About New China

Welcome to New China, a local Chinese restaurant located at 120 E Main St, Fredericktown, MO 63645, USA. For inquiries or to place an order, you can contact them at (573) 783-3399 or their mobile number +1 573-783-3399. Based on recent online customer reviews, New China appears to offer a unique and visually appealing environment, although opinions on the food quality and pricing seem to vary significantly.

One customer had a very positive experience, describing the restaurant as "so cute!!!" They expressed enjoyment of their food and particularly appreciated the presentation of the hot tea, finding it "so yummy." This reviewer also highlighted the interior decor, noting that despite the restaurant being "quite small," it compensated with "all the Chinese decorations." They specifically mentioned their appreciation for the fish and the water fountain visible upon entering, suggesting that the ambiance is a notable and positive aspect of New China.

However, another customer had a considerably different experience, expressing strong dissatisfaction with the value and taste of the food. This reviewer stated that spending "$40 for two people to eat lunch at a Chinese takeout style restaurant is insane," indicating a perception that the prices were very high for the type of establishment. Furthermore, they found the food to have "zero flavor" and "no seasonings," leading to a feeling of being "robbed eating here" and a vow not to return. This negative feedback strongly contrasts with the positive comments about the environment from the other reviewer.

Adding to their negative experience, this customer also reported a problem with the sweet tea, describing its taste as being like "chemicals" to the point where they could only take one sip. This raises concerns about the quality of their beverages as well as the food.

Considering these contrasting reviews, the environment at New China seems to be a significant feature for some customers. The "Chinese decorations," the presence of fish, and a water fountain create a visually appealing and potentially charming atmosphere, as highlighted by one reviewer who found the place "cute." The small size of the restaurant did not detract from their positive impression of the decor.

However, the other review provides no specific comments on the environment, focusing instead on the perceived high cost and poor quality of the food. This suggests that while some may find the ambiance appealing, the core aspect of a restaurant – the food – may not meet everyone's expectations.

In terms of services, New China appears to operate as a "Chinese takeout style restaurant," implying that takeout is a primary service. However, the positive reviewer dined in, indicating that dine-in service is also available. The pleasant experience with the hot tea service suggests some attention to detail in how food and beverages are presented. The negative reviewer's experience did not provide any positive feedback on the service, as their focus was on the food and pricing.

The features of New China include a menu of Chinese cuisine, although the specific dishes are not detailed in these reviews, except for the mention of "food" in general and "sweet tea." The positive reviewer enjoyed their food, while the negative reviewer found it to lack flavor. The pricing seems to be a point of contention, with one customer finding it excessively high for a "takeout style restaurant." The unique Chinese decorations, fish, and water fountain mentioned by one reviewer could also be considered features that contribute to the restaurant's overall identity and appeal.

Currently, there is no promotional information available in the provided customer reviews. To inquire about any special offers, discounts, or specific menu items and their prices, it would be best to contact New China directly using the provided phone numbers.

In conclusion, New China in Fredericktown, MO, seems to offer a visually distinctive environment with its Chinese decorations, fish, and water fountain, which some customers find appealing. However, there are significant concerns raised by at least one recent customer regarding the high prices for a takeout-style establishment and the poor quality and lack of flavor in the food, as well as issues with beverage quality. Potential customers are advised to consider these contrasting opinions and perhaps inquire directly with the restaurant about their current menu, pricing, and dining options before making a decision.

$40 for two people to eat lunch at a Chinese takeout style resturant is insane. The food had zero flavor. No seasonings. I feel like I was robbed eating here and won't be back. Also, the sweet tea tasted like chemicals I could only take one sip.

Our cross country team stops here after a meet every year, and we are always pleased by both the service and the food. Despite our large group of mostly teenagers, the food is always out quickly and is hot and fresh. The menu has a vast array of options, so there's something for everyone. Every year our runners ask to go back!

The best egg drop soup, general chicken and crab Rangoon. I wish we lived closer! We would be coming here all the time.
