacs and they have a ton of gluten free options. All meals are made fresh and from scratch. All the restaurant workers were very friendly and service was top notch. I highly recommend and we I’ll be back for sure.

Jackie welcomed us to the New China King restaurant. Family ate here decades. Ago. Closed on Monday always stopped us but a Wednesday allowed us to dine here. The food was absolutely delicious and served on styrofoam plating for ease to take hone any left overs. Wife wanted the fried rice to have more flavor but I felt that would interfere with the main entrees! I cannot wait to reheat my food! Jackie is the nicest waiters multitasking the drive in window, take out and dine in tables. This allowed the cooks to prepare delicious food and the other waitress was just as terrific! I cannot wait to return. Thank Confucius for their tolerance of my terrible Chinese. Why do they always laugh and laugh? Boo How!

This is our new favorite Chinese restaurant to eat at. We moved from Downriver area into Gregory and we are having no problems driving half an hour to get to our favorite new Chinese restaurant. The owners are wonderful. The atmosphere is wonderful. It’s very clean and they are very concerned about making sure that you like your food.

We had the Gen Taos and it was the worst we had ever had. My husband is a huge Chinese food fan and this was not good. The chicken was overcooked and old. The taste was bland and the rice overcooked and not mixed well with any of the "sauces" Huge disappointment. I have never had chicken that was almost hollow inside and dry.
