Based on recent online reviews, New China Chinese Restaurant presents a mixed but generally positive impression, highlighting affordability, generous portions, fast service, and a clean environment, while also noting some potential inconsistencies in food preparation.
One reviewer specifically mentioned that the "Restaurant is clean," which is a significant positive aspect for many diners who value a hygienic eating environment. This suggests that New China maintains a focus on cleanliness within their establishment. Additionally, this reviewer noted the convenience of being able to "grab condiments and utensils if needed," implying a self-service area for these items, which can contribute to a more efficient and casual dining experience. While the reviews do not provide extensive details about the overall ambiance or decor, the mention of cleanliness suggests a basic but well-maintained setting for either dining in or picking up orders.
The services at New China Chinese Restaurant appear to be efficient and customer-oriented. One reviewer who has ordered multiple times mentioned that the "food is ready within ten minutes of ordering," indicating a very fast preparation time. This makes New China a particularly attractive option for those seeking a quick meal. Both reviewers commented on the friendliness of the staff, with one stating, "They were nice, and it was easy to order," and the other highlighting that "The owners are very friendly." This suggests that customers can generally expect a pleasant and easy ordering process with polite staff. While the reviews primarily focus on takeout experiences, the mention of a clean restaurant and self-service condiments suggests that dine-in service is also available. Local users can contact New China to inquire about their full range of services, including takeout and potential delivery options.
Several features of New China Chinese Restaurant stand out based on the customer reviews. A significant positive aspect is the affordability of their prices. One reviewer explicitly stated, "They are cheaper than others nearby and you get more food for your buck," emphasizing the value proposition of dining at or ordering from New China. This combination of lower prices and larger portions makes it an attractive option for budget-conscious individuals and families looking for a satisfying meal without overspending.
The quality and taste of the food received mixed feedback. One reviewer who ordered the bourbon chicken combo with veggie lo mein had a negative experience with the lo mein, describing the use of spaghetti noodles as "awful," "greasy," and lacking flavor. They expressed disappointment that this substitution was not disclosed at the time of ordering. However, the same reviewer found the chicken to be "okay," suggesting that the quality may vary between dishes. In contrast, another reviewer praised the "delicious" fried rice, specifically noting that it was "not the generic yellow version," implying a higher quality or more authentic preparation. This positive feedback on the fried rice, coupled with the negative experience with the lo mein, suggests potential inconsistencies in the quality or preparation of different menu items. Local users might find some dishes to be quite enjoyable while others may be less satisfactory.
The fast preparation time, as mentioned by one reviewer, is a significant feature for those who value speed and convenience. The ability to have food ready within ten minutes of ordering is a major advantage for busy individuals or those looking for a quick meal option. This efficiency, combined with the friendly service, contributes to a positive overall experience for customers who prioritize speed and ease of ordering.
Currently, there is no specific promotional information mentioned in the provided customer reviews beyond the general affordability and value for money. The fact that New China is "cheaper than others nearby" and offers "more food for your buck" can be considered an ongoing value proposition. Local users interested in any potential special offers or discounts are encouraged to contact New China Chinese Restaurant directly at (904) 779-5588 or +1 904-779-5588 to inquire about any current promotions or daily specials. Supporting local restaurants like New China can often lead to the discovery of consistently good value and friendly service.
In conclusion, New China Chinese Restaurant in Jacksonville, FL, offers local users an affordable option for Chinese cuisine with generous portions and remarkably fast service. The restaurant is noted for its cleanliness and friendly owners. While there has been a report of a significant issue with one dish (veggie lo mein made with spaghetti noodles), another customer praised the delicious and non-generic fried rice. This suggests that the quality of different menu items may vary. For local users seeking a quick, budget-friendly Chinese meal with friendly service in a clean environment, New China is worth considering. However, it may be prudent to inquire about the ingredients and preparation methods of specific dishes when ordering, especially if you have specific expectations or dietary preferences.

I ordered the bourbon chicken combo with veggie lo mien. The chicken was okay but the lo mien noodles were spaghetti noodles… it was awful. Greasy, lacked flavor and spaghetti noodles??? If they would have told me they used those I wouldn’t have ordered it. They were nice, and it was easy to order but food lacked everything. Maybe I caught them on a bad day? But I’m not going to waste money figuring out if it was a bad day or not.
Decided to check out New China since a few other Chinese places near me were closed on Mondays. Since then I’ve ordered from them a few more times. They are cheaper than others nearby and you get more food for your buck. The fried rice is delicious and not the generic yellow version. The owners are very friendly and the food is ready within ten minutes of ordering. Restaurant is clean and you can grab condiments and utensils if needed. New China will be my go to when I am craving Chinese food.
We ordered the chicken and broccoli Forgot to take a picture, that’s how good it was. She makes her own sauce and you can tell the difference. I couldn’t taste any msg but either way, if I’m over here again I will be coming back to her.
I have a love one, that flavors this restaurant. I have had the enjoyment of eating from here three times. I love fried dumplings. However not for this restaurant. Their fried dumplings where thick and doughy, so I will not be ordering them again from this restaurant. The first time I ate from here the fortune cookies where stale. However the last time I am glad to say, they where fresh as expected. I am also happy to report the entrees have been good! In the last month we have eaten takeout three times, from this restaurant. I am sure we will eat from here again. I enjoy the shrimp & broccoli, as well as the shrimp & vegetables! The other entree was lo mein & bourbon chicken, that was also tasty!
Pepper steak came out hot and faster than McDonald's drive thru. I ate all of it, which is good. Disappointed no cans of soda, the only canned drinks in cooler are for employees. Not sure egg rolls should be at bottom of drinks cooler uncovered. Bathroom out of service, lobby was grimey and uninviting . Not a fan of $7.5o lunch combo no drink no egg roll.
