Just do it. If you’re looking for solid Chinese takeout this is your place.. quality/quantity/price of food exceeded expectations. I’ve included an example of just their veggie fried rice I’m eating day 3 as leftovers, completely loaded with fresh veggies.
This place is so good! The staff is kind and attentive and the food is cooked to order. Hot, fresh, and delicious! I got my mom a Happy Family, I asked them to make it spicy and they gladly did so (and boy, did they deliver!), no complaints about the modification like some places do. I got the Curry Chicken Combination, which was quite honestly some of the best curry I’ve ever had. And the cheese wontons? Those, also, were the best wontons I’ve ever had. Crispy, piping hot, and fresh. Absolutely delicious!
First , I understand you longer have table side dinners. But for heavens sake clean the place. It's dirty , dim and stuff all over. Which concerns me , cause is that hiw you keep your kitchen. Food ! Egg rolls good. Fried shrimp and fried won ton absolutely horrid. Almond boneless wasn't bad but the gravey was disgusting. Looked like vomit , smelled bad. Didn't even dare try it. Only saving grace was fried rice. Rice was fresh, nice and soft. This place is now a HUGE pass......
First time eating here and I will be back!! I did not dine-in and wouldn’t as I usually do carry out for Chinese food. Food was hot, FRESH and GOOD!! Got a lunch special with a side of 8 piece crab rangoons. Would recommend
I don't know how this place got supposedly rave reviews for their food. Maybe the reviewers never had good food. This food was bad. Really bad. Not-even-edible bad. First of all, the place is filthy and it smells dirty. That should have been a tip-off; that and all of the flies. Secondly, we ordered the almond boneless chicken and it was terrible. Not only did it look burned, but it looked, smelled, and tasted like fish. Two oval-shaped, sliced pieces with a dark brown coating. Maybe they need to clean the grease or store the chicken in air-tight containers away from other food smells. It tasted and smelled so bad we couldn't eat it. Had to put the lid back on the container because of the smell. Golden Bowl on 21 and Garfield has much better ABC, and you get twice as much, even in the combo platter. The egg rolls at New China are better than Golden Bowl, but the sauce New China uses is terrible; it actually smells vinegar-y. Tastes cheap. They need to use another supplier. The egg rolls are not that much better that it would make us order from here again. We ordered fried rice and even though it is much more moist than Golden Bowl, it tasted burned. But to be fair, Golden Bowl's tastes burned every time, too, so we no longer order it. Golden Bowl's sauce for the ABC is better; New China gave a beige lumpy gravy that smelled and tasted like it was rancid. The almond cookies also tasted like fish, like they had been stored in a refrigerator that had old food smell or had fish in it. Their fortune cookies are even bad. There is a chemical taste to them. I am puzzled as to how their website says the ABC is one of the highest rated dishes for taste and presentation. Don't believe it. I have lived in the area for several years and this was my first time ordering from here, as I heard good things from several people. I don't know how they could recommend this food, and I let them know about it. I won't be ordering again. The portion was small for the price, and was not at all good. I don't mind paying more for good food. This wasn't good food. And they have the nerve to charge 4.25 for a quart of rice, which is one of the cheapest things in the world, along with pasta and potatoes. The best thing was the reusable plastic container that had the chicken in it. At least I got something for my money besides being nauseated. Could it have been a one-time lapse in quality? Maybe, but not likely. It was so bad that I don't have the courage to order anything else from there to give them a second chance. That's the thing with a restaurant; everything has to be the same all of the time and it has to be good. This food was not at all good and not worth a second chance.
